I absolutely loved my dining experience at FISH. The food was very good and clearly brought out a fancy, fine dining vibe to it. However some dishes displaying might not be photogenic enough for you if you’re in the group of “posting pictures of yummy-looking food you ate on the social media”, but the taste of their food really saves it all and indeed worth trying to be honest. Outstanding atmosphere and view. Super nice, friendly and thoughtful staff. There is literally nothing for me to complain about and I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to find an elegant, private and quiet place to dine at.

Air-conditioning and temperature regulation are not ideal in the restaurant, and the over-priced mains fall short in comparison to the excellent starters, entrées and desserts. However, FISH provides a complete fine dining experience without being needlessly pretentious or unconventional, which ensures that all diners are comfortable. The sauces that come with all dishes are phenomenal, and balance out the flavors adeptly. The service was flawless, and the prices of our favorite starters and entrées are very fair. Tomorrow's FISH will surely be just as spectacular.

I had high hopes for FISH Restaurant, given its association with the prestigious Hilton brand. My wife and I chose to celebrate her birthday lunch there, lured by promises of top-notch service, great food, and a stunning view. While the reservation process was smooth and the view lived up to its reputation, the experience quickly soured. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited an agonizing 45 minutes just to get drinks—something I had to personally request from the staff. And the delays didn't stop there; our lunch extended to nearly three hours due to the excessive wait for each course. While the food was decent, the service—or lack thereof—rendered it almost irrelevant. To add insult to injury, even a simple order like Diet Coke was delivered half full to "make room for ice," a detail that might seem minor but significantly detracted from the overall experience. Considering the hefty bill, the value for money was severely lacking. In summary, FISH Restaurant failed to deliver on almost every front. The breathtaking view was no compensation for the glaring issues in service and attention to detail. I can't recommend this place and have no intentions of returning. If you're expecting a Hilton-level dining experience, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Fish has a gorgeous location, and wall to ceiling glass windows to let you enjoy it. The interior is well decorated, with many different types of seating. We were there for breakfast, it is buffet style with warm dishes served at your table. There is plenty of choice from fruit to juices to pastries to yogurt to everything in between. The dishes are well created, our entire family enjoyed our visit.

The food is just spectacular - I'm not a big beef fan but the beef wellington was so juicy and tender, the best I've ever had. The starters have a lot of flavour and use fresh ingredients, and the desserts are also great, sweet but not too sweet. Customer service is on par - the waiters are knowledgeable about the menu and are friendly. Only downside was the table next t to us the customers were scratching the plate with their knife & fork while eating, which hurt my ears. Overall the experience was still well worth it, we will be back.

I visited the restaurant for my birthday dinner, I loved the entree. I had Chilli lime crab, it was amazing along with the best broth that I have ever had😃. For dessert, it was the classic creme Brulee with a hint of espresso. Overall had a great night with a beautiful view

Visited for the buffet breakfast was a lovely location with great views. The selection was good but not large. The hot section was great but the bacon and sausages were overly dry, unnecessarily. I liked the made to order menu which had fresh eggs and we ordered an omelette which was the highlight of our breakfast, so fresh and juicy. The tea was lovely and they used T2 brand which is great. The staff are so accommodating and very attentive to guests.

$245 per person for Xmas dinner and the food was.. and I rarely say this if you look at my 800+ reviews “shit”, the starters were cold, but we thought maybe the arancini and scampi tail were supposed to be, but when the lamb, which was over cooked came out on stone cold plates with vegetables that resembled something that came out the fridge, we knew it was all low quality service, the dessert was nice.. spending over $1000 for three people, expected so much more, terribly disappointing, kudos however our drinks bill was refunded.

I love the wagyu entree, so yum 😋. We're eating right next to the balcony, a lovely sea view. It's a nice venue for a big group to dine in.

Went there for lunch today, lovely view of the harbour. very nice and quiet place. The food was nice and fresh. Chicken breast was so tender and crispy on the outside. The only downside was the waitress that served us had a very strong body odor that we can't ignore. But she was really lovely.

