These guys are fantastic. Best in Auckland - always accomodating, right from the concierge to the desk team to the restaurant and bar staff - you just cannot go wrong, I've spent a lot of nights here and they're just the best. Great facilities, a lovely pool, spa, sauna and steam room. The day spa is incredible if you've got the time a massage is worth every cent

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a one-night stay at this hotel and had a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist us, adding a warm touch to our stay. The breakfast was delightful, and we especially relished the sauna and spa pool facilities. However, the room's interior felt a bit dated. The door had a tendency to slam shut, and the walls seemed a tad thin, affecting the overall tranquility. Considering it's a 5-star establishment, we anticipated a bit more in terms of room quality. Despite these minor setbacks, our stay was enjoyable, and we left with fond memories of our time here.

Loved every minute of the stay here. Julian greeted us at reception and was helpful and friendly. Spacious room, great amenities. We made use of the sauna and spa. Was more than just your typical spa area. 'Very upmarket'. Delicious food and delicious drinks. I would definitely book here again without hesitation.

Service is outstandingly poor. We had a red eye flight and very early arrival of 7am and there was absolutely no empathy or attempt to get us a room earlier by the dismissive reception staff (a French girl) who promised to call when our room was ready and never did… we came back way later early afternoon (after I had to have a cat nap in the reception lounge) to check and she dismissively confirmed it was. We were exhausted and very frustrated. Also we got back at 2pm to unmade rooms despite putting the sign on our door to clean them. Rooms are well equipped and spacious but the service is not good enough for the price paid. Very disappointing experience, spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere.

Quiet, clean rooms with good location for the intended visit and great service from all staff. The Nespresso was nice to have with a good selection of coffee and other drink sachets. However, for the price and a "5 star" hotel the rooms are looking decidedly dated and tired. There were cracks through the desk, chips and wear marks on most items, corrosion and rust on bathroom fittings. There were little things which were annoying such as having to climb into the bath/shower to fill the kettle as it didn't fit under the sink tap, and no bottle opener (or any cutlery beyond a teaspoon!). TV remote was clean though! The food in the restaurant was fine, but not great, and the volume of noise from the neighbouring bar meant the restaurant staff had to almost shout to be heard. Conversation with other diners was almost impossible. Maybe it was bad timing, but some acoustic dampening would go a very long way.

Great stay at Pullman Auckland. Staff are friendly and helpful. Amenities are all good and in particular I enjoyed the steam room. Rooms are comfortable and food is good. The hotel well located and easy walking distance to Queen Street and the harbour. Would stay there again.

Overall nice place. One issue that I faced during my stay. Asked in advance if Tesla charging option is available and then did the booking. Unfortunately, it didnt happen. Staff should do communicate in case they are not able to charge vehicle.

Great hotel choice for those who are after a good value hotel that is close to a lot of Auckland facilities and is also modern, considerate, friendly, and with a touch of luxury. Stayed two nights and utilised the gym and pool facilities. The room was very comfortable and quiet, the bed and sheets were very comfortable and the mattress very firm. Service was prompt and excellent, phone picked up quickly and great communication was had throughout for all our needs. The gym and swimming facilities appear a bit outdated but nonetheless in good working order. Will definitely stay here again.

Over all pretty disappointing for a 5 star hotel. Not sure if this is a training hotel but the service in the end made us laugh. Twice we ordered room service and both times they forgot the plates and cutlery. Shower ran hot and cold, and in the morning for breakfast both coffee machines were out of action, that really made people grumpy 😡. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and room was quiet and housekeeping staff were very helpful and welcoming, more so than the front desk staff. Will try another hotel next time and I would recommend other 5 star hotels before this one.

Made our anniversary a truly special one. Definitely went above and beyond for their guests. The staff we’re all very friendly, room service was speedy, would recommend the bakers basket - it was so yummy. Thank you Pullman!

