Patrick was very warm and welcoming upon arrival; he gave us a wee tour of the hotel and our room. He was super friendly! Our room was a great size with a very comfortable bed. It was clean and had all the amenities you’d expect from a small hotel. It was quiet throughout the night and loved that the bed also had a heated blanket! Loved the area; we were able to walk to dinner with plenty of options along the way. We would absolutely stay here again!

Characterful and comfortable B&B in a quiet location, within walking distance of the city centre and plenty of restaurants. Lovely breakfast each day and cheerful and easy going host. The studios were private and well equipped.

If not for the outside porch, so you could step out of the room, the stay would have been worse. The rooms need seriously updating.

Throw a mix of different style and age of furniture and decoration in a room and call it art. It could work for some I guess. We thought the room we stayed in (room 1) was very outdated with a worn down bed (way too soft). For the rest, the room was ok. The location is great at walking distance from the main street in Ponsonby

Totally got my 5 STARS. This place is really clean and tidy and the staff (Jacky & Soloi ) are super friendly. Our room was lovely, bed was comfortable and warm, shower had great water pressure too! (room 2). Despite being a fully booked B&B it still felt very private. The location is fantastic, we had a short walk to Ponsonby road for shopping & food. I highly recommend The Great Ponsonby Arthotel to any one whos looking for comfort, affordability & parking. note::: AFFORDABILITY! :-)

Adorable little hotel in a really great area - we were able to walk to dinner/ice cream/lunch super close by! Jackie was super sweet and took care of us :). Highly recommend - the rooms are super cute and the service is amazing. We only stayed here for one night but we should’ve stayed longer.

It's a bnb. Small, welcoming, unique, quaint, and really close to Auckland at a reasonable price. Ponsonby is trendy with lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance. I also recommend this bnb ( it's not really a hotel ! ) for the homely breakfast that you request when you book. We had a studio room with very comfy king-size bed, small ensuite, and kitchenette. Loved the colourful decor and eclectic feel as well as outdoor space to put our feet up. Recommend for people who're not too fussy about modernity but enjoy no fuss.

Wonderful warm welcome. Sophie and Soloi went out of their way to make us tea and get our room ready as we arrived early. Really homely and pleasant to be in. Great cotton sheets, comfy bed. 5 minutes walk to main Ponsonby with everything you could need. Very highly recommended. We'd give you 6 stars if we could.

Room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed in the room. Breakfast was good but limited and orange juice tasted more like a cordial drink. The price was far far too much for a b&b.

Very welcoming staff, free local beer on arrival. Comfy bed, soft towels, nice hot shower with solid water pressure. Delicious breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Very cozy clean quirky comfortable quiet B&B full of art in the hip Ponsonby section of Central Auckland, in a safe residential street, very walking distance close to restaurants and coffee shops. The breakfasts here were excellent. Daniella was wonderful as well. Here in March, with windows open, no A/C is needed. Highly recommended.

The place is absolutely charming and nicely done. We loved to stay there for a couple nights before renting a camper. The rooms are clean and nice and for breakfast you have different options to choose from - all freshly prepared for you. We can recommend the place to stay! Also, the location was easily reachable and safe to stay.

This is my favourite place to stay in Auckland by far. If you’re returning from overseas this place with take you back and bring you home. It is your classic kiwi older style building with all the charm. Everything here is charming, the buildings, the staff and the location. Even the neighbours are charming (the elderly man across the road ran over to help my daughter lift her suitcase ☺️ then introduced us to the neighbourhood cat George who acts like he owns the place, as in all of Ponsonby) ALL are super friendly. The breakfast is fantastic and I constantly eat out for lunch so am a bit hard to please, it’s excellent a real treat. I’ve just returned from Queensland (post quarantine) with just my iPad and had some work to do that was fine they’ve got a laptop, fax printer etc. There are little treats everywhere, great spot to shopping and the best restaurants and a walkway and park right next door. All of the staff are a delight, honestly cute as punch. It’s a gem.

Beautiful cozy b&b in the heart of Ponsonby. Super cute rooms and very friendly, welcoming staff who are always happy to help. They offer wonderful breakfasts and have a 24/7 tea and coffee station. Super close to all the bars and cafes too:). Also recommend as a safe place for independent female travellers
