👍👍 We came twice during a one week stay as we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Duck leg confit was cooked to perfection. Mussels (garlic and saffron) were full of flavours. Too bad there was no escargots available. There's a private room for function and we overheard that there's no minimum spen... Excellent. Top drawer French food and very strong wines by the glass. Went for three courses and four wines and the price was very reasonable. This has been placed straight into the 'go to' category. Looking forward to my next meal.

Beautiful mac n cheese that has you nodding away with delight. It went well with the Moscow Mule. Cute little French restaurant. Would definitely come back. Merci!

Nice little restaurant with good atmosphere. I went for Valentine’s Day with my partner and got a really nice Central Otago Pinot Noir. The table we chose was round and small, we didn’t have enough space for everything which was not the best. The restaurant was small but cute. Our table was very close to the next table and we could hear their entire conversation which was slightly entertaining I guess. Unfortunately, they could also hear ours. The entrees we ordered (snails and mussles, can’t recall names quite at this moment) weren’t what we were expecting, not very impressed. The mains themselves were great! Large portion, my partner couldn’t finish her plate. My steak was good, cooked well and delicious. Didn’t try desert, we were too full. Overall, it was a nice date. Might not go back again.

Loved our dinner. Each dish was extremely well prepared. The fish in particular was very impressive. The steak was ordered rare but was closer to medium rare. Having said that, restaurants always err on the side of caution so it's probably to be expected. The sauces were delightful, especially the chimmichurri on the cauliflower and the bernaise on the brocollini. The atmosphere is very chilled and the waitstaff professional. The drinks menu is extensive!

Located in the heart of Auckland City. Offering a variety of food from French cuisine. Les Escargot was the highlight of the meal. Duck confit was on par, perfectly cooked duck, soft and tender.

We had such a fantastic Friday night at Le Chef in Auckland CBD a few days ago. Oh my!... The event was called "La Longue Table Du Chef". It is a French festival that goes for 10 nights only in March and it is set to celebrate the French culture, the amazing French cuisine and - of course - the famous French l'amore. 🍷🥐🥖🍷 The evening was a real blast. At first, we were greeted by a lovely French gal and offered a glass of chilled champagne. Then we were seated at the longest table ever (I believe it fits 100 guests!). It was such a fun and unusual experience to be dining with that many people - absolutely loved it!... The dinner was a five-course journey through the most delicious French dishes, accompanied by lots, lots of red wine (of course). The service was absolutely impeccable. The dishes were divine. To finish off the evening, there was an abundance of dancing and singing all around this long table, both by the guests and the waiters alike! And - just to make this occasion absolutely perfect - there was even the iconic French entertainer JP present (@presentingjp ) who was a lot of fun as always. Merci beaucoup @le_chef_auckland - it was an unforgettable and most delicious evening ever! Definitely coming back again.

A small French area in Auckland. Typical French kitchen and wine. Feeling like in France. Service very friendly. We had a salat with goat cheese it was delicious. Also the selection of fresh wine is great. I can absolutely recommend this place for a drink or a meal. We enjoy it very much.

This is an excellent place to have an authentic French experience and create wonderful memories. We had an early dinner and it was simply amazing. The restaurant exudes a cosy atmosphere and the service is outstanding. Moreover, the food and wine menu is next level, offering a wide range of delectable options.

Reading the reviews makes you wonder about this place. We love it. L’escargot are a-game and we really enjoyed the flavours of the rest of the dishes. Cheer up people, this is a bit of Paris in Auckland and it’s really good!

We went here for Auckland restaurant month and had their 3 course menu. It was very good value, the taste and portions were better than our expectations. The service was excellent and atmosphere was cozy. Had a happy meal!

Le Chef is a French casual bistro. The decor and ambiance is absolutely lovely when you walk in! The waitress is super nice, attentive, and quick in response! The dishes we got are really delicious as well as presentable! I would definitely recommend coming here!

Friendly staff, amazing service, cozy environment and beautiful food. I had the best eggs Benedict ever; very filling. The food and drinks were delicious and not too rich. Our water was often filled.

Liked the atmosphere here, staffs are friendly and professional. Good taste of food, liked the snails, fish and dessert 😋 Highly recommended, nice place to enjoy after work.

Came at restaurant month and had the 3 course meal for $45. Food was brilliant for this price point. Had escargot for the first time and it was OK - a bit bland but passable with the green sauce. But the steak with blue cheese was out of this world - almost wanted to lick my plate clean. Place was a bit crowded, but had a cool ambience to it.

