I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Mind you all, I NEVER complain about businesses, it's actually hard for me to rate a place so low. I made reservations for my 2 children and I, (my 2 year old and 7 year old) a week prior to our trip to this location. We normally stay at another hotel that's close to this area, but I was hoping to try this hotel for a fun experience instead. Normally, we've always had GREAT experiences with Comfort Suites in various locations. I received my confirmation number and everything, I also made a note that we would be there after 8pm given our travel time during my booking... I've never had such a bad experience EVER in my life! We are from out of town, and drove 3+ hours to get to this location. Upon our arrival, we were told by (whoever was running the front desk at the time/he also refused to give me his name) gave our room to someone else. I tried to remain calm, explained to him that I had a confirmation that I had a room/ confirmation number, and asked him to look up our confirmation number etc. He told me he could not help me, and then walked away. I asked for a number I could call, just in case there might be a mistake, and he also refused to help I'm a single mother. With 2 children... I came to this location for family matters, I just had hoped to have a decent experience at this hotel with my kids. I was left to scramble (at 9pm at night) to find a different place to stay. I will be calling any corporate number I can find.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. All linens pillowcases towels were yellow with disgusting stains all over them. There was petrified food behind the television. The carpet was riddled with disgusting, stains, and cigarette burns. every surface in our room was sticky. The pool was so cloudy you couldn't even see the latter steps, much less the bottom and the hot tub had a 6 inch foam skin on it!I am seriously considering filing a complaint with the health department it was that bad. And to top it all off they double booked a room then had the audacity to charge a 90% cancellation fee ! Sleep in your car if you have to.

This place was in the area I needed however not what I expected. The hotel is in pretty bad shape I'm guessing under new owners which are comfortable with how things are. The room my daughter and I had was very run down. The tub had other people's dirt. Lack of cleaning. The curtains which we couldn't close so we Rose when the sun 🌞 rose. Over Stained carpet fridge wasn't cold holes in walls chipped paint over the walls. Just horrible and don't get me started on the pool.

Take your money else where. All of the reviews are accurate. This hotel needs to be shut down.. the pictures online are deceiving. The walk to my room was enough to disgust me. The carpet is penetrated with cigarette smoke, dirt, nasty chlorine water.. you name & it’s probably in there. The furniture was filthy it was covered in stains.. the walls were just as bad. Customer service was a joke! I asked for a refund and took my money else where, and I’m glad I did! There was no way, I was going to swim let alone eat in that place. I wanted to give this place a chance so bad but it was one thing after another! Oh and if you haven’t heard enough here’s the cherry on top. As I was leaving the room, I notice room service was only changing the sheets and not the whole bedding. Don’t stay here.

I had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to even check me in.Trash bags and other random items left through the hallway and stairway. It says that guests are not allowed to smoke but the entire building smelled like smoke. Some towels were obviously not cleaned and just left there from the last guest who occupied the room before us. You’re better off just finding another place to book for a room. Will not be returning to this place.

I enjoyed my stay; Stayed for 2 weeks. The Free Breakfast in the mornings was great...🥞 🍳 🥐 🍌🍎☕🍴 But Should have been better with milk 🥛 and food quantity stocked better for everyone every day but overall it was a very good stay for the price, service was ok, could improve but overall was nice, room was clean but needed more towels. But would recommend

Location was good. Really close to highway and attractions. Front desk associate was polite and got me checked in quickly. Interacted with front desk daily and it was positive in general. Parking was fine, plenty of space. Got a room facing the back lake, nice view. Overall, cleanliness needs improvements. Stayed 3 nights, definitely understaffed. I had to stop by front desk daily to get keys reactive. Facilities is dated. Just high traffic area in room was clean. Corners, walls, ceiling is in need of cleaning. Stayed on 2nd floor. The hallway smells (likely of recreational marijuanas which is legal in Michigan). Standing inside the room by the door/bathroom with door closed, I can smell it front the hallway. If you’re sensitive to smell, this is likely a deal breaker. My room, the window had a draft from the outside. The sink did not drain properly. Outside trash bins were overflown and not emptied the time I stayed. Breakfast was hit and miss, 50/50. I travelled with family, including a baby. If traveling with family/kids, I would not stay here again. Traveling solo, this wouldn’t be my first or second choice.

We stay at budget hotels all the time, and this did not even reach that lowest of bars. The outside of the building is peeling and the pileup of trash in and around every can is gross. The hallway on the third floor smelled so offensive that everyone had to hide their nose and mouth in their shirts. Looking for the nonexistent ice machine, I came across guest laundry with a dirty mop sink and wet hotel linens on the floor. The carpet and bed skirts in the room had sticky stains and the bathroom floor was tacky. I had the feeling nothing would be clean. In the night, the air conditioning stopped working, which, although it relieved us of the sound of a crying animal, also made it too hot for sleeping. The tub drained so slowly that there was still water in it 12 hours after a brief shower. I had been looking forward to enjoying a soak in the "hot tub" but there was no way I was sitting in that cesspool. Despite the promise of waffles, the large breakfast area was stocked only with Cheerios and coffee with 2% milk. I loved the irony of the sticky note on the orange juice machine that it was out of order. The whole place was out of order! Oh, the view was pretty, the pool was operable, and the bedding was squishy. Those are the only positive comments I have. Word to sum up this experience: gross.

