Came back 30th June 2021 - No Complants, amazing service, delicious food! Stop looking around for breakfast! This will be your goto spot if you’re willing to make the trip sense it’s at the far end of Tropicana on a local street. I had previously assumed Coastal Craft at Harrahs was the best in the area until I came here. First off the coffee was not like any other, less caffeine potent and very smooth/light taste. The eggs were done medium just as I like em, the bacon was crispy, the potatoes were toasty, and I’m not one for pancakes but hungryman comes with them so I got the Banana Pancakes and they were slamming. My girl loved her French toast as well with a side of bacon. On top of our waitress being attentive, the entire staff was as well ensuring we were good every few mins. Everybody was on the same page working unison with 100% satisfaction guarantee. I did not feel uncomfortable here at all. Felt just like any ordinary customer which I loved about the place being fact me and my girl are Hispanic and Black. They treat everyone the same here and for that if I can give more than 5 stars I would. Last thing which is the icing on the cake is the price point, every other breakfast in the area the bill was no less than $60 but here I paid $28 (2 individuals) for amazing food, excellent service, chill atmosphere, and outstanding staff. If they doubled the price I wouldn’t even care, hopefully they don’t increase the price lol. Def plan to come here again sometime soon when I revisit AC.

Great experience! Fantastic food and we had a exceptional waitress. She was very nice and attentive to our needs despite being super busy and shorthanded. The food was GREAT! Earns a rare 5 stars from me.

Enjoyed a great breakfast at Gilchrist diner. I had the hungry man combo #2 which is 2 eggs, 2 pancakes 🥞 grits and choice of meat. I had the cooked sliced ham. The pancakes are amazing, lite and fluffy with crispy edges. The type of syrup served in a unmarked cannister is Smuckers syrup. (I asked the waitress) They give you a nice small side plate of butter for your order as well. There was a slight line to get in, but the wait list moved nicely. The staff is friendly and the service is fast.

DELICIOUS! When I come to Atlantic City I always enjoy eating breakfast here. They have a wide variety of options from pancakes to French toast. All of your breakfast favorites. They serve you fast and the food comes out warm and delicious. They usually have a wait from around 20-40 minutes in the morning so come early.

This place was okay. We ordered a cheesesteak, ceasar salad, and reuben sandwich. We ordered the reuben without sauce, but it came with it anyway. We asked to have it made again. The food runner gave us a hard time saying that was not on the slip. She later apologized as the slip said no sauce instead of no dressing. The attitude was not necessary. The cheesesteak did not fill the roll. Salad was good. I would not need to go back.

This place is a hidden gem 💎!!!!! We had breakfast and everything was on point!!! Especially the blueberry pancakes!! These are some of the best pancakes that I've ever tasted!! When you come, be prepared to wait. We had to wait approximately 25 minutes to get a table but we weren't bothered by that, to us that was a great sign to see that there was a wait to be seated. We definitely found our new breakfast spot in Atlantic City. Check the aftermath photo. FYI: they also serve more than breakfast

Excellent choice for breakfast. The waffle special comes fresh cut fruit and whipped cream, delicious. The spinach, crabmeat & cheddar omelet was fantastic. Service was excellent. I'd definitely return again.

A true hidden gem! This "retro diner" style restaurant sits on the Chelsea side of the Tropicana. They feature breakfast and lunch options. The food was served quickly and was very tasty, (especially the pancakes!) Also, the employees worked together to ensures diners get great service. The prices are very reasonable as well. I definitely recommend this place. Will definitely be back!

Came here with a group of friends for my birthday and we had a great time. We ordered all of the appetizers to share and we each ordered a different entree, it felt like we ordered the whole menu literally! It was a great birthday and we even had leftovers that we took to the room.

I was very pleased with everything that they had to offer other than their drinks selection was lacking. I believe they ran out of several things, but I understand that everything is a supply chain issue. In the current world. There was a pro/con offset the pro being the blueberry pancakes were absolutely exceptional, but the con were the grits which tasted like paste. So I'm giving it a four star overall because they tried their best and the pancakes were that banging

Just had breakfast at Gilchrist and feel the need to warn people. I had a 2 egg with cheese sandwich on a roll and bacon. The roll looked and tasted freezer burned.Horrible. The cheese was some kind of white goo that may have been some kind of processed cheese product.Unrecognizable.The bacon was OK if you like very well done crunchy bacon. My husband had blueberry pancakes which turned out to be thin, more like crepes. The only reason I give 2 stars instead of zero is the staff are friendly and service is fine.

First time eating at this restaurant at the hotel. Food was a 8/10. I ordered the bacon egg n cheese sandwich with home fries. I wish the home fries came out hot. They were warm. Overall the food was good. The waitresses were friendly and excellent. Only gripe is that tables were too close. Need alittle more space between tables.

Breakfast of Champions! I will never look at pancakes the same way ever again! lol I ordered a blueberry pancake - it was crispy, soft and so flavorful. Yum! Also had a crab, spinach and cheese omelette with a side of sausage. So dang good! The grits were just OK - really no taste. I like my grits made with milk or cream. I will say that no waitress/waiter checked on us after our food was provided. That's why I am giving this location 4 stars and not 5.

Diner experience was welcomed. Gilchrist keeps it SIMPLE, GREAT FOOD with GREAT SERVICE! Had to wait 30+ minutes but DEFINITELY worth the wait. Pancakes didn't weigh me down. But, most importantly from the time we put our name on the waiting list, seated and our orders were taken, each and every staff member greeted us with a SMILE! A FABULOUS way to START our day! A MUST-VISIT!! OH, I forgot I had the HUNGRY MAN SPECIAL!

Basic diner for breakfast or lunch. Nothing special. Patty Melts were tasty. Fries were average. Service was good and fast. Long wait time for seating on a Monday early afternoon so we opted to sit at the counter. The worst part is getting there on foot from the Tropicana casino floor. Up 2 escalators, across a walkway then down an elevator and through an adjacent hotel. It was a pain in the neck, quite a long walk and not worth the hassle.

Big hello when we got there, coffee on point. Friendly attentive service. I had the hungry man’s breakfast with scrapple and blueberry hotcakes. Top notch scrapple, crispy brown outside and creamy peppery inside. Eggs just right, over easy as they come. Hotcakes delivered. Jen had the basic BECH (bacon, egg, and cheese) on a Kaiser roll. Happy start to a beautiful day.
