ORIGINAL CHICKEN - Recommended dish here. Original chicken was juicy, tender and crunchy. It was the best flavour out of the three we tried. Complimented well with the honey mustard sauce they served on the side. Snowing cheese - worth a try. It is fried chicken topped with a very sweet cheese flavouring (think of a chicken version of Potato corner on Queen Street). It is supposedly the brands most famous flavour, but it was too sweet for my liking, but I acknowledge this is a personal taste and some would love this! Swicy - AVOID this flavour. It is supposed to be sweet and spicy. However all it felt like a sickening sweet taste, without any seasoning or spiciness at all. I would give this a 0/5 for flavour and worst chicken flavour I had tasted. Despite there being a huge line to get in, the service was quick (food was out in 20mins) and there were surprising alot of seats at the back. Unfortunately they had sold out of the opening day special of scratch cards, and at the main screens on top of the screen it kept advertising for it as being a promotion for the whole weekend, which I found misleading. Overall atmosphere was clean, modern and pleasant to dine in. Worth a try, but personally will not be back as I think there are better choices for fried chicken around the CBD.

I tried the Korean Chicken (Bulgogi and Snowing Cheese flavor). It was delicious and flavorful. Same with the chips. I also like the fact that it is the only fast food that i tried so far in NZ who was kind enough to provide service water although i did order a soda. Although the line to order and pay (cashier) took a little over 30 minutes, I gave it a little consideration since they just recently opened and their food ordering/payment kiosk was still out of order. I hope they will improve the coming days. I also like the colorful design of the interior.

Nene recently opened its first branch in Auckland. There is an entrance on both Queen street and Lorne Street and it is closer to the Lorne Street end. They specialise in Korean Fried chicken amongst other things. It was disappointing they didn't have the hot cheese plate yet. The menu is on top of the counter and they do have electronic menus but they weren't working when we were there. They were also in the process of obtaining their liquor license so they were not able to serve alcohol. They do have in interesting range of chicken flavours. Although the front area is quite big and mostly for waiting, they also have a seating area around the back. It is decently sized but it was mostly full. We ordered and grabbed a table. There is also water and plates which is self-service by the kitchen. Their fries and coleslaw wasn't bad, the coleslaw is very similar to the on in K(Kentucky)FC. We also tried the corn dogs and they were interesting since the batter was on the sweet side. We grabbed half and half with bulgogi and snowing cheese and both were nice. The chicken was nicely cooked and came with coleslaw and pickles. The chicken was nice but I don't think it was worth the hype, considering the other options nearby.

There were some reviews initially that didn't paint a nice picture. However, you really have to taste it yourself to know that it's so freaking good! The chicken was succulent and the flavours (garlic and cheese snow) were on point. Definitely coming back!

The fried chicken from this establishment is the most unpleasant I've ever had – it has a strong and foul odor. The choice of chicken ingredients seems poor, with each piece strangely connected and not well cleaned. Considering the relatively high price, the disappointment is even more pronounced. I won't be returning after experiencing such a significant letdown. Every piece tasted awful , prompting us to discard the entire box of fried chicken.

Very salty ! We ordered hot dog and 4 piece cheese flavored. Hot dog seems same as the one I can buy from Korean supermarket frozen hot dog. Not cheap. Cheese flavored fried chicken is very salty with a lot of MSG taste. Not recommend. Take away box charge for 20c 🙃

the fried chicken is quite normal + a bit wet to be honest, just like what we can get in other Korean Fried Chicken Restaurant. might be wrong, but I feels like their price will be slightly higher than others. the fries is actually quite good, crunchy texture!

I ordered the original chicken with original sauce and chips meal with a Coke. The chips are crunchy and very well salted. The chips aren’t soggy as well, and it’s best eaten alone instead of with sauce. The original chicken burger was good, it’s ingredient proportion was very good. The buns were nice and toasty and it wasn’t soggy. The chicken inside, it was crispy and tender. The portion was fil filling, and he was enough fill me up. However, the price was on the steep side, the portion size would be a bit below average size, but still filling. Price range is relatively Student friendly. Interior decoration was really nice and the seats were comfortable. The environment was very nice too. Takeaway delivery an in-store dining available.

Had a fantastic experience at Nene Chicken on Lorne St in CBD. The half and half flavor (garlic and spicy) was a hit—crispy, delicious, and the chicken with mozzarella cheese was a standout! The portion size is generous; four of us shared, and it wasn't too heavy on the wallet. If you're a fan of crispy and flavorful chicken, Nene Chicken is the place to be! 🍗🍚🧀

The chicken was so tender and juicy! I thought it was little over priced but all four flavours were so favourful. The corn dog was little dry and coleslaw tasted weird. It was worth trying! Hopefully some improvements could happen so the quality matches the price.

(visited on 13 November 2023) The fries and spicy chicken were really delicious, but the snowing cheese chicken could be less sweet. The cheesy fries could also be better presented by melting the cheese more.

Guy at the cashier was super nice and friendly. Great portions, chicken is bigger than other places I’ve been to. The boneless set is huge, worth the $38 for it. Service was very fast too, our dishes arrived within 10 minutes and it was dinner time too. Freaking spicy is pretty spicy! Definitely try it if you can take spicy. Swicy is a very mild spicy. We had some takeaways too, pop it in the airfryer to heat it up the next day and it’s just as crispy and delicious.
