Not Christian friendly (or some other religions). Makes it hard to enjoy when the organizers and audience spend an inordinate amount of energy mocking faith-based stories (which just seemed to be an opportunity to mock the faith itself). Before that began, one performer proudly pointed out her black pentagram necklace; then I noticed the goat's skull displayed on the wall with a pentagram behind it. Apparently that is an occult symbol--I had to google that to be sure. And all this inside a building that used to be a church...I spent more time in my seat praying for everyone involved, which is what I recommend for any of the faithful who enter this environment.

We always have the best time when we see a show at dad's garage. The Christmas Carol invasion is one of our favorites. My friends have been seeing it for years, and now I have made it a part of my Christmas tradition. The cast is super fun and I love that as they're performing they chuckle and laugh at the comedy that is taking place. The Christmas invader is usually very much in character and adds a something extra to the performance. Definitely a spot you want to check out on a regular basis. I strongly recommend making this a part of your holiday tradition.

Went to go see Wicket tonight and it was amazing! The vocals are insane, I am completely convinced one of the ladies is Opera trained. It was quirky, hilarious and so much fun! I love how they interact with the audience!!!

Our first visit to Dad's Garage surprised us with the quality of the sound and lighting. We saw the Atlanta Film Festival presentation of the indie film: Hundreds of Beavers. I look forward to going back for the comedy club. Also great restaurants nearby.

Great place for hilarious improv! They require and verify vaccine, have buckets of beer or wine, cocktails and snacks. We go yearly for Christmas Carol Invasion, where they do the usual play bit the actors are forced to deal with an invading character like the Ghostbusters or Frankenstein! I've also seen some of their scripted stuff also high rated. It's where I go when I need reassurance that humanity is not all together evil 😁😂

Specialties Amazing improv and scripted comedy in Atlanta - Dad's Garage performs almost every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night throughout the year. Oh, and a full bar filled with pun-tastic booze. They also offer improv classes, private workshops, and can be hired for special events. History Established in 1995. Dad's Garage Theatre was started by a group of nine guys from FSU who moved to Atlanta to do the kind of theatre they wanted to see. Since then, Dad's has grown into a professional theatre with a full artistic and administrative staff. We now entertain more than 30,000 people every year at out theater in the Old 4th Ward and events all around the world. Now a fixture in the Atlanta arts and comedy scene, Dad's Garage has won Best Theatre and Best Improv Troupe in Creative Loafing many times. Oh, and we're totally a non-profit, so throw a couple extra bucks in the tip jar next time you visit us if you can.

This place is a fantastic way to spend an evening. Every show is different but all are extremely entertaining. And the staff are a group of great people.

First time at the pop up drive in and it was SO much fun and very easy navigating around the streets. Bring some refreshments (or better yet buy some), bring your portable radio and enjoy the show. Thank You, Plaza and Dad's Garage!!

Let’s face it, comedy clubs can be hit or miss. HOWEVER, I have never been to a bad show at Dad’s Garage. It has quickly become my favorite place for improv in Atlanta. From the content/programming, the location, the people - every part of the experience great. Plus, the prices are just right. We’ve loved it so much, my wife is trying to get me signed up for the improv classes… Definitely check it out!

Fantastic space. Fantastic people. The downstairs is a great box office and hangout space. There's plenty is room, feels comfortable with plenty of personality. It's also used for smaller, more intimate sets. The main stage upstairs is beautiful and can seat a few hundred. The chairs are comfortable and even have cup holders. The sound system and lighting are impressive, too. This is not a small improve comedy club, it's a fun theatre with an inviting, warm community of people. I highly recommend checking out the shows they produce.

I brought a couple of my Murderino friends here last Friday for some My Favorite Murder Improv, and Dad's Garage did NOT disappoint! Location was a short walk from Krog Street Market, the drinks weren't overpriced, there was popcorn, and not a bad seat in the house! The show itself had me rolling in laughter and I will definitely be back.

Fantastic shows with a wide variety of improv styles and formats, special guests from the comedy world and opportunities to get involved. They run classes and have a pipeline to get involved in the performances that varies from beginning to intermediate to expert and are exceptionally welcoming. A well served bar, good covid protocols, comfy seating with a better raked view than some theatre-theaters and a gaggle of cute stray cats that live in the parking lot.

Really nice venue for live shows. The main stage has good seating and view from pretty much any seat. The show I watched was very enjoyable so it definitely seems like they know what they're doing with booking. I'd definitely return

Really fun place to spend an evening!! We’ve seen several shows and all have been really good. Very reasonably priced drinks and snacks too. If you get inspired, they also do improv classes!

Have never seen a bad show here (and have probably been to 20 or so). Also took lessons for some time. Best improv club I’ve been to - we are lucky to have this gem in Atlanta!

I've rarely laughed every minute of a play before. This performance of Invasion: A Christmas Carol was unbelievably funny!! In fact we were all so impressed, we're planning on coming back next year and bringing a bus-load of friends!! I could not imagine who would be the invading character in our matinee yesterday, but Princess Bubblegum could not have been more perfect. If only Dickens himself could see some of these hilarious performances!!!

Hadn’t been back since before the pandemic but returned for Y’allmark Christmas and it was so hilarious. Had a wonderful time and definitely planning to return soon. Do not miss this show or this talented ensemble for other shows!

The spot for improv in Atlanta. Just caught a friday night show since the pandemic, and they have not lost a step. Energetic, hilarious, and crowd pleasing. Had a great date night.

Where did all the legend comedians go? Everyone seems new and the stage has nothing on it to set the stage? Still makes you laugh but the improv went from a 10 to a 5.

Really great for people visiting town. Saw the Invasion Christmas special. Completely worth the money.

Honestly how can you not love this place. The play was an 11/10. The actors are amazing, the staff were all smiling, the drinks were cold, the comedy was unmatched. Definitely will return and have recommended them to everyone I know.

Absolutely loved it! Popcorn was great and the jokes just kept coming, could not stop laughing. Thinking of making this a weekly date night thing.

My wife and I were visiting ATL from another state. We just happen to see this spot when looking around the area on google maps. I love comedy shows but have never been to one in person. We came here and are obsessed with it! Loved it so much we attended multiple shows on different nights during our stay. They have a big parking lot so that’s a plus. I have never laughed so hard in my life. The audience was full of people of all ages, gender, and race. This is an art form that translates to a wide range of people. Get ready to be caught off guard and expect the unexpected. Really cool that they give a special shoutout to all the volunteers during the show too. We will 100% be back. And it would be cool to see other locations pop up in the future 👀 We spoke with TIM after seeing our last show and he was great. Took time to talk about the history of their program and gave us recommendations on what else to visit on our trip
