Went there for lunch. The musty smell when the elevator door opened was like a punch to the face. The hostess sat us but we were so grossed out by the smell and how the place just seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned since the twenties. We got a dirty, wrinkled paper specials menu. If you’re gonna charge $17 for a club sandwich, at least have fresh, clean menus. The regular laminated menu hadn’t been wiped in ages. We couldn’t bring ourselves to order and eat there. I still got diarrhea.

To begin with, the 15-minute wait for the ancient elevators were apparently a foreshadowing of the wait for our meal. Although the hostess greeted us warmly and thanked us in advance for our patience given their understaffing, we were still unprepared for the length of time it would take to get our entrees. The server, bus boy, and manager were all apologetic, but we were never once offered a complimentary cocktail or appetizer throughout our more than one hour wait. While we sat waiting for our meal, we took the opportunity to read up on the Claridge Hotel and its former celebrity history. One can certainly imagine the grandeur that this establishment once enjoyed. Unfortunately, the current decor including tables, carpeting, and vinyl covered chairs, lead the diners to believe that it’s well past its heyday. And more unfortunately, the mixture of false reviews made it difficult in advance to know which were actually true. When the food finally arrived, more disappointment ensued. The broccoli rabe was cold and the spice/garlic oil in which it sat was poorly distributed. The chef took an extra heavy hand with the parsley and other spices when plating, which led me to doubt that there was actually a chef in the kitchen. While the ravioli with mushrooms was tasty, it shouldn’t have taken over an hour to be served. The bright note of the meal was our escape from the hotel down the fire escape stairwell, happily avoiding the 20-minute wait for the elevators. A sense of accomplishment and freedom was immediately enjoyed once we hit the street —- less $130.

Where to begin. We were extremely excited to try this place given it's history. But once we got here, we found a place that was visibly filthy (there was a brown stain covering most of the cushion of one of our chairs), a dismissive staff, and food that is among the worst we've had in a very long time. After waiting half an hour or more for the elevator, we got to the restaurant to then have to wait 20 minutes to be seated. It was odd to have to wait so long to be seated in a restaurant that was almost completely empty... Then came the food. We wanted to order eggs Benedict, but were told that they didn't have any English muffins and wanted to substitute bread. We decided to try that, but bread isn't a good substitute for English muffin. But then we got our meal and the white of the egg was like water and completely uncooked. The ham was so thin it was like a piece of lunchmeat, and we just couldn't eat it. Honestly, the best part of our meal was being able to leave.

One star is beyond generous considering the offensive price for the repulsive quality of food. Our first red flag was the fact that opentable had every reservation time slot available for this place on a night where every single halfway respectable restaurant in Atlantic City was completely booked and not accepting walk-ins. We thought, perhaps, that we had stumbled upon a diamond in the rough given the fact that this purveyor of barely edible food is in a fairly upscale 3 star hotel, The Claridge. Upon arrival, we were seated in an almost completely empty room complete with misplaced drop ceiling tiles and "Italian" decor from the interior of your local carnival ride. Despite the glaring red flags, we pressed on in the hopes that we'd be pleasantly surprised, however, our night of disappointment had only begun. First, the menu is very limited and uses deliberately obscure terminology for the dish names and descriptions in a tacky attempt to feign quality. The price is what stuck out to me despite the otherwise casual atmosphere. The bread was so stale and rock solid it nearly chipped our teeth when we bit into it. We decided on the calamari to start. I knew that it would be off when I saw the marinara sauce in a plastic cup. The calamari had the consistency of bubble gum and was 90% squid pieces (which I hate). My girlfriend ordered the caesar salad with crab meat. She reported that it was excessively salty and that the crab meat was obviously imitation. I ordered the veal parm with a side of meatballs. The veal was overcooked, the pasta that came with the dish was weirdly thick and it looked like the kind of noodles that you'd get at an asian restaurant except it was covered in burnt prego tomato sauce. The meatballs were also obviously frozen and tasted like what you might get in a subway meatball sub. The staff was friendly but somewhat unprofessional. They were carrying on loud, mildly inappropriate conversations near our table. I honestly feel scammed and I'm mad at myself for agreeing to even pay for probably the most disappointing meal I've ever had. Will never return.

