😐 10/10 ambiance, 6/10 food. The decor in this subterranean restaurant is worth experiencing. From the incense greeting you as you walk in, to the bamboo curtains and earthen stoneware - the space is very well curated. Unfortunately the food wasn’t amazing. The ma la spare ribs didn’t taste like ma la... People often mention service, noodles, great, restaurant, dishes, good, atmosphere, fried, experience, staff,

10/10 ambiance, 6/10 food. The decor in this subterranean restaurant is worth experiencing. From the incense greeting you as you walk in, to the bamboo curtains and earthen stoneware - the space is very well curated. Unfortunately the food wasn’t amazing. The ma la spare ribs didn’t taste like ma la, and the lamb skewers were a bit dry and bland. Beautiful presentation, and the Golden Monkey tea was delicious. Would come back for a drink to soak up the atmosphere, but not for a meal.

Overall disappointed. Very cool atmosphere and great service. But the food was average. If you ever tasted authentic Chinese food in Asia, then you know this place is catered towards western tastebuds(sorry I know it’s meant to be fusion, but it’s just not executed well) The only thing that was yummy was the BangBang noodles. The fried rice and duck salad was 7/10. The most disappointing dish was the coconut bun and tasted nothing like the Hong Kong buns. The bun was hard (almost like a pizza crust, not even bread) and the filling was just not fluffy. To have a bad dessert to end the meal made the overall experience go downhill.

Normally not a huge fan of fusion Asian cuisine. But I have to admit, this place changed my mind and perception. The flavours are similar to Sichuan cuisines. The dishes incorporated the traditional Chinese tasted with a hint of creativity which blended quite well. The service was superb. The waiter was super attentive, humorous and looked after our group really well.

Good service & vibes. The cocktails weren't great, could do with more sour and sweet options. The spicy Snapper is coated in a chili oil that left a lingering taste after eating that we didn't like, so we didn't finish it. Felt a small bit overpriced - $206 for 5 of the sharing dishes and 4 drinks (3 alcoholic). We much prefer Cafe Hanoi, which is probably our favourite CBD restaurant and recommend instead.

6 of us had an awesome team lunch at Ghost Street. The flavors are so fresh and the food feels light, it really is a good time with great cocktails too. Highly recommend trying the espresso martini, the beef and the lettuce cups. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales

Amazing atmosphere , delicious food and top notch service. Set in the lower level , we didn't even know his restaurant existed. Staff are friendly and ensure you are enjoying your meals throughout the night. Best dishes which one must try are the Chinese pickled veges with wonton skins, Lab skewers and the scrumptious dry fired green beans. Lychee martini was nice and refreshing with this spicy meal and finishing off with the gorgeous Purple kumra tiramisu .. Cant wait to come back to try more dishes.

Best place for a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine. Excellent service from host, waiter to chefs. Fast and also in for a cheeky lil banter/comment. The price is worth the food and vibe of the restaurant top it off toilets are clean. We were full by the 3rd plate so come empty and the drinks will knock you out if you’re not careful. Definitely paying your worth and very excited to bring friends and family to this gem.

We had our team Christmas lunch here last month and ordered quite a few dishes to share between the 9 of us. When we were almost done with most of the dishes, we noticed we have not been given the noodles yet. It was an easy tell because that was the only noodle dish we ordered, and we didn’t get any noodles. When I asked the staff about it, she went to check with their kitchen staff. When she came back, she said the kitchen is sure they made the food and asked if we’re sure that we didn’t get it. I re-emphasised we did not have any noodles. She went away again to talk to her manager. When the manager came to talk to us, he asked “Did you want another bowl of noodles?”. I had to tell them (again) that we didn’t have any noodles in the first place. Then he asked “Are you sure?” We had spent so much on food and drinks, at least a couple of drinks per person. Also it was a work team lunch. We could not believe that they thought we were trying to get a free dish. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived and ordered. So naturally I suspect whether our bowl of noodles was taken to the wrong table. Anyway, they did end up giving us the bowl of noodles after we finished everything else. Food was good but a bit pricey, okay atmosphere, but not a great experience. Probably won’t be going back.

