The flagpole is just that, a large Greek flag on an aluminum stick. Not the largest flag you'll ever see either, but the viewing area around the flagpole affords some of the best vistas of Athens. Too bad its crawling with tourists though...

2023: The best lookout spot in the Acropolis, gets very crowded, as everyone's after panos. Can be seen from many angles while walking the streets of Athens.

From the flagpole podium you have a beautiful view of the city and the best location for a photo of Pantheon

A symbolic aspect of the Acropolis and all of Athens. It represents the pride that Greece has for the incredible history that they have! The view from here is also pretty awesome!

A great photo spot and viewing platform with a view of Athens. It is located on the roof of the bunker where the guard of honor is located. Hoisting takes place every day at 6:30 a.m. and hauling in at sunset. The flag has a special national significance at this location.

As a bonus to the visit of the Acropolis, there is a Greek Flag flying proudly in front of the Parthenon. There is an elevated platform for tourists to have a top-down view of the city of Athens - truly a beautiful sight to behold! Provides a beautiful backdrop and hence good photo opportunities.

Beautiful lookout views of all of Athens from here! You can see the entire city. Better to go in the later hours of the day as it is crowded midday.

Located on a slightly elevated area on what appears to be a former tower on top of the Acropolis, the flag of Greece proudly waves against the blue sky. From here, you can get an amazing 360-degree view of Athens and Acropolis from all angles.

Nice place for the view. That's even better than the Greek flag ;). It is busy because space is limited, but you can see the entire city. The fortifications from the Ottoman period are also easily recognizable here. You can also admire the Parthenon from a great distance at the same height.

This makes for an incredible photograph platform. Short steps up to it and there are staff around to ensure you don’t stand on the walls. It provides a near 360 degree view of the city of Athens.

(Translated by Google) A great point shooting Athens. The Greek flag in the blue skies betrays the charm of this place. Classic view of the Parthenon and surroundings. It happens very crowded, but you can find a gap between tourist groups. It is necessary to go and look at the Athenian hills from this point. Just an unforgettable landscape.

This is (perhaps) where a Greek Soldier was ordered to take down the flag by the conquering German Army. He wrapped it around his body and jumped of the cliff.
