I’ve been to several Michelin star restaurants around Europe, however Soil is amongst the best if not the best. The attention to detail is amazing while the food was fresh and unique.I really liked their whole philosophy and how they use different herbs from their garden.I added the wagyu A5 which is an option and I would say was the highlight of the night.Keep up the amazing work!

Soil is extraordinary. Yes, they are and it is, that good. Their tasting menu (the only option) is a beautifully and thoughtfully composed culinary adventure that is clearly grounded in Greek tradition. We loved every bite. And their sommelier helped us to enjoy some shockingly fabulous Greek wines. Surely they are on their way towards their second star. And they deserve it. We will always be grateful for the magical evening.

The most beautiful experience at Soil with the whole team facilitating and greeting us from the second we walked in the building. Loved we got to pass by the kitchen where the whole staff were happily smiling and greeting us as we were led to our table on the second floor. The service was impeccable, the worldwide pairing was beautifully synchronizing with the dishes. I'm not going to lie, I was very full by the end of the experience and had to ask my bf to help me out 😂. But yes, definitely worth going to spend a lovely evening at Soil with the team facilitating all your needs. Favourite dish from the tasting menu? I would say the dry beef. Thanks for having us

Dine Athens did its magic and we visited Soil to try their menu for this occasion. The restaurant is located in an old neo-classical home which has been renovated and looks very beautiful. The food was awesome and all dishes tasted amazing apart from the eel-based which apparently is not my thing. Wine list had a lot of options in a wide price range and the one that we chose (suggested by the sommelier) paired perfectly with the food! Totally worth and we will visit Soil again!

Great experience. Ambiance is modern, young and relaxed. The House it’s a beautiful space that takes you far from the stuffiness of some other Michelin star places. Great flavors and preparation, loved the wine list and the organic skin contact recommendation. Will be back!

We dined tonight in the restaurant's scenic courtyard and were pretty amazed with the flavors and the presentation of our multicourse menu. The flavors were intricate and deep, full of herbal aromas, and we really enjoyed the playfulness and the theatrics of our meal. The overall culinary journey that we experienced tantalized all our senses. A big thank you to the Chef and his team!

Such a great entry in the Athenian restaurant scene. Michelin quality and price. I'm taking off one star for two important opportunities to improve a. The bread medallions were undercooked b.the black truffle that came extra on the main dish was old so with zero flavor(should not serve this). Well done again to the team. Cu soon

One of the best new entries on the gastronomic scene of Athens. The combination of flavors, textures and excellent products will blow your mind. Cherry on the top the excellent service, Athina and Vasillis made our night special. Great recommendation of wine from the sommelier. Highly recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Soil in Athens, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. This upscale restaurant offers an exquisite fine dining experience that left me speechless. First and foremost, the ambiance at Soil is simply stunning. The elegant decor, warm lighting, and tasteful interior design created a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a memorable evening. Now, let's talk about the food. The culinary creations at Soil are nothing short of exceptional. Every dish I ordered showcased the chef's culinary expertise and creativity. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was a work of art. From the perfectly seared scallops to the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu beef, each bite was a delight for the senses. The menu selection was diverse, catering to various dietary preferences, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. However, what truly set Soil apart was the impeccable service. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their craft. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel like a valued guest. The waitstaff provided insightful recommendations, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was tailored to my preferences. The attention to detail and the seamless execution of service were truly commendable. Furthermore, the sommelier's expertise was evident in the extensive wine list. They offered exceptional pairings that elevated the flavors of each dish, enhancing the overall dining experience. Lastly, I must mention the dessert selection at Soil. The pastry chef's creations were nothing short of divine. The intricately crafted desserts were a sweet finale to an already extraordinary meal. The balance of flavors and textures was remarkable, leaving me with a lasting impression. In conclusion, Soil in Athens exceeded all my expectations. The combination of outstanding cuisine, elegant ambiance, and exceptional service made it a dining experience to remember. If you're looking for a fine dining establishment that offers a culinary journey like no other, I highly recommend Soil. It's an absolute gem in the heart of Athens.