My husband and i stayed in a suite that had a kitchen area (fridge, microwave, stove top). When we first walked in, I wanted to turn around and walk out. The smell was AWFUL! It smelled like smoke and old, dirty clothes. My husband talked me into staying because we were far from home and it was late. There were stains on the carpet that looked like nail polish or marker, dirt, food and drink stains. Crayon and pencil writing all over the walls. Mold in the bathtub, like a lot of it. The jets in the tub were full of mold. A lot of long black hair stuck in the bathroom sink drain. You could see dirty finger prints on the light switches. The hair dryer was filthy, dirt and food all over it. Cracked walls, smoke stains, a wire sticking out of the top of a door way, a mirror with broken molding, the dishwater had makeup smeared on it, the stove top had burnt food stains and the light switches were black and full of mold/dirt where the switch meets the plate. I honest believe that this was someone's home. And they lived there for a long time. I felt disgusting even after showering. I didn't touch the walls or shower curtain and the floor was gross too. I was so disappointed. The walls were paper thin and people were walking and opening and shutting doors all night. It sounded like they were right by our room all night. I was afraid someone was going to try to get in our room. The only positive thing was the guy that checked me in was very nice and friendly.

Beware if you come with your family. As we check in to our room, sign saying pool close for remodel. We booked it so our kids can swim. Disappointed. Walked in a freezing dirty room. There was someone under garments in the bathroom. 6 ish there was a knock on our door for maintenance which I thought was weird and unacceptable. THEN 10 pm comes around as we were in bed there was knocking on our door and seem like they were attempting to get in our room. My husband got up to check the peek hole and he stated it look like someone was checking doors and or got the wrong room. We were scared and feel unsafe the whole night especially with our kids. Breakfast had nothing.

Tub wouldn't drain that fast. Ever so slowly and hot tub was out of service. Pool was cloudy and no towels for the pool available. Expected a hot breakfast to just your normal continental breakfast but not many options available. Other than that it was decent

The location just outside Detroit is fine. The rooms were extremely dirty, our group had several issues with yellow and stained sheets, dirty towels, bugs, and no room cleaning service. Will never recommend this place.

Our room was honestly disgusting. The shower had soap scum all over it, the faucet was disconnected from the base of the bathtub… in the pool area the bathroom had NOT ONE toilet paper roll! The walls were poorly patched .. there were quite frankly what looked like blood stains on our carpet .. the pillows are not at all comfortable … their lobby isn’t even open and was crowded with boxes… this hotel was awful… absolutely hideous

Place is in absolute disarray. Rooms are terrible. Stains all over the carpet, paint it's old and dirty. Lights didn't work. Seriously should have just left. Front desk repeatedly apologized for the poor conditions. Was told she would contact the owner and Tim me email to send me some discount codes for future stays (not here). But nothing ever came. All I can say is to stay across the street, don't come here. *This review is a stark contrast to the many other Comfort Suites we've stayed at. Never experienced this at any other property.

Where do I start. The room wasn't clean at all bathroom was nasty the door to the balcony was broke. Pulled out the pull out bed and food literally fell out of it. The hallway smelled like dog poop. The pool was dirty and cloudy. The hot tub was not warm and the area was dirty and had a towel in the hot tub the breakfast was horrible the bagle was stale no options at all. Staff was nice that's the only positive thing I can say.

I normally don't bother reviewing hotels unless they are exceptionally good or terribly bad. This hotel is TERRIBLE!! I'm pretty reasonable when it comes to hotel standards but Comfort Suites Auburn Hills is bad! The room smelled HORRIBLE, everything was dirty and stained (carpet, couch, shower, fridge, cabinets, walls etc) and the more you looked at things the worse and grosser it got 🤢 It seems like they gave up on taking care of the rooms and actually cleaning them years ago....I'm not sure if the other hotels around it are any better but DON'T GO HERE!!!

Girl behind counter was very nice, first room she showed us was a mess, second room was alot better, the hallway and rooms we stayed in was all redone, could smell pot and smoke behind the paint smell, but was ok for 2 nights. Luckily we didn't want the pool or hot tub but both were not working.

To start out they charge a $100 deposit that isn't mentioned until you are checking in. This hotel was beyond filthy and run down. The bathtub was grey and cracked, closet handle was almost falling off of the door, mold was everywhere! Above the bathroom door, on the sliding door, on the head board, and by the toilet all had mold! The blankets, sheets, and pillow cases were all stained yellow. The air conditioner was so moldy there was mushrooms growing in there. You had to slam the door to get it to latch. There was boogers wiped on the wall, mold in the coffee maker. When I told front desk his only response was, "okay, I'll make a note on that room." For the included breakfast you could choose from a waffle, bread, Cheerios, or sausage patties that were bright red and the orange juice tasted like it went bad. If there was a zero star option I would use it for this hotel. My advice would be skip this hotel, even if it means spending a couple extra dollars...

