This review is for our experience at the bar, husband wanted a crafted cocktail and decided to try it. Hotel is very nice and clean. Most importantly, drinks were delicious, hospitality is warm. We did not feel like strangers in a foreign country. Very welcoming place! Wish we would have stayed at this hotel instead. Until next time!

We stayed here only 1 night due to a cancelled flight, but it definitely helped dampen our frustrations over the flight. The room was stunning, luxury high tech, spotlessly clean, spa shower, and a comfortable bed. To top it off, the staff were so warm and welcoming. Would have loved to stay longer!

Stayed here for 2 nights to see the major sites in Athens. We were generously given a room with a gorgeous view of the Acropolis while staying on a points redemption. The room was large with modern, convenient finishes. It was a great experience.

The Academia Hotel is brilliantly located. Walking distance to the Acropolis, the Plaka, the Attica department store, and many restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised; this summer when I spent a few unexpected nights at the Academia Hotel in Athens, Greece. The hotel's stylish neoclassical design makes it the perfect backdrop for all the great Greek philosophers' quotes. The rooms were pretty comfortable overall. After a long flight, we all need a bit of rest and relaxation; check out The PNOE Wellness Center. Your mind and body will thank you for it. What was even more impressive was the friendly and professional staff's attention to detail. Since traveling alone, I was a frequent guest at Plato’s bar, where I had my pre-dinner cocktails with the very engaging bartenders Nektarios and Giannis. The next stop is the Symposium restaurant, where you will have a healthy and delicious breakfast served by the most accommodating and friendly staff members. Demetrious, the GM, would always come over to chat and ask about my day. At last, The NYX Japanese Fusion Restaurant and Bar on the Rooftop is a must. You can delight your taste buds with delicious Japanese delicacies served by charming and engaging hostesses and servers overlooking the Acropolis and beautiful sunsets. Ask to sit in Chrisa's section; she’ll take excellent care of you.

Recently stayed on our honeymoon for 2 nights. The hotel was nice enough and the staff was friendly. The area was decent albeit uneventful. My gripe was with the "City View" we paid for and what we got, even on the 7th floor all the city we could see was the building next to us and scaffolding. I feel as though we were misled about what we would be getting and it left a sour taste.

Excellent luxury hotel in a pretty neighborhood close to lively restaurants and bars. Walking distance to the major sights. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise and their rooftop restaurant is outstanding - both food and service.

Our preferred hotel in Athens. Modern boutique alternative to the traditional grand hotels. This was our 2nd time at this hotel, back after 1.5 years. Had a great stay. Excellent service by everyone. Beautiful design of every detail in rooms and common areas. Conveniently located close to main Athens sites and Kolonaki shopping. Thankful to be upgraded as Marriott Platinum to a large acropolis-view room that made our stay even more special.

This is a beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms and great amenities and is within walking distance to all the attractions, but the staff make the true difference. Every single staff member was friendly and welcoming every time we interacted with them. It has been a long time since I've felt so warmly received at any hotel! I'll definitely look to stay here again next time I'm in Athens.

Athens was my first International trip. My trip was 8 nights long and it could not have gone better. With only two excursions planned, it was amazing to venture out on our own and explore the historical city of Athens. Our hotel's staff were super friendly and helpful with food and activity recommendations. They were very accommodating, booking taxis for us, making dinner reservations for us at their recommended places, and even packing us breakfast before we left for our excursions. Everyone we met along the way during our trip were very friendly and helped us learn the language, culture, and proper etiquette. We explored as much of the city as we could, given the duration of our trip. We have so much more of Europe to explore but if I were given the opportunity to return to Greece, I would return to this hotel again. Thank you Nadia and Tereza :)

Comfy boutique hotel walking distance to good restaurants and central area, although the immediate surroundings aren’t very interesting. Room was well appointed and nicely soundproofed, we never heard any guests and construction across the street, through audible, wasn’t loud enough to wake us up. Helpful staff and good breakfast. But watch your step outside the front door, the slanted steps seem designed to trip people up (but walking in Athens you’ll see this is pretty common).

