Service was great! Food was amazing and reasonably priced! The portions are good, I had ham & cheese sandwich half portion. It was also clean and neat.. I can't wait to visit again an try more.

Definitely won't be going back to this location. The Highland Bakery-Decatur is a completely different world with different quality standards. I made a pickup order (arrived as soon as the email told me) and my Fried Chicken Biscuit was barely fried, sad, and soggy. The box my food came in was also dirty (see photo). I didn't order fruit or lip-gloss with my meal so no explanation for the stains. Customer service was mediocre and they weren't even busy. Don't waste your money.

Great service with good portions of food. The Italian veggie sandwich with the white-bean chili was great. The roast beef is a classic that can't go wrong. It was also good.

I visited this location for the first time today (11/12/18). My Mango Tango smoothy was tasty and made quickly. It's a convenient location being in the same building as all of my professor's offices. The staff was neither friendly nor unfriendly towards me, but they did seem very unhappy to be there. They were certainly ready to go home when I ordered my smoothy at 4pm. I wonder if that is due to the quantity and volume of the country music that was playing. Typically most cafes have easy listening music playing at a reasonable volume, not this establishment. During the 30 minutes I was here the lineup consisted exclusively of country music being blasted at a level that would make a bar in southern Georgia proud. (Loud enough to hear through my headphones.) Hopefully if you visit this location you're planning on a quick in and out. Otherwise you'll probably be as ready to leave as the employees by the time your coffee cools enough to drink.

It was okay. The sandwich I had was called the Mediterranean and while it was good, it was expensive.

Wow! My co-worker and I were running an errand on our lunch break when she pointed this place out. I love decor. I wasn't going to have anything but she insisted. Glad to say I did. I loved it. I'm making plans to bring my wife/foodie as soon as possible.

Used to be my go-to spot, twice a week, for several years--until they changed ownership. The menu changed (they got rid of the best sandwich: the Hill Grill). The food is not great, especially for the price. I spent $20 for a fried chicken sandwich that was mediocre at best--it was so dry and tasteless I didn't even finish it. The place is not very clean (boxes out, clutter on the counters, and a general look of untidiness). But mostly, it's the staff. Every time I've gone in, they treat me like I'm a bother. I'm very nice to service staff (I worked in the service industry for many, many years), but they are SO RUDE. They have no hustle and no sense of awareness about what needs to be done. They never say hello or smile. The last time I was there (which is the last time I'll ever go!) the girl practically threw my cinnamon roll at me WITHOUT A WORD after I asked nicely if I could have it since I'd been standing there waiting on it for at least five minutes and there was only one other customer in the place (and that customer was in line AFTER me). They won't make it long with such terrible service and overpriced, mediocre food!

This place is so mid. I had the cinnamon roll and tell me why it was a whole grain 😭. Honestly I’d rather get the 6 pack of cinnamon rolls from IKEA bc this was not worth $4.99. The cinnamon roll was bad but the coffee was even worse. I got the pumpkin spice latte and I don’t know if it’s the artificial pumpkin spice flavoring or the coffee itself but it tasted like soap and chemicals. It honesty smells fine and smells like pumpkin but the taste was rancid. So overpowered by the bitter and artificial flavors that I can’t even taste the coffee or pumpkin.

I want to first state that I LOVE Highland Bakery. Their location on Highland Ave is great. I have only ever had positive experiences there, however, the downtown location is a mess. I work at GSU so it's exciting for me to be able to walk to one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants, but my last 2 experiences have determined for me that I will not return. Today I went by to order a hummus sandwich with no tomatoes, no onions, to eat there. I wait 25 minutes, they start calling for a to go order that's ready, so I walk up, 3 of the staff are huddled around the pastry case talking, when they notice I am standing there I let ask if that's my food and I had ordered my food to eat in the restaurant. I take my food, sit back down, and the sandwich has onions on it, the cheese is cold and hard, and 2 of the other items that were supposed to be on there are not. This was really disappointing as I had spent nearly my entire lunch break waiting. I took the sandwich back up, let them know it was wrong, and requested a refund. There were no apologies offered and I left because I did not have time to wait for another sandwich to be made. Very disappointed as I had a similar experience the visit before, but decided to give them another chance.

The barista working here looked like she just woke up from a nap mid-shift.. Wasn’t present near the barista station for a good 5 minutes and was seen walking around the place clueless, she also lost my ticket as well as another customer’s and her demeanor of her job looked uninterested. Worst part of this disappointing experience was when she got my order wrong (I ordered a large not a small), and she had the audacity to pour the content of the small cup into the large, then pour a small amount of milk and handing it to me. I DID NOT paid extra for a large only to have a tiny bit of milk added. Never coming back.

Got the grilled cheese w/ avocado. Wasnt bad but it wasnt the best either. It saved me from starving, but keep your expectations low. My real issue with this place was quality of service. The man at the register obviously showed how he didnt wish to be here. Next time I wont tip. Or actually wont come. And then I took my # to the table and the cleaning lady just randomly came over and took it!? A few minutes later my food comes out and another lady is searching. I see her asking the register and since I barely speak spanish I realized she is searching for my #, 17. Not sure why the cleaning lady randomly took my # setting. She did not do that with the other tables. Discrimination or just simply hatred towards the #17? Unsure. Odd behavior and food isnt worth coming back to find out what her problem is.

I have tried numerous times to give this place a chance, but whenever the older guy is working the counter I'm very hesitant about getting anything. He is not the cleanest person. I came in one time and his nail beds were dirty. He puts on a glove but I never see him wash his hands between taking money and serving customers. Today, he wore a glove on one hand but not the other a was rubbing his head and scratching himself with the gloveless hand. Then used the gloved hand to pick up the food but the other hand to grab utensils which is not sanitary considering he didn't wash his hands. In addition to that I asked if the muffins were fresh and he said they were but the one I had was hard as a brick and I couldn't eat it.

Terrible broccoli soup, looks like hummus and tasted like it had been left in the fridge for days… the cheesy bread and sandwich are not appetizing at all. Waste of money, left there with a half empty stomach

This bakery is directly connected to the advisement center so it’s a good place to get a coffee, a quick meal, and have a study date. This is a spot that you would go to if you wanted a quick bite between classes, but I would not go out of my way to come here again. The white mocha is pretty tasty but nothing special. If you’re near the advisement center and you’d like a meal, it’s a pretty quiet spot. Otherwise, you’re not missing out on much.

I ordered the Ultimate Fried Chicken Sandwich, which was awful. It was suppose to have the jalapeno focaccia bread instead it was white bread toasted. I only got one piece of the fried chicken cut in half instead of the two pieces cut in half. I paid $12 for this mess.

I like this restaurant for the convenience yet overpriced but I continue to experience rudeness by the young lady who always takes the orders. She just handed me my food as if I was bothering her yet it’s her job to have some kind of customer service and she clearly lacks this important skill.

Got the fried chicken biscuit and added pimento cheese. The biscuit was a perfect texture & the fried chicken was crispy and good ratio to the biscuit! You’ll bring the flavor over the top by adding the pimento cheese.

There are not enough stars to say how good this was. Food absolutely delicious. Place was clean and service friendly. Atmosphere perfect.