When my wife and friends and I started planning our trip to Greece, I started looking for my obligatory once-per-trip indulgent foodie experience. During my research, I found Soil and it pretty quickly became my choice because of the menu, the philosophy, the story, and the reviews. I secured a reservation and started looking forward to it. In short, it was everything I had hoped for, and it takes its place among as one of the most sublime dining experiences of my life. Everything from the first friendly welcome from the staff to the quick stop by the kitchen to meet Chef Tasos and his crew to the warm family feel of the dining area to the impeccable and highly choreographed service to each exquisitely plated artistic and magnificently flavorful dish was a joy. The sommelier’s wine pairings were perfect. The food was creative and unique; what fun it was to enjoy the results of the visions of a brilliant chef. I said “in short” then laid out an epic run-on sentence. I’m like that. I won’t go course-by-course because it won’t do the experience justice and I’ve used all of my thesaurus.com credits. I will say that both the squid course and monkfish course almost brought tears to my eyes. They were that divine. On a menu full of fabulous food creations, these dishes were the [insert word that is like sublime or divine…] highlights. Also, the juniper dessert course may be the single best sweet treat I’ve ever eaten. To quote Andy Samberg impersonating Nicolas Cage - “That’s high praise!” I have nothing but the highest praise for Soil. Go experience it for yourself.

Left the restaurant around midnight after arriving for the last serving at 9:30 pm. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was a bit hit and miss. Most of it tasted strangely sour, which threw off the overall flavor. Maybe it's a local thing, but I expected a more balanced taste. Not sure if I'll be back in Athens soon, but one visit to Soil is enough for me, at least for now.

From the moment you step through the doors, you are enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere, where the focus is on the purity of ingredients and the art of fine dining. The restaurant's philosophy revolves around the concept of "earthy gastronomy," drawing inspiration from the Chef's private garden in the village of Alepochori. Visited Soil Athens recently and was genuinely impressed. The staff were welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere right from the start. I tried their winter menu, and the food was outstanding, particularly the savory dishes which outshone the desserts for my taste. The flavors were well-balanced and truly showcased the quality of the ingredients. If you appreciate excellent food and friendly service, Soil Athens is worth a visit. The main courses from their winter selection were memorable and left me looking forward to my next meal there.

We had an amazing experience there! Everything was meticulous - the food, service, and the atmosphere. We reserved the chef’s table and really enjoyed it. We’ve never tasted those kind of tastes. It definitely deserve the Michelin star!

Great experience in all aspects. Food comes in small portions, one after the other like a journey through meat, fish and vegetables. A set menu goes through little gems that are like a feast for the taste buds and eyes. Relaxing ambience, we sat in the backyard and enjoyed our dinner among trees and herbs. What really stood out was the service that includes the warm welcome from all staff, including people from the epicenter of the restaurant (the kitchen). I could write more but it’s better to allow you to experience for yourself what was left unwritten.

One of the first best experiences I’ve ever had and I thought I would never attend to one of these type of restaurants. We’ve tried the Autumn Menu. I as a person who eats a lot expected how the food wouldn’t be enough.. i was so wrong. The food was amaaaaaazing, felt so elegant and rich. You could taste every ingredient if you put your imagination and taste buds together! The atmosphere of this place was giving me serenity. And it was what I needed after a long day at work. No music, just people enjoying their meal and wine. All employees are very kind, professional, very friendly, really stick to their job which gives intelligence. Its a must try!

Nothing more right! Wonderful place with a very positive aura. Staff trained, highly professional and always smiling. The dishes are all creations of a chef who loves what he does. Above all he knows what he does! A creative cuisine without "frills" which, in my opinion, is able to fully satisfy even the most demanding palates. An extraordinary journey the menu prepared by Chef Mantis who really managed to create a unique and special "Soil experience"! Congratulations to all because you are a fantastic team and thank you for making us spend a special evening!