One of the more affordable restaurants in any casino in AC but we selected it because my wife really wanted Italian food. We were not disappointed! Seats were available for us without reservations and we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was with us quickly, filling our water glasses and offering other drinks. There were two dinner specials that came with house wines and both looked good and were inexpensive but we ordered off of the (short) menu anyway. Once we ordered, rolls came out with a delicious garlicky olive oil and butter as well. The rolls were a little "crunchy" (fresh but perhaps over toasted?) Our salads came out fairly soon afterwards, tasty and good sized. Our attentive server kept our glasses full, the table cleared and the food coming. Entrees were large and tasted good. My wife's was a little more oily than she would have liked but she said it tasted good and had no real complaints. We finished with excellent espresso and a very tasty dessert. So four stars not five but we would definitely go back! Very happy with our choice of restaurant. Loved the 1920s theme, too. Pros: location, cost, ambiance, great staff, portion size. Cons: limited menu, good (not great) food but still a winner for AC!

We had Saturday 6:30pm reservations. The place was not very crowded. When we arrived there was a couple in front of us requesting to be seated. The hostess (also the bartender) told them is was going to be a 30 minute wait, the kitchen had them stop seating. So it didn’t matter if we had reservations or not, we weren’t getting seated until the kitchen told them it was okay. When we got seated our waitress was very nice. She apologized for the wait. She was definitely over worked. We ordered appetizers, they came out at a decent wait time. But when it came time for our dinner to come out, we had to have been sitting there for an hour between finishing appetizers and receiving our dinner. Again the waitress apologized for the kitchen. You could tell she was doing her best but she was probably the only one there doing her best. Food was okay tasting. I had the chicken franchise. It was good until 4 hours later I got very sick with food poisoning. Our whole table ate the appetizers and were fine. I was the only one who got the chicken franchise and got very sick from it. I think this restaurant needs some serious help with managing the reservation times, receiving food times and how long the food has been sitting. I definitely believe the food poisoning could have been prevented if this place wasn’t so understaffed. The only reason I’m even giving this a 1 star is because the waitress and solely because of her.

Hello everyone. While staying at the hotel i visited this restaurant. Nice place. At list the best at this hotel. Good food. Good drinks. Not extremely expensive. The only thing I was really disappointed - no-one told me that my foot would be hot spicy. No any mark at the menu. I would go here again - but not the best. Good atmosphere. Nice music. Nice friendly stuff. Good service. Peace

The chicken and waffles was delicious! The waffles weren't crispy, but they're definitely homemade and so good. The seasoning on the waffles is amazing! It's crispy and fresh. The coffee was not good. It wasn't fresh, it's too strong and it just is terrible. The turkey bacon wasn't great either; it wad cold. But it's a nice atmosphere and worth visiting.

This restaurant is very elegant, I had Breakfast and Dinner here and was please with both the food and the service. The manager was there to greet us both times and she was very pleasant. This place definitely gives you a feel of the Rat Pack years.

Visited this restaurant during my stay at The Claridge. The eggs Benedict was slightly bland but nothing a little added salt couldn't fix. I understand that they are cooking for everyone with everyone's health in mind. The next time I had breakfast here, I had pancakes with toast and over medium eggs as requested. It was delicious. No complaints here and food was reasonably priced in my opinion. Also, I didn't wait long to be seated but then again I came here during the off season (November).

Pierre our server was OUTSTANDING!!!! We came for breakfast Saturday and because of his exemplary service and of course the great food we came back Sunday. To our delight we got Pierre again and again the same remarkable service. Pierre is an exceptional server, and an amazing addition to your staff.

The food at Twenties was Phenomenal, Excellent & Fantastic. I had the greatest server ever. Who treated me like family as I was on vacation there. Her name is Sue. She made me feel so Welcome with an Excellent & with a warm Vibe of gratitude. She approached my table with a beautiful & warm Smile. And greeted me with EXCELLENCE. Everyday for breakfast, I asked about her and wanted her to seat me. Thank U Sue. I will return back on my next Vacation and will ask about U. I love that place.

This restaurant has never let me down. Always clean and cozy with some nice views in the right seats. Service and food is always spectacular. They have real fresh brewed iced tea that's always good. My most recent I tried the chicken and waffles special they had. It was hands down the best I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly fried and super juicy. I don't even know how to explain the waffle but it was incredible. I always look forward to going here when I'm in Atlantic City.

