I went to this place and was treated very badly. This Spanish guy did not give me my change, when I ask him about it, he had an attitude with me. I then told him I didn't want the food I wanted my money back. I'm a smart, successful sista. Now he gave me my money back, and said "THAT'S WHY I HATE BLACK PEOPLE ". I was floored. I then filed a complaint against the golden bird, at first I reached out to the owner, he never responded. This was my experience with this golden bird and will never go back.

Absolutely horrible, waited in line for 40 minutes. The lady was nice but they took forever. My daughter bit into bloody chicken. Disgusting, there was blood in the tray from the chicken. I called Ava’s and the lady told me it was because she cooked it fresh. Dumbest response I’ve ever heard. One thing I’m grateful about is now I no longer eat chicken. I drove an hour for my kids to try this place. Never Again

My 1st time eating here via uber eats. Delicious and Wonderful Food!! Mom was born in LA and when we came to town this weekend for the Tupac Museum we had to leave the trip on a high note. Golden Bird 100/100. The chicken strips, drum sticks, peach cobbler, banana pudding, red beans and rice, ample fries, & mac and cheese reminded Mom of her childhood and made a new fan out of me!!!! Worth every penny. Your taste buds will thank you!

I had the catfish and it's always great! They offer the option of their signature batter-fried or cornmeal. I usually opt for their signature batter. I grew up on this batter and it's what separates Golden Bird from all of its competitors. Love it! Drove 50 miles for it and it didn't disappoint! Looking forward to the next time!

Ordered 3 thighs, but got to the window and was told it would take 15 mins. Would have been helpful to know that while ordering. Chicken was just okay. A little chewy. Not the original crunch that I loved as a kid.

Cashier was nice but the cook was terrible. Chicken had no flavor and it was burnt. Seems like it was cooked in old grease. Hint the picture below. This place is in need of some serious renovation.

I recently tried this when my hubby said that he used to eat this all the time when he was a teen in California I'm from Vegas and I never tasted any good chicken like Golden Birds OMG I'm so glad there's not one out here in Vegas because I would be broke all the time it's a little expensive but it is worth it you got to try it!!! Even my kids ate it when it's hard to find them something new that they like we had to go back and get more :)

Everything is basically good. Chicken, onion rings, & biscuits are my favorites. But.... The 20 piece family meal price increase $25 in 1 year, from $50 to $75; and the side portions can be eaten by 4 people, but 4 people arent going to eat 20 pieces of chicken in one setting. Please decrease your prices & increases side portions to a reasonable amount so you can get more customers. $75 for 20 piece family meal is ridiculous. If I order the family meal at $75 twice a year, then you guys make $150; but if I order the same family meal at $55 five times a year, then you guys make $275. Some item are reasonably priced and others are overpriced. See pictures

The Fried Chicken at Golden Bird is sooooo good but the problem is the atmosphere and how slow they take to get you your food. They have always been such a slow restaurant and it makes me not go there as much. Please do better with time management .

This use to be my favorite chicken spot but a 3 weeks ago I ate here after not coming for a few years and I was very disappointed. The chicken was so greasy and just lacked the taste of Golden Bird that I have known and loved for many years. I seen new staff members working and this might explain things. But something needs to be done to bring back the old Golden Bird taste and the original way that the chicken use to be prepared clearly everyone doesn't know how to prepare chicken properly so get staff that knows how to correctly prepare chicken if you want your day 1 customers to stay current customers

Wish I could give it no stars! The food was horrible I ordered a breast and wing meal with mashed potatoes and yams🤢 The chicken was dry and raw at the same time the potatoes tasted old the yams were hard and swimming in brown water. Oh and I also had a banana pudding which was also nasty very thick and totally gross. I don't know what happened to the food maybe new management or owners what ever the reason I'll never spend another dime with them and suggest you look for another place to eat.

Chicken had no flavor Mac & cheese was out the box And candy yams hard not sweet Whole meal was trash and waste of money 🙄🙄🙄

I threw my order in the trash. Such a disappointment! The chicken was just bland and greasy. I'll never go back. $16 wasted.

Ordered via uber eats - I ordered a extra biscuit, my meal also came with a biscuit! Yet, I received muffins that is NOT what I wanted and would've better appreciated a refund for the extra biscuit. Other than that the food was good.

The chicken was great except 1 piece was fried in fish oil. I could taste the fishy pil taste. The onion rings were good too.

Their chicken wasn't that good but their biscuits are incredible along with their French fries

Service was good 👍, but chicken wasn't good. Seems it was under heat lamps too long. I wish they could cook it after you place order. Then it would be like golden bird 🐦 used to be.

The food was pretty good but I thought this was a closed down business until I saw someone come out. They need to work on the out side if they want to bring in more customers & money. It really looks bad outside. 🤷🏽‍♀️

That place has been there forever! I haven’t but I just wanted to say that it has historic value. After the first Watts riots we had so few stores and restaurants that it was worth car pooling (most of us did not have cars in the William Nickerson housing projects in the 1960’s) and sharing a ride over to Golden Bird on 120th to buy their chicken.

Just left the restaurant. I pulled into drive thru, waited a few minutes with no response from speaker. I noticed the restaursnt was opened but no patrons. So I pulled to the window, no one inside. As I was leaving the drive thru a woman was sitting in the back. She appeared to be talking on her phone & smoking. She didn't respond when I asked if the restaurant was open. Such a failure as a business with such a Great history. Someone PLEASE open a franchise in the Compton, Watts or Carson area.
