Service was good and so was the food, no complaints there. But I left feeling scammed due to this new policy. This Service charge does not go to the server, but rather the owner. The way the server explained it I thought it was a donation to the tenants across the street who had been affected by the fire, but by the way this letter is worded I highly doubt that. Not only does this 15% not go to the server, but when you are prompted to tip the amount is calculated AFTER the 15%. Not your pre tax total. Used to like this place, but I will never be back again.

Love this diner for breakfast! They have a great selection for omelets, pancakes and waffles. I had the apple pie. It was so good. Cinnamon and apple and fried. It takes about 30 minutes to make so make sure you have time and order first thing. The omelet was also great. We had Denver and it was delicious. Good coffee. Great service. Perfect breakfast spot.

The servers are incredibly nice but the establishment has a major gnat infestation. If you don’t mind swatting at gnats the entire time then help yourself. I highly encourage you not to dine at this restaurant at this location. I knew once I entered the restaurant that I should have left and went elsewhere. You can tell that it is poorly cleaned and not well maintained. Also, when you enter, they inform you that there is an automatic 15% charge, not gratuity, that is automatically added to your bill as the server reported that the owners would like to use that money to donate to an apartment building that’s located across the street that recently burned down. Overall, I could not finish my food as I lost my appetite looking at all of the bugs on the mirror, and those that were continuously flying on our tables even more so once our food arrived. Thumbs down for me.

Overall, this was an okay experience. The servers were nice and it really has that old school diner feel that you dont come across as often anymore. The food wasn't the best... like at all. I wouldn't recommend the ribeye steak. We ordered medium and got it well done, but the quality was so low, you wouldn't finish it either way. The eggs were okay, but indidnt loke the orange juice. I would try them at least one more test. But wouldn't order the same thing

This is from a cutting cutting board with black mold. Do you think you want to eat from this kitchen. Brought it to the attention of the manager attention and I was told to mind my on business basically. Then I was taken off the schedule. The cooks are nasty and filthy.

My girlfriend and I frequent this place. We go once or twice a month. If you want pancakes or a giant omelet, you should definitely stop in. I have seen people come for birthdays, events, after church... It is always packed on the weekends. My only reservations are the prices of some of the options. I find difficulty paying $15 bucks for two eggs and a couple slices of bacon. Whereas the same price you can stuff your face with pancakes or an omelet. Also, I have noticed during peak hours, servers take on too many tables by choice. Be ready to flag down your waiter for more coffee or attention. Not really an issue however. I will say they have been out of several things a few times I have been, which could be COVID-19 related.

Haven't ate her in 2 years...... let's just say those days are over. Small portions, no homemade syrup, no original butter. The cost was sure more though. The food was just so so. Sausage patties were about the size of a half dollar piece. I'll not be back until they bring back all the old stuff or never again.

I've been to The Original Pancake House multiple times before covid so today was my first time coming back since. The food has always been good but they have went down with the cleanliness. The windows, floors and ceiling are extremely dirty. It's so dirty to the point that when I was leaving I saw 3 little roaches crawling on the floor. We all know what that means when you see little roaches (a infestation). I wish I would've saw it prior to sitting down and eating because I would've left. I wish I would've took pics but at that point I was ready to go! I will not be returning..

Absolutely the best breakfast place in Atlanta. There is no better spot to drink coffee and eat seriously good breakfast food. Their menu has several unique items all of which are filling and delicious. The service is always great and the place is clean. Taylor is a phenomenal business owner and leader. I love going here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏🏾🐺

I was recommended several times to eat here, so today I tried it today 11/3/23. I’m sitting at the bar as I write this review. I was told it was a great gem to get food and had a good atmosphere with friendly staff. I review restaurants all the time so let’s get into it! First I was greeted by the host he said we ain’t got no booths you gotta sit at the bar. Ok, I followed him to the bar where a gentleman was eating his Togo order. The gentleman stated he come here all the time and thought it would be packed so he got it to go and wound up eating it there. I sat around 10:15am and guess wat not a soul came till 10:35 to even assist me. Ask me Why I stayed?! I wanted to take on the whole experience. The host looked at me 3x and proceeded to talk to other guests. Marie the waitress came around to get some water for other guests and happen to see no one had helped me. She said have you been helped? I stated no one has come my way in the passed 15min almost 20 minutes as I looked at my timer. I looked around and watched guest come in be seated greeted by their waiter and food ordered. People who placed Togo orders were in and out before my order was even placed. Marie helped me the best she could. I had a timer going from the time I was seated till I left. I ordered bacon, eggs and pancakes with potatoes. When they say thick bacon they mean it and it was tough and hard to bite. My eggs and potatoes were Cold. The only thing hot was the pancakes and the butter was able to melt. The pancakes were nothing too special same as IHOP. I guess if you are going to go come with a group you are treated better. I always tip well no matter if I’m by myself or with a group they only catered to larger groups. The treatment was very poor, I was sat at a bar where the pop/ soda machines are and they don’t even work. The host stayed on his phone and didn’t even attempt to get someone to assist me. I was going to bring a larger group for a breakfast meeting to this location but I will take my business elsewhere. Be careful how you treat people! I’m leaving now it’s 11:30am I’ve been here over an hour just to get breakfast. Thanks Marie for trying to assist.