I would like to acknowledge the ‘above and beyond’ customer service that I received from Pullman Auckland staff due to my incorrect booking. I incorrectly booked a night within the 24 cancellation period which meant I wasn’t eligible for cancellation and refund. However when I called and explained my situation the staff cancelled my booking and I received a refund. My family and I have stayed here many times and we have always received friendly and professional service. The hotel and its facilities and top notch too! Thank you Auckland Pullman.

We went to the restaurant, Tapestry. The food was very tasty & the staff were attentive. The atmosphere was great too & it was well patronised for an upmarket establishment. I would say though, that there was a disparity in the serving sizes. While my friend had the lamb rump & it was a good size, I had the similarly priced pork belly & it was much smaller. I would still have been hungry, except that there was too much lamb for my friend.

Our stay at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was modern and clean, facilities such as the pool and buffet breakfast were well managed. The staff went above and beyond for us as we were there to celebrate my partner's birthday, and they really made it special. Overall, very happy that we stayed there!!

Went to attend a conference. The hotel is prominently located at the Waterloo quadrant and easily accessible on foot, by car or public transport (buses). Paid and free parking ( neat Albert Park) is available. Wifi offered seamless connectivity. The hotel had a good ambience and was well managed. However, I felt the service a notch lower than my expectations of being in Pullman properties. One of the coffee machines wasn't fully functional and it took time for used cutlery and crockery to be cleared.

The rooms and location were excellent but I am extremely disappointed with my experience there. The towel and dressing gown were gross but worse than that was the fact that even though I reached out no one got back to me. This is a 5-star hotel! Unbelievable. Additionally, it's been 6 days since I checked out and I did not get my $50 security deposit back.

A lot of money for what ended up being a disappointing stay. On arrival there were no trolleys or staff to help with our bags, so my wife and I had to carry them all up along with our two young children. The staff on reception were efficient. Our two adjoining rooms, seemed like they had been semi refurbished recently. There was a small fridge but no milk, soft drinks, alcohol or snacks. When I called down for room service half of the menu wasn't available either. The rooms had no information about any hotel facilities or where they were located, there wasn't even a menu for room service. The beds were made and clean but there were crumbs and rings from plates and cups on the desks. The bathrooms were dated. Also, we were on the 12th floor and yet it seemed we could hear every single car that drove past like it was right outside the window and the loudest cars seemed to drive past all night. We had to join a long queue in the morning to gain access to the restaurant. Although you don't need to queue if you think of yourself as a VIP, as we watched two separate individuals take themselves to the front and be granted access after explaining the didn't have time to wait, unlike the rest of us. Once in the restaurant, I questioned if I should have bothered paying extra for it when the queues were snaking through the restaurant and once at the front, have of the optioned were empty. The highlight of the restaurant was the staff. They were doing a very good job in a very difficult set of circumstances. The pool was nice once we found it. I should have booked us into the Cordis.

Once again we enjoyed our stay at the Pullman with my family. However, the stay could have been better if the air conditioning in the room was working. We booked a one bedroom apartment and its air conditioning was not working and on the first night we managed to sleep only for three hours. The next day, we were moved to a different apartment but the air conditioning in the next apartment was marginally better.

250 a night, a decent bit of money for somewhere your not even aloud family to come visit? Felt as if they just don't want us younger couples to stay but then to tell my older loved ones( just 2 and my little bro) to leave within 5 minutes and wanted to straight away charge me a 200 fee because one had a smell of smoke on him like many smokers do.. couldn't have the sound on the TV without someone complaining and very little actually in the room. Staff at the counter are awesome though

I'm regularly a guest at this comfortable, well-located hotel. I'm well looked-after on every stay (one of the reasons I keep coming back), but on this occasion the hotel made a special effort, with a generous upgrade and welcome gifts. Other than that, the service was, as always, impeccable.

