This restaurant is simply amazing beside serving authentic Thai cuisine. The best is the wait time is very short for your order you place. Little Thai restaurant runs by humble Thai owner in the neighbourhood. It might look quiet when you pass by, but they get quite alot takeaway orders and the kitchen is quite busy during peak hour. Food was hit and miss sometimes, but overall quite good. I am not too sure if their kitchen extractor fan has broken down, our shirt smells so oily after the dinner. This is one of four top ten favorite place to have a great dinner or quick lunch around Newton area, Auckland, New Zealand The hostess and staff are really great! Friendly and always smile! I wish we have more time to come for delicious lunch or dinner; as Ruang Thai offer a great range of authentic Thai food and cuisine. There are ample of space and seating. You give that the lightings are soothing and not too bright; besides that the place is spotless and clean at any given time! Price is affordable here, service is fast and yummy food are serve hot! You should give this great Thai restaurant a try; you are not likely to waste your time or get disappointed! We give you Seven Star rating out of possible Five star rating! Excellent customer service and I left my glasses there and went back to get it. The waiter kindly left it on the front desk for me. Very friendly! The food was really delicious. I ordered vegetarian curry noodle soup. The service speed was reasonably quick. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT, WILL COME AGAIN IF NEARBY! Thank you for the wonderful food and service!

The portions smaller compared to other Raung Thong in Mt albert and it was more dear here BUT it was still very delicious and it was a nice location. I would recommend checking it out and having their options. We had Tom yum and sizzling beef and it was a yummy experience

Very reasonably priced meals. Excellent taste and large portion sizes. There is reasonable space to sit in the restaurant and the counter staff is very patient to explain the ingredients - we wanted rice noodles instead of wheat and they were happy to customise the recipe. Personally, I would rate their "medium" spice as medium-to-hot. Go for mild if you can't take the heat. ;)

You gotta try their Kai Soi Crispy Noodles! Back when I used to work in this vicinity, everyone ordered this meal and lead times became long. But worth the wait! Yum!

The place might look empty and traditional from the front but don't let that fool you. Food is absolutely lipsmackin good. Service is excellent. It's quite affordable and good value for money too.

Disgusting! We ordered two beef massaman curries and they arrived each with only three tiny pieces of beef and you can’t even all it a curry, I have never seen a curry so watery before. It was literally a soup. Also, tasted awful, veggies weren’t cooked properly either. Do not eat here, go somewhere else, they have no idea how to cook a good curry.

Tucked away little gem. Consistently good food probably the best pad thai I have had around. Also if you haven't tried it, the massuman lamb shank is super good value and massively tasty. Not the most bougie décor or pretentious like a lot of other places that serve lesser quality food and make you pay for the ambiance but this is a place where if you are genuinly out for a good feed is well worth trying. Maybe they just put all that passion into the product. Just a thought. 😉

Good for lunch, but get packed. Good value for money and taste good too! Few times had to wait longer than others in the group to get my dish, but the quality of the food keep me going back there.

If you're looking for a quick, tasty Thai feed this is the spot. No frills but like others have said the food is on point every time. And to make things even better the prices are pretty unbeatable given the location.

Good food and reasonable portion at a reasonable price. Lovely service once engaged, more attentive first expression would improve the service just that little bit more. We were unsure whether to order at the counter or not as the waitress didn't come to take our order for around 15mins after she greeted us as we entered. After waiting, trying to get her attention as she was sitting at a table hand washing cloths. I stood to order. Then she approached us to take the order. Authentic feeling environment to the restaurant. Overall good place to eat.

Hands down the best Thai food ever! Highly recommend them for their flavour, generous portion sizes and wonderful customer service :) Always a treat!

Went here for my birthday dinner and it was the most beautiful experience. The staff were lovely and hospitable. The food was phenomenal, super affordable and the portions were generous. 10000% recommend to dine in and I will definitely be back.

Came by for a lateish dinner. Went up to the counter to get a table and was given a table to choose, menus and water. The waitress was in the kitchen most of the time taking orders out but I was able to get my order taken when she was between orders. I had the seafood Kao Soi and fish cakes. The fish cakes were nice, especially with the dipping sauce. the Kao soi is similar to a laksa with a cake of crispy noodles on the side (with noodles in the soup). The broth was tasty and the crispy noodles gave a nice crunch. Prices were decent, around $20 for entree and meal.
