Not only is Georgia Tech a great school - it has one of the greatest pools in the county. The Georgia Tech pool was once the Olympic pool when the Olympic games were held in Atlanta in 1996. The competition pool is ten lanes/50 meters and is the perfect depth. It is a very fast pool. Seating is great for coaches and spectators. Attached is a diving well used for 1m,3m, and 10 m diving. Also in the facility is a great gym/workout area for students.

The gym is pretty nice, but there is not enough equipment for the population it serves. Unless you are coming pre-7am or after 10pm, good luck getting dumbbells between 15-35 lbs. There's usually a 15 minute line for power racks and 20-30 minute line for bench presses. It baffles me that the CRC spent tens of thousands of dollars upgrading the lobby (which was in fine condition), but will not buy more light-medium weight dumbbells. Whoever is in charge of purchasing should study what equipment is sitting unused even during peak hours (like 90lb dumbbells, of which there are two pairs) and what is in use fully even during slow hours (benches, lighter dumbbells, power racks, certain machines). A simple survey of gym users would suffice. Purchases should go towards equipment needed by students rather than beautifying a functional lobby. If Georgia Tech intends to keep increasing enrollment at the rate they are, the CRC needs some massive changes (or they need to build another fully featured gym on east or north campus-- or let regular students access athlete gyms hidden in sports facilities during limited hours). Currently there is cardio equipment scattered around the dorms on campus, but the machines are rarely used and cardio equipment is one of the least used amenities in the CRC. Converting some rarely used event spaces in dorms into essentially hotel gyms could be another way of alleviating some crowding by offloading some on-campus residents, although equipment available to all students regardless of residence would certainly be preferable.

Excellent place to work out, exercise, and get in shape. Has any piece of workout equipment you can imagine, as well as a swimming pools, basketball courts, indoor soccer areas, and so much more. Be sure to sign up for classes as well. The instructors are well educated and enjoy helping others exercise. It can get crowded at times. But the extended hours can help you pick a time to work around the crowds.

This is the best university gym that I’ve been to. UW-Madison gym is very comparable, but Columbia underground gym is a joke. You'll enjoy the Olympics standard swimming pool and wall-climbing. I heard the mini-golf simulator is also very cool, but I never tried it out. Another credit to the CRC online registration website, which makes social distance possible during pandemic times.

This is an excellent gym with all the equipment and facilities I need. All GT students know this already and I know many alumni who maintain an alumni membership after graduation particularly if you want to swim. Things can get pretty busy in the evenings as with any gym but there is plenty of space to get a workout in anyway. I’ve also rented portions of the facility for events and it has always been an excellent experience. The staff has been professional and more than helpful during planning and execution of the event. Parking can be a bit of a pain but as long as your guests know ahead of time we haven’t had many complaints.

Great campus and venue for swim meets. Can't beat a spot used by olympians. Parking is easy to figure out and buildings and facilities are well kept.

Absolutely gorgeous pool. Great facilities. Best of all… the stands are comfy stadium seats and the atmosphere isn’t like a sauna!

CRC is a world-class sports facility. It has: an olympic swimming pool, an olympic diving pool, a recreational pool with slides, a fully-equipped gym, a climbing wall, 6 basketball courts, two racquetball courts, one squash court, one badminton course, one golf simulator, several flexible studios for training group sports, a spinning studio, combat studios, vending machines, rest and study areas, a food court, an outdoor sun deck, and several help desks where you can borrow all the equipment necessary. It is a jewel for Georgia Tech students, staff, and alumni and their families.

Does not allow day passes for those visiting the area. We were in town for the weekend for a swim meet and wanted to get in a few work outs while waiting for events to begin. The staff said unless you know a member there was no way to use the gym. Many other rec centers around the nation have 1-3 day passes for visitors

Very nice rec center. Go here for diving meets, but if you're a student there seems to be a lot to offer. Squash, weight room, pool, diving well, track. All very modern and very well maintained. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times, but that's really anywhere around Atlanta.