Small but very beautiful hotel in a very good to excellent location. The staff was lovely. As a Marriott Titanium member we were greeted by a tasty mocktail and friendly staff. On request we were provided an excellent restaurant recommendation. As of June 2021 the hotel was pretty new. Everything beautifully designed. Beds super comfy. Beautiful bathrooms. However standard rooms are tiny and when facing the street a bit loud for this type of hotel. When you’re travelling with family don’t even think you gonna fit in one room with your kids unless they sleep on you. I don’t think a roll away would fit into that room. You will need a second room. If you value aesthetics more than space I would stay here rather than the run down Hilton. We had a suite as an upgrade plus a second connected room for the kids. Super comfy stay! The hotel has no parking garage but there are two around the block one for 15 one for 25 Euro . There’s a small gym, indoor swimming pool and sauna. We could enjoy them all. There was no one there beside us. Breakfast is small selection wise but that didn’t bother us as food quality, taste and service were very good. Unfortunately the Academias hotel has no club lounge. But there is a beautiful bar at the roof top and the ground floor. I would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely wonderful hotel, staff, breakfast, restaurant, bars, rooftop views, & location!!! Perros was most often our bar tender, and he was incredible! He made the best drinks, & he was so great to talk to! Also, the restaurant staff and the front desk staff ensured we had the best recommendations and accommodations reserved! Everything we wanted to see within Athens itself was within walking distance from the hotel! Highly recommend!

Great location, beautiful building, very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms aren't huge, but you're in Athens and will barely spend time there. The breakfast selection was wide and the food was delicious!!

At first we didn't know why this hotel is an autograph collection of Marriott. After staying there, it wouldn't deserve that designation. The little things matter, and they certainly excel on making you feel at home. The symposium restaurant was excellent, preparing delicious breakfast right from their open kitchen. The rooftop restaurant has a spectacular view of the Acropolis is something that you definitely should not miss. Stay there and get the full experience yourself.

We had such an amazing stay - the team did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as they could, everyone was so pleasant and helpful! The room was lovely; the hotel design is a modern take on art deco and is an interesting space to be in. It's also got a great location that makes it easy to explore the city. Would definitely recommend a stay to anyone visiting Athens!

A small modern hotel by Autograph Collection hotels in the centre of Athens. The staff have been truly great from the check in, the door man, the professional staff at the rooftop restaurant with a direct view of the Acropolis. Room was comfortable, clean, appealing. The bathroom had white marble allover. The Japanese influenced rooftop restaurant seved amazing food and equally amazing cocktails. I highly recommend.

Wonderful hotel in walking distance to sites and restaurants. The service was impeccable. The staff was friendly and really took care of their guests. We booked the executive king room which was spacious for 2 and had a very comfortable bed. They served a delicious breakfast with made to order and buffet options. I highly recommend this hotel!

During our recent trip to Athens, my partner and I spent three nights exploring the city and did not fully utilize the amenities of our hotel. However, on our final night, we dined at the top-floor restaurant, which was a fantastic experience. The food was exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking back, we realized that we should have taken advantage of the hotel's facilities more. The service was outstanding, and although we encountered a minor inconvenience with the air conditioner mode, as it was set to heat and we were unable to adjust it to cold due to another guest's room, overall, our stay was perfect. We would definitely consider returning to this hotel in the future. Thank you. Uploaded few photos from the top floor restaurant 😍

While the hotel is on close proximity to everything, fact is this causes significant limitations. We got here at 10:30 AM fresh of a super early morning flight. and even with the promise of expediting the room post checkout time at 3 PM room was still not ready. Mind you I have Marriott status. Simply put this is not the level of service I expect from the Autograph Collection and I've used this brand in many countries without experiencing what I experienced. As it is temper expectations.

Had a lovely stay at this thoughtfully designed hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The full tub and rain shower were amazing and the bed was super comfy. Loved using the pool and sauna after a long day.

Staff was nice, friendly and willing to help. Rooms were a little small but spacious bathroom. We stayed in a twin double. My sister stayed in a king room which seemed even smaller than ours. It's the city so that's expected. Metro isn't too far away. Just a few blocks away. Great experience

This hotel was absolutely amazing. The ambiance is very comforting and breath taking. Once you enter the lobby, there’s a nice bar to the side awaiting for your arrival to order a libation if the wait line is full for service to check in. The staff was phenomenal and very accommodating - we arrived the morning as we were returning from a cruise so the rooms were not available, the hotel staff stored our luggage and provided us with a friendly map to navigate the city (walking) was highly recommended and we did - the day was beautiful to tour Athena on foot! They called our phones immediately once our rooms were available to check in as well. The rooms were very luxurious, stocked bars, comfy bathrobes, and slippers, the linen on the bed was soft as butter and the shower was amazing it was a rainfall shower..very spacious room, clean and comfortable - you must book your stay here at Academias Autograph Hotel if you’re looking for a nice exquisite and comfortable establishment to stay while in Athens!

