Oakley Creek Te Auaunga Walkway

Tourist attraction β€’ Scenic spot

πŸ‘πŸ‘ One of my favourite spots in central Auckland for a short bush walk. It's not a loop and hence you'll have to come back the same way, adding to 4 kms return. Entrance to the walk way starts from the back of the metro football field, bit hidden but there are signs. A hidden treasure for nature lover... People often mention walk,

One of my favourite spots in central Auckland for a short bush walk. It's not a loop and hence you'll have to come back the same way, adding to 4 kms return. Entrance to the walk way starts from the back of the metro football field, bit hidden but there are signs. A hidden treasure for nature lovers in the middle of the city, unexplored by tourists and hence not much crowded. You'll see few locals for jogging or cycling. Ten minutes through the walk you'll see the Oakley creek fall, though there's nothing exciting about it. However, considering its the only fall within Auckland City area, it's worth a visit. Otherwise, it's a beautiful serene walk with lots of trees and shades. Suits all age groups, even small kids. Paths are well tracked, maintained and signs provided to lead you. No public toilets are in the vicinity btw. It's open 24 hours but suggest not to walk while it's dark as it's a secluded place.

A beautiful bush walkway that can be a short stroll to take in Aucklands City Waterfall and birdlife, to a much longer walk that can loop across a bridge to Unitec, through to Allan Wood Park where you can follow the path over the stunning piece of architecture that forms the walk Bridge across the Waterview tunnel. The path follows Te Auanga all the way to Mt Roskill with some stunning architectural snippets popping out of the natural environment along the way.

Some paths are closed and blocked by huge tree trunks from the cyclone. Tracks are still a mess since the cyclone in January 2023.

A good walk through for sight seeing of nature.. birds the bushes trees just a nice walk. It's a nice walk and especially when you see a waterfall which is fantastic and unexpected. Nice for wedding photos to be taken or just admire the waterfall.

Don't go if this is not in your neighborhood. A crucial bridge going over a river/ stream has been washed away, leaving the walk in 2 halves. It doesn't seem like it will be fixed anytime soon.

Enjoyed the walk and the beautiful sceneries on the way, stopped and fed the ducks but when we were approaching the waterfall there was a big fence and sign saying that this area is closed from: to:, with both areas left empty. The least they can do is put dates to correctly inform the public!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Wonderful place for the kids, with alot of safety measures taken but be ware it's not an enclosed park and it might be risky if the kids will run out to the road. But generally it's a fun place for the kids and an open space for the adults.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ One amazing place for anything to do with kiddos. Be ready to spend at least couple of hours here, playing on playground, exploring hidden spots of the park (beach included) and enjoying spectacular views of Auckland.

😠 I went 2-3 times to eat mahaparsad. But it has happened every time that after eating when we washed the dishes there was no dishwashing and we just clean with water and then they wipe with cloth to eat for next time. But dishes are not clean without soap. That’s not hygienic at all.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Just 15min drive from the CBD and you feel like you’re in a tropical forest. Peaceful and quiet and the waterfall is really beautiful. There’s also a nice walk in the area.