You can’t go wrong here! Fun, diner atmosphere! Haven’t been to one of those in years and it was an experience. I had the corn beef hash, eggs over easy and cheese grits. Meal was on point! My friend ordered the pigs in and blanket (I’m not a pancake fan) and she enjoyed them. Definitely a place I’ll visit again!!

Okay I've been there twice and on my third visit this time we ordered banana crepes that said it came with pudding on the inside of the crepes and a BLT unfortunately the crepes came with bananas on top small whipped cream no cream inside and The BLT was hard very hard toasted toast burnt bacon, tomato and lettuce was okay. As we ask for a side of pudding the waitress decide to tell us oh we out of pudding my question was why didn't you tell us this before we ordered that but the senior I was with didn't want to start a commotion about it and just ate it I was not happy with any of this meal that I ordered that cost nearly $30. Maybe it was a bad day to go or maybe it was a bad waitress don't know but on All occasions it completely fell not to say that the water she brought me had dried up food on the side of it that was just like there she had to take the cup back and give me another drink. The first and second time was awesome and good I'm worried about this trend as they looked it busier and it was out of supplies.

This place used to be great, but it was soooo disappointing on my most recent visit. I used to really love this place and was looking forward to the treat. Their scrambled eggs are flavorless and taste like vegetable oil. Don’t get the crepes or Swedish pancakes— they were made too thin, crispy and crumbly and were impossible to eat. I won’t be back. I didn’t touch much and went to the nearby McDonald’s afterwards.

Terrible. I paid for my meal which cost $15.95 but the food was served as waffles house meal. Coffee cost $3 what a rip off. All total I spent $40 over dollars but food are lousy!! This location can't beat the one in Alpharetta which is pretty high end, nice ambience. This location is more like waffles house standard. I won't be back. The good doesn't worth the price they charged. Rip off!

$13 and change for a breakfast sandwich with only a turkey patty and eggs on an English muffin. Doesn’t come with a drink and I can’t substitute a side. I left. Ridiculous. They had to have raised their prices. I could go to The Flying Biscuit and get a better breakfast sandwich for like $5. They also stopped doing fresh squeezed orange juice and I have no idea why they still aren’t doing it. They blame it on COVID but what does that have to do with a machine squeezing juice out of oranges? Do better please

I typically dine-in here and enjoy it - usually borderline 4 star. Today I picked up for the first time and am disappointed for several reasons. First and foremost, I noticed that they charge an 18% service fee on pickup orders… why? My meal was an extra $6 because of this. Secondly, I ordered two scrambled eggs on the side and it’s pathetic - uploaded an image to see, it’s barely an egg. Finally, my wife had requested whipped cream and syrup, neither were included - how is syrup not included when you order pancakes and waffles? Will not pickup from here again, but will continue to dine-in.

The cutest spot ever! Our waitress Bella was awesome and extremely knowledgeable of the entire menu. We will definitely be back hopefully to sit in Bella’s section 😉

The Original Pancake House on Lavista Road near Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta, GA is one of my favorite breakfast places in Atlanta. This was one of my regular places when I lived in Atlanta ten years ago. Glad it hasn't changed except for my favorite waiter Bernard isn't there anymore. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite is the Dutch Baby. Still Excellent! Fun diner atmosphere, great food and excellent service. Definitely can't wait to come back.

Absolutely loved everything about this place. Has a very old school vibe. First time at an original pancake house. Food portion was great, service was incredible and their coffee was good unlike most other diners.

I picked up an order of Wings to go and a Waffle. The waffle was fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside, just like a Belgium waffle should be. My boyfriend was a 15-year waiter at IHOP, said they had the best Belgium waffle, but after tasting yours, he said THESE ARE THE BEST! We will see you again soon.

Went on a little breakfast date here . They were so friendly and the restaurant itself is very clean and the vibe is just peaceful . We ordered and everything came so quickly I didn't notice until after I stated eating how fast my pancakes were at the table. The waitress was kind and delightful would definitely eat here again 😻.....my guy friend chimed in on this it is cash only and they didn't have enough change for him when he paid. He asked for a medium burger but it came well done.

This was my 1st time here. I was not sure what I wanted to get. The waiter recommended that I get one pancake for each flavor I liked. So I decided to get the Georgia Peach and Coconut pancakes. Y'all I made the best decision here. The warm peaches with the whipped cream was great. The coconut pancake had toasted coconut with a tropical syrup. It really gave a tropical experience. I could see myself sitting on the beach in the warm sun eating my breakfast listening to the waves crashing and the birds chirping.

