Very nice place for short outings near your home, when you do not want to drive long distance Points to remember. 1. Restrooms are away from the cabins. 2. Cabins have only bunk beds and a table and chairs, one ceiling fan and one lamp. No ac no basin, no kitchen, no toilet/bath. 3 only one Barbeque grill which is common for all 6 cabins.

Beautiful park!!! New events building built in 2020 and it’s gorgeous! They also have new log cabins for group camping. Looking at the website. rental is inexpensive. Trails of several different types: nature paths through woods, wide walking path around a pond, boardwalk area near a marsh. Tons of wildflowers. We were the only people there on 4th of July weekend when we went for a walk.

Really pretty woodland trail. Not very long and not only slight gradients so suitable for all ages. Marshland or boardwalk is currently closed and alot of the boardwalk is sunken into the lake/stream. I found out the hard way. Lol all in all enjoyable! Some lovely places to picnic or camp. The gazebo area near the parking lot has free books to read while there, which is very nice. And a coal BBQ area.

Such a great and beautiful place. There's a large nature preserve. A big forest with wild animals. A beautiful cabin for cooking and gatherings. And 5 cute cabins with bunk beds, behind the large cabin. A downhill fire pit with tables. A grill near the large cabin. A bathroom building nearby. I've been 2 times, in the last 2 years.

[please "like" if this is helpful] A beautiful park with six small cabins, community house, pavilion, clean restroom, marked trail systems. All recently updated, with much volunteer work done by various Boy Scout troops. Heaps of love went into making this a usable nature preserve for the public. Lots of poison ivy just about everywhere (even at the trailhead). I don't recommend walking your sweet puppy here, nor letting small kids stray near the edges of the trails. Still worth going -- learn about nature .. enjoy the beauty. No cost for parking as of date of this review.

Very pretty area. Went for a story time, which was great and for a fall festival which was amazing. I rated 4 stars because I dont know what it is like during a normal day. I will change my review after I have gone on a regular day and know what it is like.

A little piece of serenity close to home. I love walking around the lake and looking at the birds. They have other trails as well which are nice.

Truly a wonderful experience. The lodge is beautifully updated with picturesque woodland scenery all around. The staff was very accommodating as well as friendly. An excellent serene escape from urban life. The grounds were very well kept with plenty of room for yard games. All of this paired with a fair cost makes Hawk Woods a well rounded family friendly environment for gatherings of all kinds. Parking is fairly limited, however sufficient for our gathering. I look forward to visiting again.

I have a job in the area so I thought I'd check it out but I guess there's no camping there in the winter.

We had a leadership retreat. The building is lovely for meetings or small parties. The decore was modern and the facilities was top notch. Will definitely consider renting for my next event. Only suggestion would be signage maybe a little better signage on the way in and closer parking. There were only 2 handicap spots near the building. And those filled up fast.

This park was much better than I expected! A friend rented out the Lodge for a party and it was beautiful inside. Spacious with a lot of nice seating, tables and kitchen space that I wish I had in my own home! I also was able to walk some of the trails and they were nicely maintained and well marked. Bathrooms inside the lodge and throughout the park were very nice as well! Staff was also very pleasant. I would be happy to go back 😊

Beautiful and serene even though you can hear the highway noise I really enjoyed my walk here I had complete solitude besides passing two people on the path in the beginning. I usually go to Innovation Hills so it was nice for a change for there to be no people around.

Besides the 5 or so cabins they have in the pic, their is no camping. Nowhere to park an rv and no open spots to set up a tent. Not sure how you could call this place a campground, more of a park with a few walking trails. Also no signs of people staying in the cabins while I was their so who knows how hard it is to stay in one of those and what the rates are.

nice short trail walks. the board walk over the creak was closed off due to high water, which is expected after rains we have received.

Nature center is right behind work so I walk at lunch. Beautiful and lots of options for trails. The maps on the trail aren't great though. No markers so it's easy to get lost.

Lovely park to walk and enjoy nature. The management here does a great job of getting rid of invasive species and planting native ones. My favorite part is that there's almost always very little to no people here so you can enjoy nature in peace.

This place was so nice. I hate to say this... I have lived in this area for over 30 years and did not know this wonderful place existed! Great place to have a party... Cozy and room enough for at least 50 people.

Peaceful and well maintained. I walk my dogs on leash 4 to 5 times a week. It is a relief knowing my fellow walkers also have their dogs on leashes.

One of Oakland Counties best kept secrets! I have frequented this park year round for many years. Beautiful, well maintained, and I always see wildlife. The trails meander through forest, marsh and there's a sizable pond there too. Can't wait to see the new nature center lodge. Oh, and my dogs love it too!

This is a great place to snowshoe and I couldn't pass up this beautiful 46 degree day to do so. It was a pleasant surprise to meet up with 3 ladies from Women Build | Habitat for Humanity who were also shoeing, two of them neophytes. I usually have the trails to myself. Don't have permission to show their faces so include this one. Adding another from Winter 2017.
