I’ve been to this hospital for a foot injury and although I didn’t speak Greek, one of the nurses was kind enough to take the time to read my text on Google Translate and helped me through the process of seeing the right doctor. The Doctor himself spoke good English and took the right amount of time to assess my injury. The radio service was also fast and efficient. It’s a chance that some policemen suggested this hospital. As a tourist I was relieved and well taken care of. Kudos to the wonderful medical staff and doctors. They were amazing even though the ER was full that night.

The most unorganized, unhelpful and rude staff I have encountered in a public hospital. The only plus is that if you know which building you're supposed to go to, the signs outside show you the direction, other than that, once you've found your building, good luck with finding ( guessing ) where your appointment is. Trying to call to make an appointment is an exasperation. We had an appointment for small surgery at 14. When we finally found where we were supposed to be, after asking nurses because nobody was to be found at any desk, I knocked on the door to tell them we were there, to which a gruff woman opened the door, shouted that she'd call us and slammed the door in my face! We waited another 45 minutes and when she opened the door again, I told her our name and the Dr. to which she replied, " Oh, he's not here yet! " Our appointment for the surgery was at 14 and it was now 15, nobody gave out any information. It's a mess! I know the staff are overworked, blah, blah, blah, but at least management can make sure that people are directed to where they are supposed to be and to give out answers and information that a Dr. will not be at the appointment scheduled instead of letting patients sit and wait for hours for nothing. On our original appointment we waited 3 hours! Other people were being let in before us without appointments. I have been to Evagelismos and Erythros Stavros where the Doctors and nurses couldn't have been more helpful and polite! On the other hand, the hospital was quite clean for a public hospital, although there is no soap in the bathroom!

(Translated by Google) This morning around 10:00 am I called the hospital call center for clarification and the owner of the line that ended at 200 spoke irresistibly, unacceptably, ironically and yelled at me on the phone! It is unacceptable in a public hospital that officials talk about patients! It should be removed immediately (Original) I ve lost my mother after a series of experimental dead-end surgeries. They created a Frankestein of a being, who endured horrible pain and agony on a daily basis until her very last breath! My mother lost her basic humanity and dignity after the doctors finished with her! The team of doctors surgeons have no training on showing basic empathy or humanity. I am pretty sure that the brightest, kindest and most able docs have migrated abroad and what we are left with are a bunch of arrogant narcs! My mother was seen as another labrat or a piece of meat! Nurses are overworked and stretched so much that they have lost touch with their caring nature too. Working like little robots! Having seen the way they spoke to patients and family members for over a year, I would have guessed these were either bouncers or prison guards instead. I witnessed with my own eyes, many patients being abused, tossed, punctured with needles and becoming victims of mockery and sarcasm on a daily basis. Surprisingly I would see a junior doctor or a trainee nurse trying to be caring here and there, thank goodness! Overall, this hospital is a disgrace to the Greek national health service and is doing a diservice to humanity and the basic human rights! The heads and ministers should resign asap! Hospitals need care and humanity first, brains second! Serial Killers and psychopaths are supersmart too but that's not their excuse to avoid prison! I would encourage all families to sue the hospital and the doctors when they perform careless surgeries or health care on their patients. This is for all the patients that got abused in A Pathologiki, B Orthopediki, Ourologiki clinics! From totally uncivilised bandits! Fortunately, there are a handful of kind members of staff but these are only a minority!

Please if you can avoid that hospital. You will find an unprofessional and rude culture of the staff and their doctors. My father passed away on their cardiology department. Inadequate cleaning, rude and nasty doctors not willing to inform the relatives of the patient condition. A shame of the Greek national health system. A complete disregard of doctors professional standards and medical ethics. Sad to say you may have a chance on a private hospital.

(Translated by Google) About NX: Excellent neurosurgeons (for the most part), but suffer from post-operative attention. People are dying because they are bored of dealing with serious post-surgery. They have the miserable notion that once someone comes out of their surgery, their responsibility ends. No gentlemen. Doctors' "responsibility" ends when the patient is fully (or fully) restored. Patients may not recur, or even die after a few months because you just think your job is over once you have taken the patient out of the operating room and told him that "it is fine and he can safely go home, since a hospital can't offer anything more. " Nursing also needs radical changes. For the 1st Pathologist: It makes sense to be crazy with so many people, but guys, this is the job, what to do. You need calm, patience, and patient analysis. Analysis is not your choice. It is an obligation in their lives. For the Neurologist: Although chaos, serious work is being done. Sadly crazy and serious to unacceptable, the disagreement between the rest of the hospital. For ICU: Really unacceptable attitude. Zero humanity. The situations may have made them look at human beings simply as meat (with pockets maybe? I don't know ...), but that's no excuse. Unacceptable behavior of ICU heads (not just on-call doctors who are impeccable), such as the presence of so many germs, along with the infinite justifications for their existence. It is not a coincidence that statistically most surgeries in Gennemata are successful, but many patients then skip over the entire hospitalization process (with the responsibility of more doctors, not just nurses). In summary, it is imperative that your patient's relatives receive full attention throughout their postoperative course. No need for voices and nerves (which will surely come sometime) but calmness to come up with a solution that will always be in your human interest.