My food was burned unfortunately. The bottom was even MORE burned on the bottom. I guess they were hoping to hide that part. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because there were some parts that weren't exceedingly burnt that didn't taste bad. But the other parts were tough to get through. This was an omelette BTW incase you couldn't tell by the pictures. Will not be going back for anymore of their 'Famous Omelettes'. Accompanying biscuit also tasted days old and looked like someone sat on it.

First time being there and it will be my last. The food was Not that good, even the steak was tough like over cook to thin. $19.99 the eggs was not that great as well. Only thing that was really good was the sweet tea for me to see him pay $24 I was not happy about it because I'm trying to figure out what was tasting like $24 in here.. the service was nice the host was great very welcome but just not satisfied with the food. The pancakes are not that great it's more taste like it came out of frozen package.. I was just very disappointed especially what I paid out.

Food is good. Service and time to serve is also good. But what about this service charge? This is NOT a tip. The server carefully explained this charge. But it is unreasonable for the owner to be charging this and not letting you know until you are handed the check.

I have not visited in a while. Something seems different. The vibe was kinda "flat" this visit. The only complaint I have is that I got my food, but I had to ask for silverware. The bacon was kinda burnt. Probably was just a bad day. I will visit again. My son loves this place

I was kind of upset upset about being sat in the back when walking past a bunch of opened tables to get to my seat. Then the price of all this food caught me off guard but I guess it made sense once we got the food. The portions were huge and tasty so all was OK.

  • 4/5 Mangi V. 9 months ago on Google
Food was ok, but did not match the hype. I was disappointed in the blueberry pancakes. The restaurant itself needs heavy improvement. It has a 90’s look but with poor maintenance. The bathroom smelled really bad.

Today was my first time there. This establishment has so much potential to do better. To start my bacon 🥓 was blacker than the dead of night. My friends Hash has black burns from the grill and their bacon pancakes barely had any 🥓 bacon. When the manager came he asked if I told him that I didn't want it that way. This floored me. He was full of excuses for something that could have been fixed by cleaning the grill The last thing was the waitresses throwing the to-go plate on my friend's food. When you know better you do better. I'm just saying

Ordered the vegetable omelette, did not really like it, the waitress kept saying the tips on the the bill is shared pool not for her, I didn’t understand what she meant.

  • 3/5 Andy G. 1 year ago on Google
This place has potential, but seems to squander it every chance it gets. The food is good, but the service and price point just make it not worth it. Its not unusual for it to take 5-10 minutes to be seen by a server, and that's just to get coffee and drinks going. Prices are also approaching astronomical for a breakfast joint. 4 link sausages is $7! Not a meal, just the sausages. And on top of that if you do carry out they automatically add 18% to everything. For those price points I'm just expecting a little more than what they are providing.

Service is extremely slow at this location. There were only about three tables eating at the time, but the server would disappear for long stretches of time. One entree came to the table 30 minutes before the next, orders were forgotten, prepared incorrectly, etc. For example, the burger was brought out with nothing at all that was listed on the menu. Do yourself a favor and skip out on this location. We’ve been to The Original Pancake House locations elsewhere and had a decent experience though.

  • 2/5 Travis O. 1 year ago on Google
I’d heard great things about the original pancake house but this one wasn’t it. The servers were dressed up for Halloween which was cute but that didn’t make up for all the problem we experienced. The problems in question included: our table still being covered with food scraps when we got seated, the server forgetting multiple things we ordered, and the kitchen taking almost 2 hours to get us all our food. I would like to believe these problems were a result of the place just being understaffed but I’m not going to spend my money here again on an overpriced menu to find out.

  • 4/5 Sandra N. 1 year ago on Google
We had to wait 30 minutes to have breakfast here. There’s a waiting list to make sure you’re seated as soon as possible. I didn’t like the rush to make an order and after you’re almost finished because they didn’t even wait for us to ask for the check, they brought it when we were about to finish so by the time we had our breakfast we couldn’t get more coffee because we already paid so we didn’t have more service to our table. Other than that the pancakes were good. My friend was disappointed of the banana pancakes because they weren’t in the inside. I really liked the coffee here. The only but: there were ants in our table and on the wall.

  • 4/5 L. M. 2 years ago on Google
The inside appearance gives old diner vibes but The food and service is good. Prices are somewhat high in comparison to typical breakfast spots but if you’re like me eggs, bacon and grits must be perfect and they were.

Bacon is thick and cooked perfect! Their apple pancake was wonderful!

  • 5/5 Jackie G. 2 years ago on Google
The big APPLE PANCAKE is definitely worth a visit, and the freshly squeezed orange juice is a nice addition to the meal.

  • 4/5 Jayson H. 2 years ago on Google
The peach pancakes were absolutely fantastic and very filling! My girlfriend said the womens bathroom was disgusting though, there were bugs everywhere and only one working toilet also another thing is that tips are automatically taken out at the end of the order and are 18% always. We was going to leave a cash tip but was already taken out without us being told at the end. Overall the food was really really good though!👌

This was our first time here and we were very pleased. The wait time wasn't horrible. The food was delicious and our server Nisha was very friendly and professional.