Good food, super bad service. Could feel that kinda vibe from some staff of ignoring Asian customers & always serve them last even tho they came in a bit earlier.

Le Chef is the equivalent of a Parisian Bistro transported to Auckland. Just great food, attentive service & good people. Highly recommend.

Wonderful restaurant and excellent food. We ordered the french raclette which was very good but our first waitress had no idea what we should do with it so we had to wait until someone else came over. One young waitress is amazing and very knowledgeable and helpful, the other not so much. 😏 maybe she's new. Escargot is very nicely done and croque monsieur is very nice. We shared a chocolate mousse that was so nice that it was finished before I remembered to take a photo. 😁

This place is a cafe institution of the Auckland CBD for a reason. Popped in at 7am for an early breakfast. Service was prompt and friendly and the coffees were great. The big breakfast and omlette was also great. Just a tip, if you're ordering the big breakfast, make sure you're hungry because it's big. Overall, great spot.

The food and service were great. I had the avio tartine and my partner had the eggs breakfast. We also had coffee and lattes. Evening was very good.

Find an excuse — any excuse — to come here. Then pat yourself on the back for making a good decision. We came for a weekday brunch and ordered the croque madame, eggs Benedict, and piccolos. Food was delicious, fresh, and quick. Service was warm and attentive. Setting is delightful, if not also a bit tight. Especially great for a sunny day with their outdoor seating open. I look forward to returning.

We had our Christmas lunch here. Great to find a resto which opens on Christmas day especially for a couple like us who gets tired of cooking especially nursing an injured spouse. Lovely food! Great service.

One of our go-to cafes in Auckland CBD. Delicious food and coffee. We usually get the eggs benny/croque monsieur/pain perdu, and they're always super tasty! The interior is decorated with lovely posters, art, and the exposed brick is a nice feature.

It's that time again...Breakfast and your family is hungry in the city. What do you do? You find Le Chef!! We had an excellent time here and enjoyed ourselves greatly. I would recommend a booking because it has very limited (and small) seating inside but also several tables outside, if that fancys your family. We arrived on-time and were greeted with a smile. Our table was clean and reserved for our booking time. We are a family of 4 and were seated at the biggest table they had for 5, maybe 6. So keep that in mind for larger bookings. We were served water and our oder taken promptly. Food did not take too long to arrive and it was hot as well as our coffees. They make their own croissants and pastries so be aware of that because they were very good. My wife enjoyed the muesli however it was a lot. My son had the French toast with bacon. I received eggs on sourdough toast with bacon and our daughter ordered the croque monsieur which is this incredible sandwich. You should try it. We left very happy and would go again. I would encourage you to do the same, you will not be disappointed.

Went there for the first time this restaurant month. The food was absolutely lovely, the wine choice for the set menu was perfect and the staff was super sweet as well. Plenty of gluten-free options too! Would just like to say accessibility wise - it is not the most accessible for wheelchair users inside as the place is quite narrow with little room to manoeuvre. There is seating outside which would be great during spring/summer. Had a lovely time!

We ordered from the Heart of the City Restaurant Month $40 Three Course Lunch & Dinner Menu. You got to try the Les famous French escargots for entrée. Friendly service and the food came out fast. The food is delicious and the flavours are delightful. Best to book a table online to secure a seat

I ate here years ago during Restaurant Month and had lunch here with a friend a couple of months ago. Lunch service went well - very loud and busy though but that was probably more because of the people at the next table. It was quite hot inside but the outdoor tables were full. We managed however and our meals were good as was the service. Looking forward to trying out the brekkie menu if I can get up early enough on the weekend (I don't eat brekkie during the week). Location is decent as its tucked away off High Street and a good pit stop in between shopping.

Had the Auckland Restaurant Month menu for dinner at Le Chef last night. The warm goat cheese salad with candied walnuts was lovely. The catch of the day was a bit dry but the mango and strawberry salsa on top was nice. Best Creme brulee ! The restaurant was busy, likely because the deal was quite good. The restaurant was a bit small so we sat quite tightly.

Great food (good presentation and taste), fun service and awesome location. Will come back again. The Crème Brûlée dessert is a highlight.

Cheerful Barista and an awesome experience. Luckily it was not crowded in the morning and we were so happy to enjoy our space, our coffee and food (before the maddening schedule ahead consumed us). Will definitely be back for more. ✌️
