Recently had dinner here with 2 friends, and we shared the Carte Blanche option from the menu, $75pp. We got to have a little bit of everything (chef’s selections) throughout the night (which turned out to quite a lot of food) with a bottle of Rosé ($70). Thoroughly enjoyed it, and the fish was outstanding - a gorgeous explosion of flavours! 🔥 Bar Celeste is a lovely place to dine at for a romantic experience. The staff were an absolute pleasure too! They were professional, patient, and explained the entire menu in detail to us! 🙏🏿

I came here with my wife and got the 89 set menu, I had really high hopes for this place after I tasted their steak tartare, but wow, I feel disappointed... The negatives - I wasn't a fan of the flavours presented for the dishes, there was an overwhelming after taste - olive oil maybe? The dessert was some kind of dark chocolate mousse drenched in olive with flakes of salt... (What??). We didn't even make an attempt to finish the dessert. The positives - generous portion sizes, nice ambiance. Overall, I can't recommend this place - I would've given a lower score but the generous portion sizes saved it somewhat. Do yourself a favour and go to Candela across the road instead.

Outstanding customer service from this one very friendly lady who got our night off to a good start! The food wasn't as amazing as we thought it would be however; apart from the oysters which were mean, the bread and chips were a bit cold and the steak a tad over done and under-seasoned. Shout out to the lady server who still made our dinner feel well looked after despite sitting outside, away from the restaurant ambience and decor.

Amazing staff and nice atmosphere. Our first two starters were out of this world amazing, sourdoughs and buratta. I wish it Never ended, I will definitely order these two again! Then ordered the flounder which was cooked to perfection, so buttery and tender. The gnocchi was also very good!

Was expecting great things for the price however in reality was a little dissapointed. Probably best as a small group or date situation as we went in a group of 10 and didn't get great service on the night. Food was great, not amazing for the prices and drinks being pretty good. Portion sizes were decent.

Top contenders for best date night dinner spot! The food was delicious and I love its cozy atmosphere. You must go!

One of my favourite spots in Auckland. Highly recommend Bar Céleste, especially if you're looking for an intimate setting with shared plates. We always get the full Carte Blanche menu, which changes seasonally, so that we can try a bit of everything + can't beat chef's selection. Staff are always friendly and informative, always bang on with food and drink reccomendations, which I am always thankful for anywhere I go because I never know what to order :)

Good wines, and good food. Fish was beautifully cooked. Good level of service - thoughtful, but not pushy.

Ladies and gentleman, Bar Celeste is home to the best burger in Auckland. My partner went for the reliable cheese burger which was insane and I decided to live on the wild side and try the onion bhaji burger (pictured) which was out of this world. Bar Celeste is my go to when I’m not sure where to eat. Always great good, service and atmosphere. Gnocchi were pillowy and super tasty, oysters were juicy, bread and olive butter pure perfection and burrata never can go wrong. See you again soon!

Delicious food and cozy atmosphere. We started with burrata and fish crudo with some bread. Had flounder as the main. Brussels sprouts were gorgeous, and would recommend crème brûlée and chocolate ganache to finish the meal 👌 We loved it!!!

Really disappointed by our recent trip to Bar Céleste. We were really looking forward to it but the food was extremely sub par, especially for the money. The staff were lovely but incredibly inattentive. We had the oysters to start which were great, but then our mains came out separately despite indicating we wanted to share the mains at the same time. The fish crudo was tasteless and cut really thick, the burrata is served in an agrodolce which is odd, and had no accompanying bread. We had to order and pay for focaccia to eat with the burrata. The servers never refilled our waters without us asking- which we had to ask every few minutes given they don’t leave the bottles at your table. The chef indicated the food was ready a number of times before the staff would pick it up and deliver it to the tables. The restaurant itself has a gorgeous feel and atmosphere. It’s a shame the food and the staff’s handle of the restaurant isn’t stronger.

Excellent service! Chicken liver parfait was amazing. Schnitzel was good and adding romesco was something different.

Absolutely epic experience at BC from start to finish. Firstly the wait staff greeted us beautifully and carried on in this way through the night. They all had superb wine knowledge- this is a wine bar after all, but they know A LOT about wine and it’s obvious it’s a passion of theirs. And the food.. absolutely phenomenal. Can’t believe it took us so long to visit! We will be back on repeat !

Service was not great. Me and my partner booked for 5:30 and one of staff told us that we need to leave soon as there is other booking coming. We felt a bit confused that when our next table people are still there and hasn't asked to leave yet who were before us. Also they finished the meal and didn't have any plate on there table. We "just" finished our meal and no time for dessert. And then we had to leave with rush. It would be nicer if they informed us in the beginning about the limit time for dine in. Food was okay but over priced. Wine list. . Not much of kiwi wines. They told me the wine list has been changed but not updated yet. .. Overall. It wasn't our favorite dinner experience in k road.

Really delicious sharing plates. Everything was super fresh. Their fillet o fish burger was a stand out.

Awesome and friendly staff. We went during happy hour and had delicious oysters, a splendid burrata to accompany our drinks. Great evening spot, especially outside under the heaters.

The best restaurant + food in the whole of Auckland, perfect every time.

I sat at the kitchen counter, so saw everything happening. Delicious, light dishes with subtle flavours. Nothing overdone. A small but very good selection of wines by the glass. Picpoul and Gamay were very good and served at the perfect temperature. Friendly staff, competent. I was finished in an hour, sated. I wish I could have found a reason to keep my seat for longer. A very nice place with a vibrant decor and atmosphere. The menu is very limited but the two dishes we had were delicious (schnitzel and 🐔 ❤️ 💙). The service was sub-optimal though. We ordered some things as part of the happy hour but they included the full price in the check. When we asked about it, they just added as if asking us to pay twice. Was a bit awkward 😬

Staff went out of their way to accommodate a large group at quite late notice. The food was divine, staff were super friendly, despite it being their last service of the year. An amazing night, an amazing place - looking forward to our next visit and thank you for making it so special!

Had the most amazing carrot salad with buckwheat, the sourdough was also soft and chewy and the burratta was very creamy and succulent yesterday night with my friends and the atmosphere is very chic and the lighting was warm and just very chill vibes.

Lively atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service. Our waitress/owner? had a strong French accent and we didn’t quite get all the menu explanations, but no problem! It just added to the Parisian vibe! We shared a magic Creme brûlée to finish off a happy night!