We went there for dinner on December 13th 2022. The foods are great. They have options for people with dietary restrictions, such as vegetarian and gluten-free. The servings are good for two people. Their main dishes can serve up to 3 people, depending on your appetite. We also love the ambiance. It was like a medieval-styled restaurant with slightly dimmed lighting. The service is amazing. However, their foods are a bit pricey for the serving. We spent $170 dollars for 5 meals and 3 non-alcoholic drinks. They also don't have wheelchair access, and the way to the restaurant is a bit hidden. Please make sure you check all the signs to avoid getting lost. Overall experience was great and I loved it.

Overall a 4 star. Food is ok for its price but great vibe and service. We got the prawn toasts, stir fried chicken thighs, fried rice, cha sui pork, biang biang noodles and two desserts. The mango dessert was a hi-light for me.

I cannot recommend Ghost Street highly enough. A member of our group suggested this restaurant as she had been before - and it did not disappoint. I am usually not the biggest fan of seafood but every item from the banquet option was fantastic! The snapper in spicy sauce in particular was phenomenal.

Went here for Restaurant Month and was so glad I did! Highlights were definitely the lamb ribs, the biang biang pulled noodles and the prawn & sesame toast. Atmosphere was cute for date night with dim lighting with a candle lit table. Service was amazing - would come back!!

Service, amazing. Food, incredible. Drinks, insane. This should be an Auckland institution. The service and atmosphere is incredible. It gets a tad loud the later in the evening you go but that's purely because of the underground nature. The food was incredible. Standouts were the scallop wonton, stir fried eye fillet and fried rice. This place is all about strong punchy flavours so be prepared. All in all, a great experience.

I have been to a lot of restaurants and I have found the service from everyone to be the best I have ever experienced! Really genuine, polite and punctual. They clearly have a focus on making sure everyone is catered for and looked after! Not only at our table, but I have observed tonight the whole restaurant has been happy, and looked after. I am especially blown away by the service of Dylan! Exceptional. I hope that he is rewarded for his efforts because I have had an extremely good night, and he has i er achieved in my opinion for the needs of our table and delivered perfectly! I al not a massive Chinese person, but I will be back here for sure!

Love this place. Such a cool hidden gem. It's a bit hot (temperature wise), but the food is delicious. There were 7 of us, and each of us ordered 2 or 3 things on the menu and shared everything. It gave us a chance to sample multiple items on the menu. The food is hot, so if you don't like hot order it mild.

If you love chilli and spice this is the place for you. Lovely tasty food, excellent friendly staff. Quick turnaround even when busy. Scallops so delicious as are the margaritas!

Dined here last Friday and I was looking forward to it after all the hype when it first opened and everyone who had talked about it really rated it. Sadly I was disappointed in the food :( The service was immaculate and our waiter was fantastic and really made the night for us. Out of the 5 dishes we tried only 2 were really good in my view. The fried chicken was overcooked, dry and tough and the veges were average. The Lamb ribs were good and the noodles were great but a word to those that don't like spicy food - everything here is HOT! I like it hot but not everyone does. One in our party said it was at the absolute limit of his spice tolerance and there is no option to order to your taste that we were made aware of. Cocktails were different and quite nice but a bit bland. I hate to leave an average review but I hate more not to leave an honest one and this was my experience.

Very good food at reasonable prices. Our waiter, Patrick was super nice and helpful, and patient as he explained everything. Great place to hang out for dining with friends

The "free flowing kitchen" experience was quite incredible. It was super interesting to get my order about a minute after I made it. Have their fried rice it is incredible Their drinks are also really good. No complaints will definitely be coming here again

Nice location and atmosphere. Portion size is a bit quite small but tastes ok. Everything was great accept for a surprise fart delivered to our table.

The food was delicious. Everything seemed perfect, however, I didn't feel comfortable when I saw the kitchen staff eating in the kitchen when they prepared our food. Not sure what standard is in New Zealand, but I think the staff should eat in the staff room during their break time.