We came to the hotel and tried to give it a go. We wanted to swim but the pool room is the creepiest, most run-down place I’ve seen. The water was frigid, to boot. The rooms are run-down and nasty. We asked for a refund and were told we would get one if we emailed the manager. First of all, they said there was no manager on site (red flag) and secondly, he never responded to emails or phone calls. Pretty sure they don’t have a manager and it was a ruse to keep our money when we didn’t even stay there. The most ghetto hotel I’ve been to. Stay far away!

Booked a room here for two nights since we came to town to see a concert, visit the zoo and see some of my family that lives in the area. I will admit there was a bit of miscommunication (which happens from time to time between people) a few times prior to and during check-in. May want to make sure people are fully aware of the $100 incidentals deposit before charging them, it's not listed on the site or anywhere and was never mentioned, Nor was it on the form my girlfriend signed when she got the room and NOBODY likes those kind of surprises, just a suggestion for any staff that may see this. Aside from that our stay was great. Very nice and hospitable people and what few times we needed assistance they did not hesitate to do so. Our room was pretty clean, well stocked and in good repair especially for the price. Breakfast was served at 7 to 9 and I grabbed breakfast at 8 snd they were still keeping an eye on it making sure it was stocked. We'll stay here again possibly the next time we're in town seeing my family

Very friendly and helpful staff! The pool was FANTASTIC 😊 It was nice and warm and the hot tub was wonderful too. Breakfast was good, and there is a lake right behind the building that was pretty and peaceful. If I have to pick something negative it would be the pool area was not very clean.

I want to give it a better review. I didn't pay for a 5 star (granted I thought I had booked a more common hotel with a similar name). A bit of paint touch up isn't what gets me. It's that they didn't invest in mattress protectors that can decrease the risk of you-know-what infestations. I did search and didn't find red flags for BB's. However, the sofa cushions has some weird smear/stain. It's not a 5 star and it had been cleaned. I would just suggest to invest in some mattress protectors (You will TOTALLY get that investment back if you ever have a traveler leave bugs.) and get your furniture upholstery cleaned.

booked 6 nights for myself (a local) and a friend visiting from out of state. in 3 days, our towels were changed ONCE, sheets NEVER touched OR the trash. after complaining, we were switched to the next room which had child's clothes left from previous occupant (along with their fingerprints and nose-marks left all over the glass door) and a broken drawer handle. after 2 more days of nothing done, we left early. i wish i had read the reviews!!!! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. the lake view is nice but not worth it considering the back parking lot seems to be a weekend partying area. we also gave up on the breakfast after a couple of days and ate elsewhere. fyi.... the ice machine has mold on it.

If I could give then 0 stars I would! Showed up and refused to stay there!! Trash everywhere!! Missing windows and screens!! Under renovations apartly...for the last 6+ years!! No pool, over grown weeds, used needles, drug addiction and users everywhere!! Totally miss represented on web site!! $118 a night....for putting me and my children a risk!! Absolutely NOT!! Drug use and God knows what else is going on there. Definitely a "hourly rate" for some people!!

As soon I parked my vehicle, I knew I might have selected a wrong place to stay overnight. The building gives an old appearance which requires a lot of maintenance.,The check in was quick but a piece of advice, please shop around on different booking sites to get the best rate. I was charged around 165 Dollars while I see some other guests paying only 129 dollars for the same room. There is a typical old carpet bad smell as soon as you enter. The room size was ok. Bathroom needs maintenance as flush was leaking. The hook for clothes on door was broken. The sink was clogged. Towels were old although look clean. Overall not a very good impression. The breakfast was a big disappointment. It is cold continental type breakfast, nothing hot except coffee and tea

This place has some positives going for it. The people at the front desk were pretty professional and friendly. The hotel, including the rooms, was generally clean. The hot tub was at a nice temperature, but the jets did not work. The pool was nice, but it was a little small and a little too cold. The fitness room was fine, but pretty small. The fitness room should open before 9am. The location next to I-75 was pretty convenient. I also liked the view of the pond out back. The room was generally quiet. The breakfast was basic but fine. With all this being said, I can't do much higher than a 3 star rating though, because there is just way too much stuff broken and out of date at this hotel. It feels as if this place has went for years without any maintenance staff being present. This is really a shame, because there is a lot of potential here. It seemed that the front desk staff referenced renovations, so hopefully this will come to fruition. I probably would stay here again, if the price continues to be one of the better prices, but in its current state I would probably go elsewhere if other places were about the same price.

The man working the desk was nice. But The room was gross. They are doing renovations and the whole hotel smelled. Not even sure the room was cleaned before we got there, the tv was on. The cabinet door where the fridge is was broken, we couldn’t get it to stay closed. Had a toddler who was stuck in a playpen the whole time because the carpet was sticky and stained. It was a last minute emergency trip due to family illness and previous place fell through. I wouldn’t recommend at all.they provide false pictures on their listings online