The worst hospital in Europe. I do not recommend anyone to go to this hospital, you have to wait in very long lines and no one cares that you are already dying.

One of the best public hospitals. We have seen worst. The manners of some of the staff could be improved. They are public workers, underpaid and every day, for a lot of years, they have to deal with different kinds of people, but they truth is they should behave better. Be sure for one thing: these people (nurses, doctors etc.) have a lot of experience greater than most of the Greek private hospitals where everything looks more tidy and the staff more polite. They have to deal with a lot of different medical situations so they gain valuable experience. Judge from the results, not from the looks. Also someone disconnected most of the televisions even if they still work, so you'll have to rent from the hospitals external associates. Bring with you a coaxial cable and install a remote control app on your smart phone if supported and you will have free TV. Only one person can stay with the patient overnight. Make sure to bring your own lay back chair like the one I 'm posting in the pictures so you don't have to rent one.(which you can use only in the night, during the day close it and put them away from the patient's beds). All the medical care is free if you a have a Greek national insurance number (AMKA). In Greek public hospital if you have an emergency (accident, pregnancy etc.) you can be treated for free just by just bringing your passport. In any other case you need to pay for your treatment. For a surgery expect something like 2000-3000 euros. Ask at the reception for the prices. Three caffeterias in the hospital are open 24 hours and they also have a great variety of snacks. One of the them works as a small mini market with items that you might need.

Was butchered in surgery and left horribly scarred. Made the mistake of confessing i was struggling qith drug addiction and being asian. When they realized i am actually south korean and rather wealthy, all of a sudden there was no record of the 2 weeks i spent there and the doctors refused to give me their names. Im home in korea, drug free now and still not sure what organs i have or dont have. Im pretty sure they gave me a hysterectomy and didnt tell me anything else. If they asked, i would have gladly paid for robotic surgery but am horribly scarred instead...first do no harm, dr. Whoever you are that .

This place is a disaster and a disgrace. After 20 hours I went home in a worse condition than when I came in there. God help those who need medical help in Greece in general.

Absolutely worst experience of my life. Went into urgent care for severe food poisoning. Checked in at 10:30am with an estimated “waiting time” of 36 minutes. This was a lie. So many people in line for pathology. You basically put your number down on the chart with the security guard and wait your turn. But this doesn’t include the people who are listed as needed to be seen right away go ahead of you and also ambulance patients get priority. So the standby line moves very slowly. By the time 3pm hit, I here my number and approach security he lets me know that I am 2nd in line with a guy ahead of me. Which I take as good news but then 1.5 hours pass and the first hasn’t gotten called in yet. And somehow the security guards switch and I approach the new one to make sure I am still 2nd and he says he has no number of me on his chart so he puts me on the bottom! This was so shocking but then the original security guard came back and explained to him that I am 2nd and be fixed it. Even after this, 30 min later the 1st guy goes in so I am next up to be seen. By this time it’s 5pm. Still more urgent patients and ambulance patients are being pushed in. It finally hits 6:30pm and I’m still not called. This is so ridiculous and I am crying in my seat from how much pain I’m in and I end up checking out and leaving to be seen at a private hospital that saw me right away instead. Avoid this place as much as possible. Horribly run hospital and system. Terrible way to treat patients.

My mother was hospitalized in G. Gennimatas hospital, Psychiatric department for 1 month (due to dementia delirium), and another 1 month in Rheumatology department. The 1st psychiatric dep. initially treated her well in the first 2-3 weeks of her stay, until without notification or explanation, they significantly increased the dosage of the antipsychotics they were giving her. They were also giving her 2 antipsychotics together for no apparent reason (one is more than enough). In addition, the stuff at the 2nd Rheumatology dep. neglected my mother's requests and would not help her or encourage her to get out of bed. As result, a week before discharge my mother turned from fully independent functioning adult, to half vegetable, not eating or drinking and not moving at all, she slept around 20 hours a day! I am very disappointed with the nurses and doctors of this hospital and this has damaged my trust against all doctors. I will be submitting a formal complaint and exploring my options legally with the proof I already hold.

This might be one of the worst hospitals I've been to and I've been to multiple hospitals in multiple countries. The staff seems to be doing its best, but the "best" is very much the worst I've seen so far. Waiting times are atrocious, even when you are in pain and even when you have an actual emergency. Infections require antibiotics and somehow even I know that, but doctors and nurses just make you wait for hours without end. Is it that difficult and long to just provide the necessary treatment on time. I saw nurses and doctors just sitting and doing nothing, while patients are in pain