  • 3/5 M. G. 9 months ago on Google
I expected more, the hotel was good but there were those details. Like the room doors that didn't always close and you always had to make sure they are closed when leaving and entering. The AC worked well for heating, but was also quite noisy. The elevator control was strange, you always needed both hands and several trials, it only accepted the selected floor when the card was presented at the same time, the selection sometimes disappeared after some seconds. Then there were loose rails and much more.

Really great location so close to shopping and major event venues. Hotel spa facilities and services were excellent. Room clean and accomodating. Food in hotel restaurant yummy. Credit to your all staff, each and everyone were friendly, helpful and most pleasant to talk to. Definitely booking in again for future stays.

We booked an Executive Room with Lounge access. The bathrooms are very dated & look liked it was being held together with lot's of Silicone, & very outdated. Lounge access was advised on their website, said there would be water views, no, it was in a small ground floor room at the front of the building, no view & a really small selection of food, 1 dip, some cold cuts, pickled vegetables, olive & some nuts. I should have taken a photo, it was pitiful. An error was made with our booking & they wanted to charge us $65 each to use the lounge, luckily we didn't have to pay that much. Total rip off & Pullman you really need to lift your game! This was no 5 star accommodation. 3 or 4 star at best. I did talk to a manager regarding this, so hopefully some of my feedback will be listened to. Really the only good thing was the staff, they were wonderful, thank you, all.

We stayed for a concert at Spark arena which was super close and convenient for the (steep) walk back. The room was as pictured and check in was easy. We ordered the steak from room service menu and it was a highlight of our stay. So tender and well seasoned :) A busy hotel, we had buffet breakfast included which we arrived just after 8am. By 8.30 there was a line of people waiting for a table so definitely recommend getting in early. Pool area was nice, would love to go back in the summer when the whole area is open.

Great hotel, although under renovation when we were there. Great exercises equipment. Beds are good. Breakfast buffet is good. Obviously very easy to get to the airport. Rooms are quiet. No airport noise al all.

We had a staycation in the city, checked in early and indulged in a spa treatment which was absolutely Devine. Absolutely Loved the view from our room of yachts sailing on a Friday afternoon. Our room had Beautiful soft carpet & a welcome treat. We had a sauna/spa/swim in the morning followed by a fab array of breakfast options. Happy hour in the bar downstairs made our stay everything we needed. Can highly recommend the Pullman as an affordable treat in the city.

First of all, I didn't stay in the hotel. I went there to meet friends, also attended a few weddings. The hotel was under good managemnet - it's always tidy and clean. The staff are polite. The food was always great.

Room itself is nice, beds are comfortable, hotel is flash, breakfast was nice but I can’t believe a 5 star hotel has a toilet I have to side sideways in because my legs are too long. Absolutely wild.

We had a wonderful stay in the Pullman Apartments. The location is excellent and is one of the preferred pick-up points for tours. We stayed for three nights, during which found the staff went out of their way to solve problems and assist us at every turn. Although breakfast begins a little later--6:30AM--it is one of the best we have had. And, when we could not attend because of our tour early pick-up, Virat made sure we had a breakfast to-go. The pool and exercise room are also excellent.

Well located and great customer service. My colleagues and I were impressed with the high level of personalised customer service we experienced. This commenced from reception, through to the bar, breakfast and dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. Amazing ! Could not fault it. Would go back again.

A big thank you to Pullman Hotel for a beautiful stay during my 14-day quarantine. To the military, security and police who look after everyone’s health and safety here. To the staff who go over and beyond to make us comfortable on a daily basis. To the chef who made all the scrumptious meals. And to Justine and her team for being creative, thoughtful and helpful to ensure everyone’s stay here are pleasant. This is absolutely a 5-star hotel in every way. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable.

I am currently staying here for quarantine and the staff so far are extremely nice, the food is superb and everything is overall very good. All the staff are wearing all the right equipment (Masks, gloves etc). This hotel fells like home, so it has earned a 5 star review from me.