I would give a 200/100 if possible. Basketball court, gym, swimming pool...Just cannot say enough of how good this place is. Btw, you will also have chance here to experience swimming in 50m-long Olympic track during summer semester.

Very well done for exercising and fun experience I just had. The basketball courts are so fun to play basketball at. The pools are even fun to join as well. The best part is their workout sessions. CRC is not just an average gym it’s a freedom for Georgia Tech students who can have fun and work out at.

This is probably an acceptable gym for students; but as an alumni, it is completely sub-par. It has the same equipment that was there when I was a student over a decade ago. It is not cleaned regularly (pieces of dust and dirt linger for weeks) and cardio machines are often malfunctioning. There are lines to use every piece of equipment so you could queue up behind ten or twelve people to use a bench press. The most frustrating thing is the off hours where they close over student breaks or around football schedules. For example, if there is a Saturday evening game, they will close the crc at noon. Despite paying for a parking pass, they have blocked off parking this weekend for a high school swim meet (something they don't do even for college football games). Again, it is probably okay to work around these things for students living on campus, but there are not any benefits compared to other commercial gym options, and clearly it is not operated with guest experience in mind.

One of the best gums in the country! Complete with four swimming pools, a water slide, badminton court, weights, jogging track, treadmills, rock climbing, and a mini golf simulator.

Very nice rec center—however gets busier year after year—they need to build a second one The Industrial Engineers who designed this facility back in the day thinking only 1-3% of the student body exercised here, now it is 5-10% and unless you don’t mind waiting for almost everything, you need to go in the early morning or early afternoon

Coolest pool ive ever swam in. Its so deep and they can change the depth with a machine that pushes and pulls the floor. Theres a diving board and even a rock climbing wall. All for $5 a day.

I've only used the fitness center and it's pretty good. There are a lot of racks for squatting and benching. Not that many machines though. For instance there is only one leg extension machine

It's a full size gym with literally everything you need and more. Even a golf simulator and rock climbing wall. And classes and stuff for so many different sports. Also has an awesome sunset view from the 4th floor Beat that, YMCA

State of the art facility! Our family loves attending events here. We lost a backpack there recently and guest services was very helpful in locating it.

I use it everyday. No dust, but the weights are never racked right, even at the beginning of the day. Some of the machines scare me a bit, like the seat will unlock while I'm benching at 45°(so it'll move down while I'm holding half my body weight). There are a lot of helpful resources, like the dead wedges and assisted squat rack, but still usually not enough of anything for everyone (except 110lb dumbbells, who uses those I swear)

Decent equipment selection and good number of benches/ squat racks, but not nearly enough for a school of 40k students. During peak hours, you can end up waiting upwards of 30 minutes for a bench or rack and end up having to decide your workouts based on what equipment other people are using. E.g. I haven't been able to do leg extensions yet this semester because there is only one machine. GT needs to take a note from other schools and either built more gyms or subsidize gym fees from other locations.

I miss the smoothie place before it closed :( the gym is great they keep it clean and have all the equipment and many floors for exercise and swimming.

Horrible customer service and ludicrous rules that make working out stressful. E.g. women cannot workout in sports bras, no olympic lifting, no using open spaces (specific workouts have to be done in specific areas only). Staff members are petty (which I think just reflects on the policies / their supervisors and what they've been told to do). I wouldn't go here if I had another alternative. One of the worst gym experiences I've had - working out & the gym use to be my happy place but not so much anymore. I don't know why it seems so authoritarian here, as if they're trying to run a tight ship with gym goers - we're paying customers but treated like subordinates which makes no sense to me. Decent equipment but not inclusive design. No stretching area. Few equipment for large range of sizes and heights so people w certain heights cannot use the equipment.

They have tons of equipment + the basketball courts are wild + the pools go hard