Oh what a total anticlimax Fish was.  Anticipated eating here for a celebration for some time. Stunning day, stunning setting overlooking the harbour. Asked to sit out on the deck but weren't allowed. By 7.00 when we left no-one had sat at the tables on the deck. Hmmm. Sunday evening it was pretty deserted, 2 couples,  a group of 13 Chinese foreigners & us. The wait staff were pleasant & attentive. That & the setting are the only positives. Never in my life have I wanted to throw the main meal at the chef & walk out, until that is tonight. My disappointment was absolute. The entrees started to let us down. Scampi entree was so small it would fit in the middle of your hand for $28. Four tasty but tiny pieces, the rest of the entree from the sauce to the seaweed mat was bland. The salt & pepper squid equally tasteless, more bland white sauce & some sundried tomatoe mix, which was the only thing with flavour. The tempura Bluff oysters were the saving grace of the entrees but once again the dipping sauce was the universal bland white sauce. The main of lamb rump, sounded grand. Nicely cooked lamb but the paprika, pinenut herb taboulis, pomegranate sesame labneh was the biggest fail ever. The only flavour I got was something akin to cider vinegar, unedible. Lamb rump & vinegar, not a flavour combination that works so I just ate the lamb with no jus, tough brocollini & roast potatoe for $39. Sadly the worst meal I've ever had. My son took to pouring the butter sauce from the potatoes over his snapper. Why, because the snapper itself had no sauce & the surrounding combinations on the plate were "a bit spicy". The chef seems to have his flavour/texture combinations all wrong. The saddest thing is I won't remember my son's 15th for all the right reasons, I'll just remember the dreadful, expensive meaI I had.  I won't ever return to Fish. I'll go to Soul or Giraffe or any one of the teaming restaurants in the Viaduct.

FISH is located on the first floor of the Hilton Auckland Hotel, which allows you to have a beautiful view over the water and enjoy a jazzy ambiance during the evenings, ideal for a romantic dinner or for a business meeting as well. Their fish was perfectly cooked, and I would recommend the squids as a starter before ordering either the market fish, the toothfish or salmon. Service was also pretty good, and they have a good set of options when it comes to wine too. Definitely worth a visit.

All in all it was a negative experience, the wait for the mains was well over 45 minutes and when the food finally did come my streak was dry, chewy and extremely overcooked. When I asked for it to be returned the waiter was not sure if my steak was over or under cooked??? Only reason I have not given a one star is because when the food did finally come it was quite tasty however not sure I will be going here to spend that kind of money again.

Great service, the food looks great but the portion is small. Not sure it's worth the price you pay. For fine dining, look elsewhere.

Fancy place for any celebrations. Quality customer service and attention to details beyond expectations. Was a lovely night to have dinner in this cozy restaurant. Very well pleased with cleanliness and the toilet is an old style. Wood wall panels are unique and designs. Highly recommended 👍 kudos to the team.

My husband and I went to FISH Restaurant for my birthday because it's connected to the Hilton brand, and we thought it would be a fancy place to eat. Making a reservation was easy, and the view was really nice. But after that, things went downhill. Even though the place wasn't busy, we had to wait 45 minutes just to get drinks. My husband had to go and ask the staff to serve us. We kept waiting for everything, and lunch ended up taking nearly three hours. The food was just okay, which was frustrating because we had to wait so long for it. Also, my husband's Diet Coke was only half full because they said they were making space for ice. It was a small thing, but it showed us they weren't really paying attention. Given how expensive everything was, it didn't feel like good value for the money. In the end, the restaurant didn't live up to what we expected from a Hilton place. The nice view couldn't make up for the bad service and lack of care. We won't be going back and wouldn't recommend it. If you're looking for a dining experience that's up to Hilton standards, I'd say try somewhere else.

One of the best seafood restaurant we ever had for long time. High level Freshly cook seafood and creative way to design the dishes and their menu. Very kids friendly environment and great speed for the serving food even on 1st January.