Authentic and Amazing at Academias Upon stepping into the Academias Hotel, one is instantly captivated by the harmonious blend of luxury and comfort. However, it's their culinary delights that truly set them apart. Offering a diverse range of gastronomic experiences, every dish is crafted with finesse, reflecting both traditional flavors and innovative fusions. But the pièce de résistance is undoubtedly their rooftop. Offering a panoramic view of the city, it paints a breathtaking canvas of urban beauty, especially as the sun sets. Whether you're there for the ambiance, the food, or the view, the Academias Hotel promises an unforgettable experience.

WOW. Just left this hotel and I was SO impressed. Customer service felt like the Ritz Carlton, rooms were impeccable, showers and bath was like a waterfall. Pool and sauna impeccable, restaurant staff and food at all 3 food facilities impeccable. No one missed a beat. The level of detail here at every corner from design to customer service was impeccable. The food at breakfast was 5 star perfection. I'm a "lifetime platinum" Marriott member and travel a lot, haven't seen or experienced this level of professionalism and consistency for an entire hotel staff since the Ritz Carlton in Singapore years ago. Here aded to Lisbon now after feeling so well taken care of. I was curious and reading what the 1 star reviews were, wondering what anyone could possibly say negative about this hotel. Apart from the people who had to be moved last minute to another hotel perhaps due to overbooking, I am surprised by how willing people are to complain about small things that are insignificant, inconsequential, and a reflection of their own issues and not the hotel. Brava from the moment I got out of the cab to the moment I got back in one to go to the airport with the inimitable Christos helping us with our bags.

Met all expectations and beyond. Matched the online photos perfectly with no suprises. Staff are wonderful and very helpful. They don't nickel and dime over the small stuff. Bathtub was a favorite. 2 minutes to get to the heart of the center of activity.

1 night precruise. Rooms are small but great hotel. Staff was super friendly. To top the day off they have a Rooftop Bar with AMAZING Views of the Acropolis. Sushi was fresh and every dish was made to order. Manager came by many times to check on us. You should definitely stay here!

We stayed one night during our stay in Athens and really enjoyed our stay. Good location, excellent service, and very attentive staff. We loved the cake they surprised us with for our honeymoon celebration. I recommend this hotel if you're in the area.

Amazing hotel, with the silent rooms (including air condition), very comfortable beds and perfect location. NYX bar at the top floor offers modern high quality japan-inspired food with a great view for Acropolis! Last but not least, very helpful and friendly stuff makes you want to come back there anytime you are in Athens!

I was a bit disappointed as I chose this place because of the rating of locality. It's not so great. Most of all I was happy with great staff. Extremely polite, nice and helpful people! Rooms are a bit small as you would expect given locality. Pool was better than I expected, not many people using pool and gym, so good. Breakfast was ok. I don't recommend to eat at the ground level. Overall fulfilling what you would expect from such a hotel.

  • 4/5 John B. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel has a great location and the service was excellent. The breakfast was average. The upgraded view room is not worth it. It gives a peek of the Acropolis, but mainly the view is of an older woman drinking coffee on her outdoor patio in an apartment across the street. The hotel has no extras, such as pool, hot tub, sauna, or shops. Basically, you get a nice room without anything else. The rooftop restaurant gives great views and currently offers Japanese fusion aka sushi. However, if sensitive to noise do not stay on the seventh floor as the bass from the restaurant music will be heard past midnight.

Joseph is a great GM.We had an issue at check-in that was resolved quickly and he made sure to take care of us. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate and the rain showers felt so good after traveling to the islands the whole week.

Soo I'm American and yes when in Europe I tend to like my American standards... You will get all of that and more here. The service is exceptional.. you are about 10 min from everything... Had a great massage and rooftop is super romantic for drinks and dinner... Pic of view from room 7 floor.

Centric hotel. Price quality is fine. Don’t expect it to be on the luxurious side. Breakfast is fine, small but good!

The hotel is nice and has a great atmosphere but the people made the difference! From the welcome in the night with smooth check in and explanations to the great breakfast service. Warm, friendly and genuine. The view of the rooftop bar is stunning and breathtaking, the rooms are clean and comfortable yet we would return because of the wonderful team. thank you to all!