Great staff, great accommodation and outstanding gym/pool facilities even throughout the covid pandemic. I had a great stay! The rooms are big and well appointed. Plus, if you’re an Accor plus member they are offering half priced room service food, which is truly delicious.

I arrived late at night after a cancelled flight, the night reception and security staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional way. I was soon in a well appointed and spotlessly room with a hot meal and a glass of wine. Buffet breakfast was delicious with a great variety and, again, excellent service. Many thanks to all who made my stay so good.

We arrived on time but our room wasn't easy, so they up graded us to a suite. Was amazing staff were friendly and kind. The room it's self was so clean and well stocked. We ordered the tasting plate for 2 wow incredible and the cheese board 🙌 on point. Highly recommend and because they weren't exactly central traffic noise was minimal. Will return again

I write this as I am currently staying here at the moment. - For hosting and customer service: An easy 12/10. The people who work here are just lovely and look to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. I love the team here. - I'm staying in the Superior Room (one of the cheapest): It's a 7/10. Beds are wonderful, the room is very clean and you don't hear any outside noise a part from the odd siren that just so happened to be directly outside the building. It is limited on its in-room facilities. No kitchen or counter space so I ended up making my cuppa on the desk. The heating/air con works a treat. TV channels are limited and the bathroom is quite small. Anywhere else this room would be lovely but for the price that it is, I can assure any future guests that you are paying for customer service and not necessarily the room Overall: 8/10. I am very happy here.

A wonderful 3 night stay at the Pullman Hotel. Very friendly helpful concierge on arrival. The room was comfortable. The pool, spa, sauna and steam room were a definite highlight which we used daily. A great location. I would definitely stay here again.

We have just had the most incredible night away as a long weekend treat. Form the moment we arrived the staff were kind and helpful - the kids got amazing goodie bags and as our room wasn’t yet ready they upgraded us to a suite twice the size. The facilities were incredible the kids played for hours in the pool and my husband loved the steam room. The beds were so comfy and the room super clean. Buffet breakfast was fresh and delicious, the homemade baked beans a must try!! Thank you so much for having us Pullman Hotel we are already planning our next trip back.

A good hotel set in a great location and reasonably priced. Despite the shortage of staff the service was good and staff were attentive! I would not recommend the restaurant as it’s over priced for what you get, you can get much better within a 5 min walk and have a much wider choice.

  • 5/5 Shane B. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent stay - friendly and welcoming staff Here for a weekend away, and the choice of the Pullman was a great one. Location is excellent. From our warm and friendly welcome by Clemence (hope that is right) right through to the housekeeping staff, we found everyone friendly and looking as though they enjoyed their job. Valet of the car was efficient, as was check in. Upgraded room with a sea view was a lovely addition, with the memory foam pillows as asked for already on the bed. The bathroom was spacious with lovely amenities. The nespresso machine was good, but could do with a few more pods - 1 of the 4 provided is decaf! The bar staff were friendly with the right amount of banter. The breakfast was excellent. Even though both mornings the restaurant was busy, there was only a short wait for our eggs / waffles being cooked for us. There is a great hot selection, as well as the health bar with nuts and fruit. The only thing that could be improved is keeping up with the maintenance of the two coffee machines. At one point both were out of order for at least 5 minutes ... which meant quite a backlog of people waiting in line. Overall, the 2 night stay was a real treat. We will be back!

Great location and loved it On entry to the hotel we were well greeted by the team. We had dinner later on which was nice and my fish was bloody good. After dinner we grabbed a couple of umbrellas and went for a wander which was easy as so close to town. Following morning did the same again, woke early and went for a wander before coming back to checkout.