(Translated by Google) I will not say much because there is no reason. A "gentleman" who pretends to be an orthopedic doctor - simply unacceptable! A type secretary named Bright in the orthopedic office not just unacceptable behavior .. we are talking about kicks the woman! As for the hospital, big as a labyrinth! At first I saw it as positive but soon it became a nightmare, instead of being sick now and having to travel miles from one doctor to another. Waiting even by appointment. But the most important thing is to change this situation with the public staff. Who can not do his job properly to go home and eat his walls! We pay them all and they have to do with suffering people they should be ashamed of! (Original) Δε θα πω πολλα γιατι δεν υπαρχει λόγος. I was treated at the vascular surgery clinic and left with the best impressions, all the doctors and nurses are perfect, thank you very much. The only thing that made a very bad impression on me is one of the two gentlemen at the reception of the CT scanner, who I saw for a CT scan before the operation and he made fun of me as well as other patients and from what I happened to see in other comments, he has a system. It goes without saying that the rest of the doctors and nurses in the CT ward are polite and very good at their jobs and the gentleman in question is too small to detract even in the slightest from the general image of the hospital

Well, my personal experience is better to sit and die quietly and nicely at home than to go there, doctors, some sleazy things with style and diva style, it's unbelievable that you go there on duty and from the nerves they create you don't know who to start kicking first, I had I got something in my leg and they were trying to put me into surgery, I left. Of course, from there I went to a private doctor with some pills and ointment, I was fine, never there again..

i m writing this review because of one ( unprofessional doctor who deserve to be in JAIL ) i don't know this issue in greece when we go to public hospital we feel that they are doing favour for us while they are getting payed from our taxes , i went with my wife by ambulance tuesday 13/12/2022 2:00 am and we wated for the doctor till 11 am to arrive and when he saw us, he refused to check on us because as he said ( we will not dye from H1N1 ) so he left us with no medications nothhhing, we went after 2 days to a private doctor he told us we need immediat care since we have sever h1n1 case and he gived us all the medications needed urgently ... 1- A doctor in an emergency in hospital doesn't have the right to refuse to check a patient , it is part of his job. 2- The problem in these hospitals is that there is no place to complain .

I came here 5 years ago. I had broken my wrist in England and it was time to have an x-ray to see if I need to keep the cast or take it off, but I just happened to be in Greece. So, I went to Gennimatas hospital with my father as it was the closest hospital on duty for orthopedic incidents and they took me in pretty quickly. They explained to me that they could not treat me here due to not having specialized doctors at the time (or something similar, didn't actually understand what they meant), but they cut down my cast anyway, they cleaned my arm and they sent me to another hospital near Kifisia where they had phoned the doctor in beforehand to let him know I am coming, and that other doctor helped me pretty quickly, did my x-ray in no time, he reviewed it and he sent me to an orthopedics shop in the same area, Kifisia to buy a splint and physio equipment. Quite a fuss to drive from one hospital to other but they were very polite and helpful and they didn't have the attitude you meet in other greek hospitals (delays in triage, problematic prioritization, rude staff that act like they own the place).

They are one of the largest hospitals in Attica and they have a HUGE parking lot for the employees. They have chosen this hospital as one of the major for giving blood. They are located on a very busy main highway. They have no parking for people coming to donate blood.

It was Sunday morning 19/06 and I was in an extremely hard situation from an accident on the road with my bike. All the staff behave me unexpectedly good. May was my bad condition, I don't know, but I think all the patients had the same treatment. It was obvious that they were understaffed and they couldn't work efficiently, but did a great job. I'm very thankful. However, after the accident it's an adventure to find someone responsible for my results, don't even try the phone call center, you waste your time.

Patients in 2nd Internal Medicine Department luck dignity. Nurses who work at first floor, surgical dept, are burned out. They turn to be rude and dangerous for the patients. Luck of communication between the medical and the rest of the stuff. Luck of communication between the relatives and stuff. It is cautious for the public health’s security and medical community’s dignity to report it furtherly to proper services for Inspection of Medical Services on Greece if it’s to save other people’s life. I hope the stuff is ready to apologise to proper authorities as soon as I send my demand there.

Today marks fifty days since a severe burn on my left hand. What I would like to comment on in today's post is my impressions, both of the KAT - excellent from many previous experiences - that I was initially transferred to, and mainly of the Gennimata hospital. where I then moved. Many positive things have been written and said, but mostly negative, about our public hospitals. However, what I, personally, experienced all this time, is the humanity and science with which I have been surrounded by nursing and scientific staff. And this is not because I am a special personality but simply a unit among dozens, waiting my turn every three days for the painful changes. And when I had to go into the operating room, the three surgeons Mr Stefanos Tsallas, Lymberios Louros and George Porphyriou, with the assistance of the two sweetest nurses Mrs Bouga and Theodoridou, succeeded, after two and a half hours, in restoring my hand to its former form. I want to thank all of them from the bottom of my heart, as well as Mr. Argyros, the nursing staff of the outpatient clinics, but above all Stefanos Tsallas, an excellent scientist and person who has followed me since the first day. and whose dedication to his work transcends our own borders by joining the team of Doctors Without Borders. Let's finally stop complaining. We have a public health system which, under the pressure of the volume of hospitalized patients, operates and offers - without any discrimination - with knowledge and above all with humanity and kindness the maximum of its capabilities.
