Heteroclito is a cozy wine destination in the historic center of Athens that is well known for highlighting native varieties of vine and the bounty of the Greek land.👍😊👍 Here you can enjoy and taste more than 200 Greek labels .... including many natural wines that are produced using mild methods of cultivation and winemaking. 👍👍👍 The service is really friendly & professional and they have great wine suggestions by the glass that are changed on the 1st day of each month. 😊🍷😍 On my last visit ... apart from a glass of wine ( see photos) I also tried Φι on ice - a handcrafted artisan liqueur (grape marc distillate (Tsipouro) with bergamot & oranges) that was top notch! 😍👍 Definitely a place I recommend! 😊

This wine bar is nice compared to others, however I definitely do not recommend it for people who are into natural wine. We drink quite a lot of natural wine, and were excited to try some Greek wines during our visit to Athens. We tried a few different glasses here and were disappointed by all of them. They lacked flavour, balance, and tasted more like conventional wines. We were served by a young man who seemed to be quite unhappy to be there - he was unable to offer specific recommendations and rolled his eyes when we asked to see the menu again. For our second glasses the owner came over to serve us, and he was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately we were still very underwhelmed after trying the recommendations he gave us. If you aren’t super knowledgeable about wine, or only drink conventional wine, this place has a lovely vibe overall. But if you are a natural wine connoisseur it’s not worth a visit.

Some natural wine by the glass. There are some bottles that you see at local organic stores. Over all, decent pour and fair prices. If you’re an American, you’ll be asked to leave a tip, even for take out bottles. Plenty of seats outside. Limited seating inside. Convenient location. Clean restroom for clients.

Excellent wine bar in the heart of downtown Athens in between the history Plaka and bustling Monastiraki neighborhoods. They have an extensive wine list both by the glass and bottle. Tons of local Greek wines to try. Food offerings include chips and crackers for snacks with Greek cheese and charcuterie as well. Best place we visited in Athens for a pre dinner glass of wine or just to go and unwind for an hour or two. Can't recommend it enough.

Great local drink spot with great local Greek wines. Well worth a quick stop off to have a glass of vino and watch the Athenians stroll by. Good value too

This little place has all the vibes and organic natural wines with low Sulfides. Great service and really lovely atmosphere. They offer snacks too, but you’ll get a serve of olives with your wine order. We had natural red and white wine and really enjoyed it. Great for a date night or a fun night with friends.

Fun bar! Wine were good and olives were great. Very buzzy and fun but wait staff did miss one of our snack we put in. 😕 fun spot though if you like people watching. They do have a some good natural selection.

Everything about heteroclito was sub-par and disappointing. Nothing you can't purchase at your local chain market. We visited at around 13:00 hours, the seating was plentiful and there was obviously no rush. Let's break this down: Atmosphere - the staff was very uninviting, the owner welcomed us with a cold stare and no words. Drinks- I love wine and our intention was to drink into the evening. One glass each and we were ready to bid this place adieu. We had the lui and the orange wine, nothing spectacular. Food- There is a cozy list of appetizers. We ordered the Moutabal ("smoky" eggplant relish/dip with bread) and the Dakos (toast with tomatoes and capers- straight from the fridge) they were as fresh as week old deli trays at a supermarket, but with zero seasoning. If you do visit, DO NOT ORDER THE FOOD. All in all, I would not recommend wasting your money here, there are much better establishments in town.

There are amazingly delicious, real Greek wines, with very nice service. I was very impressed that they paid attention to the little things. e.g. they offered me cold water at the beginning or when we paid we also got sweets! 🙂

Lovely wine bar, just off the main drag. Interesting choice of greek natural and organic wines. Highly recommended. Has seating outside, get here early-ish to sit outside. Otherwise inside is good. Got to see how they make the platters, which look delish!

Great wine bar centrally located in Athens. We didn’t have a reservation but got a nice table outside. It’s a buzzy street with a great atmosphere in the evenings and lots of chances to people watch! The menu is great with lots of Greek choices, mostly on the natural, low intervention wines. Our waitress was a knowledgable and gave some great recommendations. Great wine and nice glasses. Overall great experience and recommend if you are into wine.

Great value wines and even better atmosphere. It was a busy Saturday night, where we were first given a spot at the bar but quickly accommodated at a table, as soon as one was free. Sip a glass of wine and watch the world go by, what could be better.

I enter and it was only one gentleman at the bar. She came after 15 min. She was a middle aged woman ..And she took an Order. After she start "chatting" a lot with the gentleman No problem.. she is probably the owner When i ask for my second order i said i don't need a menu and she answered .. "i didn't brought to you anyway" I ask for a wine that she didn't had . She said "i have something similar BUT it costs 8 euro.. I can put you the half of the glass" 🥂 🥂 cheers 🥳 of course left !

Wow, what a welcome! The sourest scour from behind the bar. We ordered 2 Heteroclito Spritz to start and were looking at the menu wine map to select some wine. My wife took some pics of map and staff rudely said they don’t allow pictures…?? The menu is on their website, it’s in the public domain. Very rude people! Alas, one drink and out!

Great place for wine, with a good selection to choose from. Staff were very friendly and service was fairly quick. The food however was not as good, which was not equivalent to the quality of the wine.

Best wine selection I found in Athens!!! For natural wine lovers- that’s your place! The staff were so kind and professional. The wine was lovely and the location is great. If your interested in buying bottles to take abroad- look for Kelly, she’s you person:)

One of the most beautiful wine bars/concepts in Athens right in the heart of the town! You will be amazed by the knowledge and the experience you will get from them.

I've been to Athens with friends for two weeks, and we discovered this nice location in the central city of Athens. It really looked inviting and Assyrtiko wine was recommended to me. So we took a glass and got it from a really friendly and kind waitress. The wine was really really good and we also tasted a few nice beers there. Every waiter/waitress was communicative and nice that we decided to go there a second time. And it was the same nice experience again. The atmosphere there is amazing and if you like good wine or beer, you definitely have to go there! I would always go there again if I ever travel to Athens again. Thanks for the nice evenings!

Lovely wine bar with seating inside and outside. We got a table outside and just had a couple of glasses of wine before going to dinner. It was great to sit outside and just watch people walk past. The menu of wine by the glass was not large but it gives you a chance to taste some Greek wine - and it also contained a map that show you the various wine regions of Greece. Great place to stop by if you want a glass of wine before you go out to eat dinner.

Great wine. Limited food choices. The staff is friendly but it takes a while to be noticed by them. Almost had to start waving both hands and start screaming.

They have a very good selection of wine by the glass. Good prices too, specially for the location. Space is limited, we ended up sitting at some stools outside. But service was great. Only downside is the food was not amazing, but if you are coming for the wind, it's a great place.