Spectacular food, great service, cute patio. Every dish was delicious. Highly recommend it. The wine pairing is quite overpriced so if you’re not very big on wine, you could skip it and just order a bottle of your preference.

As expected the old "Hytra" chef has walked a step ahead in his own, personal, restaurant. The valet parking, the welcoming from the chef and the team, the lovely renovated old house, makes a nice impression and adds to the total experience. It is evident that there is attention to detail in every aspect of the restaurant. The service is impeccable with no-frills. The rhythm of serving the menu was really excellent. In the set menu cold dishes (starters) and desserts were breathtaking. In the main dishes, there were some weaker plates like the trout-salmon and an exaggeration in acidity on some other. (This does not apply to the heavenly goat). I didn't like the reminder of the waiter of how to leave a tip using my credit card while paying the bill. Also that the first wine I have chosen was not available. Finally that the wine list is overpriced both by the glass and bottle. All in all a truly great restaurant. Congratulations to the chef and the team.

Nice experience. Fair price and very good service. Most of the meals where very good, but the cod fish and the hamburger were not as we expected. The experience takes three hours. We choose the winter 14 courses meals , four of them were desserts

Very good service. Imaginative food and delicious. It definitely deserves the 1 star and the green star. The chef was so kind and responsive to individual wishes. Glad that he was able to substitute dairy cooked food with something non dairy. I recommend. And I’ll shall come back for summer. They have a beautiful outside seating in the garden.

I visited the restaurant on March 4th, 2023, a party of two people through the Dine Athens initiative. Service and decor was not on par with a Michelin star restaurant of this price range. Additionally, the fast pace of the dishes did not make me feel welcome. Regarding the food, my personal highlights were: the peas, the squid and the macaron. On the other hand, the scallop needed more acidity as it left a very salty aftertaste, the bread was very buttery and served with even more butter, the goat was chewy and the waffle with the carob did not present any innovation. I see the sustainability on the menu but I was not blown away by the taste. I would probably not visit again.

I don't generally do this, but I will make an exception: Do yourself a favour and go. This place is an ode to food. The combination of flavors, textures and ingredients are a study in perfection and creativity as much in the savory dishes as in the desserts. The quality of the experience was such, that it makes the single Michelin star it has been awarded so far to seem not enough. Just go.

Absolutely fabulous. Greeted at the door, introduced to majority of staff including kitchen. Each course explained well, great cocktails, very friendly and service just overall fantastic - each course was delivered with impeccable timing too. This is the 9th Michelin restaurant I’ve been to this year across Europe and this was the best so far. Highly recommend upgrading to Wagyu and Lobster courses. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Excellent experience! Great menu, creative and balanced. The place is one of the most beautiful in Athens. You enter an old, renovated house with a nice courtyard, as you pass from the kitchen and meet the chef and his team. There are many options for seating, in the difference spaces giving a different view and thus, a different experience. The service is exceptional, as you get all information needed for the dishes succeeding one another. Will definitely visit again soon.

This is one of the best resting Athens. We had the spring menue in the beautiful garden. Wonderful service and a very knowledgeable sommelier provided an outstanding 14 course dinner with amazing combinations of fresh and local ingredients. A must go for all foodies

Exquisite and creative flavours. The restaurant is housed in a neoclassical building with a lot of character and history which is a juxtaposition to the niche concept of the restaurant. The service is excellent and the pine dessert is out of this world. Friendly suggestion, dont go there starving as you will not enjoy the concept and flavours.

  • 5/5 Margarita B. 2 years ago on Google
Nothing short of spectacular! Loved every single dish - particularly blown away by the eel dishes and the pine and pear dessert! I hope at least one Michelin Star comes your way very soon - it would be very well deserved!
