I had a damn great time watching live jazz bands perform. Especially my favorite singer and actress Chandra Currelley from the movie Diary of A Mad Black Woman. Y'all don't know what y'all missed! I had a blast! Atlanta knows how to party!!!💖💯

Absolutely delightful stop on the route from ATL to downtown. We spent 2 hours, took the tour, and listened to 3 stories performed by the storyteller. I'd always thought Joel Chandler Harris was Uncle Remus, but no. JCH was a typesetter and writer who listened to the folk stories, wrote them and had them published. So much history here. It's a short, sweet stop. Recommended!

Visited as part of Phoenix Flie. Wasn’t able to stay for the storyteller but I heard that it is wonderful. Also found out why it’s called the Wren’s Nest.

Wren's Nest host a variety of events on their lawn. One event in attendance was Jazz Matters. Jazz Matters was presented by Smooth Jazz 101.1 WJZA-FM and sponsored by George and Janice Andrews of Capital City Bank. The lawn is emmaculate and a could hold up to to 500 attendees. The event had various seating arrangements of formal 10-seat tables, park benches and BYOC (bring your own chair). Parking is available near the facility. Vendors were present. Three restroom stalls were available. The only night lighting was from stage, which was great if you were close. Attendees would have to bring some type of lighting apparatus for tables, etc. Duke Ellington's presence will never evaporate in jazz and his renderings are timeless-great musicans were present. One of the event artists had mesmorized the crowd with Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass and Larry Graham.

The “store manager” insisted we wear a mask even though we’re vaccinated. I told her that was against the law and a hippa violation and she didn’t care. She aka “Kate” red haired and overweight the woman claiming to be the manager but when I asked her who her supervisor is she refused to tell me. I’m calling the BBB to report this store.

A museum that allows you to dig into the history of the west end area. They are dedicated to informing people of the “Uncle Remus” folklore. Check out the owl sitting in the corner of the museum.

Easy parking, nice house but limited staff and one or two visitors. The regular tour did not last approximately 30 minutes as stated in their site. It took only 10 to 12 minutes, very limited and they rush you out. Compared with other places and even free places such as Martin Luther King house in Atlanta, Oakland Cemetery and so on, I would not recommend this tour even for free.

Shhhh...Best kept secret!! This is the 2nd year in a row that I attended an event at the wrens nest. The westend community is a throwback. It's very warm and inviting, like an old school neighborhood. Saw Tweet perform (she was awesome), and gritz and jelly butter opened up and had us rocking!! Can't wait to see who'll be there next year! Shout out to Erica Carroll for her lovely table settings and complimentary charcuterie boxes and wine! Don't tell nobody else...

The storytelling is a must but you can read the stories. The house is in great condition. The Victorian Christmas decorations were outstanding hope they keep them up thru January 2024. The sad news is that home has gone to sleep till the new year. Ours was the last December tour.

Such a beautiful, historic site. Thankful they’re still requiring masks and looking out for their most vulnerable patrons. Felt super safe and welcomed.

Before disney co-opted these stories, JCH shared them with the world after learning them firsthand. It's worth a visit if you enjoy folk tales and history. Story time is at 1:00 every Saturday. Staff was incredibly gracious. Got to meet a couple of the story tellers afterwards. Thought it would be full of kids but it was actually adults for the most part - a plus in my book!

We have thoroughly enjoyed the Wren's Nest until now when we found out about the drag queen story hour. This is extremely inappropriate. We will never go back.

I’ve studied the Br’er Rabbit stories over the course of my entire life, and at 32 years old this was like a pilgrimage. Disney has done these stories dirty as there had been too much misinformation around these stories. Here is an ideal place to educate oneself about the tales from not only the docents that work there but also from the storytellers. All the staff was truly welcoming and attentive, answering questions not to mention allowing us to stay the entire day. They were enthusiastic about answering questions as well as openly discussing the controversy. The storytellers also were informative, welcoming, and willing to discuss the meaning behind the Br’er Rabbit tales. This place is worth your time and questions. It is worth your fact checking and your efforts to truly educate yourself (Twitter is NOT an education folks). Everyone who works here were incredible and thank you for having me and my partner.
