I stayed in this hostel for a while, it’s very clean and nice to live in. Staff is really friendly and helpful. It is not a hostel for party so if you are a chill, and just want to go out on the weeknd this is for you! The area is full of place to eat and there is good bars around ;) Follow the rules, its everything in this hostel you have to know.

Absolutely wonderful! My first hostel, and I was so grateful for how clean it is! My twin room was the perfect amount of space and privacy, and the bathrooms and kitchens were always very clean. I love the location on K road too. The only complaint I had was that our window was stuck open, so it got very cold at night. But I just got a blanket and layered up - nothing to worry about! :)

Really nice hostel. Bathrooms are clean, beds were comfortable, little bit out of the city but that also makes it more quiet which I liked. Supermarkets are therefore a 15 min walk but convenience stores were right around the corner, so that made up for it :)

PROS: -Staff is friendly and helpful (especially the lady w/dogs at reception who was always this) -Bathrooms always stayed clean; tenants usually kept it clean and cleaners always did their job -On a quiet street, I barely heard any outside noise and it's easy to walk to shops or take the bus CONS: -For some reason, I couldn't get wifi on my laptop, just on my phone, even though I got wifi access on there at the last place I stayed at (however this may be more of a problem with my laptop than them I think) -Dryers take too long. When I first came here, it took me 2 hours to dry my load. If you put too much in at one time, it doesn't dry at all. -Thin walls, usually hear a lot when you're in a single room -Towels and blankets are not free, you need to pay $4 NZD each as they need to wash them afterwards -Elevator is rickety and always closes too fast Overall, despite all the cons I listed I didn't have any serious problems. Got a small room without windows, which is exactly what you would expect for the price. The room was really clean and the staff were really nice and helpful. Great location too. I had a work function in the city and really just needed a place to sleep afterwards. This was perfect for that.

Great spot to put your head down. Nothing fancy but perfect if you need somewhere central. Loads of good take aways and a city fitness right outside which is handy if you're a member (which I am). Very happy with this place. With the current conditions, wishing them well.

I got a private room for $50/night. The place was pretty much what you'd expect for that price, except for two things. The room didn't have any windows or ventilation. There was an air con vent in the ceiling but it was blocked up with cardboard or paper or something. There was a very loud fan whirring noise constantly coming fro the ceiling , perhaps from the blocked air con - luckily I had earplugs with me. As a hostel though the facilities were good - nice common area, very good kitchen.

I have been to camping grounds around NZ cleaner than that and where the staff was actually concerned about their guest feedback which wasn’t the case here. Rude property manager thinking I’m just “a backpacker” and whatever I say doesn’t matter. Value each of your customers!
