Disgrace of a place went in with a few friends to have a nice night and listen to some music the owner then decided then to tell us to leave and slapped one of the people in the face. Would bot recommend this place

This is a very special place with a very special person in charge" Ann Flannery" she brings out the best of her clientèle by allowing Ballad sessions,Jazz nites,Open mic 🎤 nights, The Shannon story tellers, which are there to share there Stories and Poetry are freely expressed on there given nite, There is nothing more exciting then to enter this unique pub and saviour whatever the pub has to offer on the said nite. Thanks Ann 👍💖

This is a must if in Athlone as a character pub. 3 dogs in presence and the owner is totally what a host should be. Give it a whirl next time in Athlone.

I was a stranger when I walked in, but felt like a local after a very short time. Everyone was so friendly and the owner who I think was Ann was just one of the gang I'll b back.

Such a jewel of an old world bar, no pretentious decor or people here. Just great Guinness and company. Well worth a visit.

Attended for a friend's remembrance service, the owner and manager were fantastic and worked like demons all day long. The pub is rammed-packed with interesting trinkets and paraphernalia. If you're a local or ever visit Athlone I strongly suggest you give this fantastic little boozer a visit. Ann, thanks for a fantastic day you made a very sad day extremely memorable and gave R a very fitting send-off.

This is a great little boozer. Car broke down, wandered in, had some sinfully good Guinness and had a lovely yap with some mad fella from Utah. Lovely place

Hands down the best bar in Athlone! Thanks Anne for showing us such a good time, amazing music, craic and the three dogs were the cherry on top! I’ll be back!

Fantastic little Irish pub. Traditional and full of atmosphere. Arguably the best pint of Guinness in Athlone too.

👍👍 We were really impressed with our visit for lunch on Sun afternoon 3rd April. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman at entrance and promptly brought to our seating area. The meal was excellent and the waiting staff were attentive, cheerful, but not over powering! We would highly recommend a visit...

👍👍 This place was a beautiful mecca of craft beer in a sea of Guinness. They love what they do and are happy to chat about the beer. My family was grumpy until we found this place. Where else can you have a beer while looking out over a river at a castle? I loved the beer and the variety. It's a must v...

😠 The place smells of vomit, the toilets were horrific by 10pm and I've travelled in Morocco where toilets were a hole in the ground. The music best described as a bipolar roller-coaster. Feet sticking to the carpets, just really gross.