Went for breakfast. Called first to see if non -resident can walk-in for breakfast. On the other side of phone they advised you don’t need to book and can walk in for breakfast. There was bit of que as soon as we arrived. Greeted by Staff and they apologised for the wait. They said they need to check for space for 2, within seconds they came back and advised we do have some space available outside, which is what we want on this beautiful day. We sat down and Victor came with a warm smile and welcoming attitude and served us water. Before I go further I believe Victor should be one of your best staff. Vibes you get from him are so amazing and so comfortable like a grandpa (He is too young for that), his service is exceptional. Food was good well served. Very neat and tidy environment and benches. Refill was fast and with a smile. All staff members were smiling and greeting as they went passby. We gotup to get our food. Now placement of food was little confusing especially for the first timers and you have to go and check all corners to know what is served where. But after a while you get to know better. Well cooked food, scrambled eggs were creamy and moist. Bacon was soft juicy and still crispy. Good selection of breads and toppings. Chia pudding was out of this world with coconut cream, well thought. It seems like fruit yogurt was from supermarket because it was too sweet. However, selection served with it was great with nuts, blanched almonds, oats and sunflower seeds. Fresh cold press juice was good. Coffee served with it was freshly brewed. It was amazing experience. Victor walked to us and offered another cup of coffee, I don’t know how he read my mind , but that’s exactly what I need to finish off my breakfast. Price was reasonable. Food was amazing, location and view was great and service was exceptional. Great job done by team. And special thanks to Victor.

Ordered the queen crab entree and was surprised by the burst of mouth filling flavours. Also had the lamb belly, so deliciously tender and rich. Smoked octopus I feel is an iconic dish here too, very nicely presented and tastes amazing. Everything is nice. I highly recommended this place.

Went for their high tea experience which costs $63 per person. Unfortunately, apart from the Zealong tea it was very disappointing and hugely overpriced for what was offered. Not only were the options unexciting and cheap but they had also stale from sitting on the counter for the whole day (we went in the afternoon). In terms of savoury options there was a heavy reliance on 'puried' pastes on bread which just seems a bit cheap (not to mention the purees had hardened and darkened, which tells me they weren't being made fresh throughout the day). I personally didn't have much more in me to try the dessert items but my mother said they were also average and underwhelming. Definitely not what you would want to be getting given the price, reputation and reviews. Haven't tried the actual restaurant food, but based on this experience I have little incentive to return. We spoke to the supervisor and provided feedback. The supervisor was cordial and professional but there seemed (from my perspective) to be a reluctance to admit that there was something wrong with the food, rather that we were entitled to have our own opinion. We were allowed to only pay for one persons high tea (there were two of us) but given the quality even that really seemed like a rip off, but I did not wish to argue as I had tried a number of options in trying to find something redeeming. Service otherwise was good, definitely no complaints there and the venue is obviously nice. These are the reason I'm giving 2 stars. But the food was a huge let down and I would not recommend spending your money here.

Serendipity High Tea. The service and setting was 5 star, we enjoyed our visit. As per other people's reviews the food is not 5 star. The scones are flat, hard and dense. This should be addressed as it has been raised in other reviews. As does the solid not-so molten camembert. The choux pastry was soft, as were some of tart cases. The blue cheese tart and yuzu tarts were delicious. The service is great and because of this I reccomend people give it ago.

Booked a table and confirmed one day before. When arriving, no one is in the restarant, It is empty apart from two cleaners on site. We asked for a table at the waterfront but were told By the waitress they were all booked, three in total. However two tables were still empty without anyone showing up even after we had finished our lunch i.e. one and half hours later. This is very bad! Service like this is not expected from a five star hotel. My sashimi travelly starter is a bit fancy, dressing overpowered, fish is dry. 3 stars for this. Scotch fillet is nice, cooked perfectly but a bit salty, 4 stars. Market fish Risotto tastes a bit weird, snapper on the Risotto is too hard and dry, won't recommend! 2 stars. Fries are nice, 5 stars. Service is good, a bit slow though.

We went for High tea. I've never been to high tea buffet or any dessert buffet in Auckland NZ so I was so excited. Price was around 60 dollars including tea but excluding coffee. Not many variety of food compare to other hilton's dessert buffet. I didn't like their scone. It wasn't a tasty scone for me. Quality of food was good.

The food was tasty but the starter portion sizes could be slightly larger. The waiter was asking what we wanted to eat from the moment we sat down, and repeatedly tried to take our order for mains while we were busy eating our starters. I had to ask if I could just first finish eating my starter first (after I had asked twice in the space of 10 minutes to be given a moment to decide). I would have preferred some more time and not left feeling rushed on my Birthday. He also couldn't give an idea as to what chocolate selection the chef had made. Why he couldn't just have asked, as I requested, I don't know. He didn't make us feel welcome or valued. Overall a bit of an underwhelming experience and we probably wouldn't return. My partner was also ill 10 minutes after we left the restaurant. Not the best Birthday...