A curiosity, the Pullman faces Albert Park somewhat embarrassed about its state. It is coy about its down at heel nature, the foyer could be anywhere and is tasteful, if dull. However, as soon as one enters the elevator, the Pullman presents its greatest feat: transportation back to 1992. Communism is over and viva la free market baby. The carpets were new then, and the beige walls spoke of contemporary chic. If one wanted a small bathroom in the room, then one would get one in red granite. However, time has not been entirely kind on the 1990s financial services aesthetic of the Pullman, particularly concerning the formerly elegant if cheap looking wooden cabinets, which, curiously in this profligate age of waste, have been maintained. This has an ecological awareness that is not thoroughly advisable in a five star hotel, but is admirable. By all means save the environment, however if you want to savour the modern age perhaps try elsewhere. In the spa downstairs , a younger man was changing into a tuxedo. This gave me a deep and profound sense of disconnection, which added to the powerful sense that the hotel itself was a great seething vortex sucking all inside into the past. Perhaps this hotel is for those who desire to feel at home in the past, and what better place to get a good night’s sleep? But what dreams lie in the eerie miasma in the troubled nights of the Pullman?

A really enjoyable stay at Pullman Auckland. The hotel is well located for visiting all the places of interest, including walking up Mt Eden and ferries to the islands. I had a large, well-maintained room with a lovely view of the old Government House gardens. The staff in all areas of the hotel were welcoming and knowledgeable about their city. I particularly appreciated the reception staff's help with an early tour pick-up and preparing for a conference presentation. Many thanks, and I will definitely be a return visitor.

We stayed here for 1 night, and overall the hotel was pretty average. I would NOT call it a 5-star property, 3 star at best. There are multiple reviews saying the same thing, I wish I had read them. The rooms have no sound proofing, you can hear when the doors for the next room are opened/closed, can hear footsteps. There is no shower in the room, it is a hand shower! Just one charging outlet in the room. And really small rooms. The only positive would be the staff was nice and check in was smooth.

We stayed in the superior residence apartments, room clean, a bit dated but still comfortable and fine for a short stay. Bathroom huge and well stocked - floor could do with more towels/mats as the tiles are quite slippery. Hotel well situated, the restaurant was good for breakfast - we had room service dinner and mains were average at best but the potato croquettes, man they were amazing. Pool and spa services awesome, I'll come back just for the pool alone! Overall a great stay.

Fantastic spa, beautiful lobby, comfortable bed and very friend receptionist/staff. However, the person I spoke to on the phone told me there was an extra charge to use the spa and couldn't give me a price, whilst the receptionist told me there wasn't. Amenities inside the rooms are also a bit sparse for a 5 star hotel in comparison to some other hotels in New Zealand. Overall an enjoyable stay

Great service. Staff is awesome and helpful. Good, varied breakfast. Swimming poll and gym are great Unfortunately hotel is a bit old and rooms need to be refreshed but still it's not as bad. The biggest inconvenience are the elevetors which require a lot patients, mainly do to room key lock required to operate. Still the stay was very good and comfortable.

Our stay at this location was fantastic, and we loved every moment of it. Julian welcomed us at reception with a friendly and helpful demeanor. The room we stayed in was spacious and equipped with great amenities. We had the opportunity to indulge in the sauna and spa, which were more than just your typical spa facilities - they were quite upmarket. The food and drinks were both delicious and made for an enjoyable dining experience. I would book another stay here without hesitation.

After a rocky start it was quite a nice stay. We had booked a wheelchair friendly room when we arrived reception told us they had none available. We definitely needed a wheelchair friendly room so eventually the receptionist went to see her manager and they said if we could wait an hour or two they could make a room available. So we went and had lunch and a suitable room became available. We had very nice dinner with our guests so all turned out well. Next morning breakfast was the normal Hotel style buffet quite a good choice what food. All in all a pleasant stay.

Admittedly my stay is for quarantine from re-entering the border. That being said, my stay was very good. Really comfortable beds and great service where it could be provided. Slightly tired interior but isn't bad. I would however expect to be able to connect my phone to the smart TV and have the full range of smart TV apps of which there were none available.