Food is very limited and restaurant was quite empty. Location is mainly accessible to hotel guest. Must take room elevators to locate. Atmosphere is and old school style which we liked. The server was great he communicated well and was very professional.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely dinner here. We made reservations for 7pm on a Saturday in January and the restaurant was not busy at all. I ordered the chicken francese and he ordered the steak. We both cleared our plates so the food was good! Giving it a 4/5 because I wish my meal came with more noodles. It was also a little expensive— the steak didn’t come with any sides so he had to order them à la carte. Don’t let the negative reviews deceive you because we had a pleasant experience. We will definitely come back again!

Staying at the claridge hotel and decided to try the restaurant for breakfast this morning. We ended up with server Pierre. He is an amazing waiter as well as an exceptional person. Due to his excellent service and recommendations we decided to do dinner. Went back for dinner and got Jose as our waiter. The bread was old and hard but the cooked food was good. Overall great service.

We got dessert to go from being so full. Cannolis are amazing, so delicious! They will not disappoint. Our server was very attentive and sweet. Waited longer than preferred for our meals but food was worth the wait.

One of my worst dining experiences in Atlantic City. We ordered the mussels with a spicy white wine sauce very misleading the sauce was more like a creamy fettuccine sauce. My boyfriend ordered the steak siciliano he said it tasted like a tough piece of leather. The only positive to our dining experience was our server Susan who tried to make things right. Waste of money and time! Don’t bother

It took 1 1/2 hours for our meals to come out and they were cold. The server was very apologetic and felt bad. He did everything to try and make it right. The manager took 20 minutes to come to our table after we tried tracking him down. The guy was dressed in a tshirt and jeans while the rest of the staff was dressed up. The food was eventually comped but never will go back there! Advise to owner...promote that server to manager!

Terrible service, food tasted and appeared to be tv dinner quality, and took over hour to come out. Only offered water waiter never came back to ask if we wanted anything else to drink and our water was never refilled. Food came out lukewarm. Bread sticks were delicious, we were served 3 breadsticks for our table. Chicken not completely cooked. 3 stalks of asparagus. Terrible anniversary dinner( at least we're still married!)

I literally just walked out of this place!! We came in at 11:14 asking how long until breakfast. They told us 11:30 so we sat to eat. The hostess picked a nice window seat. It was not until 11:28 that we walked out. We were never greeted by a server or even bought a glass of water!! After sending people to this place all weekend just to go myself upon my departure I was very upset!! I was not going to have anyone rush my food order because they were not aware! There were only 3 other tables being occupied so this should have have happened!!!

Worst ever restaurant I have ever been, it is an insult to Italian restaurant. Please shut it down if you do not how to cook, one thing appreciated was our server that’s all. Too much salt in the appetizer then in the entree Chicken Marsala was too salty, returned it back and ordered Chicken Franses which had hair in it. Big shame!

The staff here is very friendly. But the food was awful and expensive. My chicken Marsala was okay, but the Branzino smelled so bad we had to send it back. The Pappardelle Nonna was extremely salty, the spinach ravioli was served in a heavy red sauce which made no sense, and the Bolognese tasted like it was leftover from last week and reheated. We’ll never go back.

My wife and I decided to try this place out for her birthday, based on the beautiful setting and the dining area looked amazing. Unfortunately, I see exactly what the negative reviews mean. The food menu is very confusing and there’s not a lot to choose from. The “description” underneath of each item is terrible. We took a little longer to order, due to trying our first time being here and the menu choice. We over heard our waiting complaining about people (customers) always taking forever to order food and even made a statement that sometimes people leave due to the menu. She made other comments that were just disturbing. Another huge turn off, when our waiter came back from a random disappearance, she smelled like a fresh pack of cigarettes. We immediately asked for our check and left. Now for the food, we tried to be safe and just order a salad and chicken Parmesan. The noodles were very cheap tasting, and the chicken was chewy. We would not return to this establishment, which sucks because the presentation and location has a lot of potential. But overall they need to adjust their menu food items and drinks. I asked for a sweet tea and was told they don’t have tea. We overheard customers behind us ask for tea and their waiter asked “sweet or unsweet”.
