The food was okay except the dumpling. The tea that was served was nice. The serving speed was slow, after we finished Peking duck we waited for the next dishes about more than 20 mins. The atmosphere and interior design were outstanding.Anyway, kind of over price.

Huami is a bit overrated. Good booking and very pleasant online communication. Tables a little cramped but service is good. Tiny bit misleading offering everyone green tea and water on arrival then charging $4 a cup and $13 for a carafe of tap water. The wood-fired oven manuka honey-glazed pork char siew, mustard sauce is an AMAZING must have dish. Peking duck is not carved at the table and Empress Garden Restaurant does this dish much better. Squid ink prawn dumplings were disappointing and prices a bit high. Probably would not return.

Been here a few times now. The food quality and customer service used to be outstanding, but now has decreased a lot compared to a few months ago. All the food tasted too oily and salty, and the chicken buns quality has decreased. They also forgot part of our order. It's still good food, but not worth the price anymore, plenty of better restaurants in the city.

Overall, my experience at Huami Chinese restaurant was very disappointing. The restaurant advertised a set menu on their website that was not available, and the manager did not apologize for the misleading information. The restaurant also did not serve traditional Chinese tea and only had infused tea bags. Additionally, the glass door to the outside dining area was left open, causing cigarette smoke to fill the indoor dining area, making for a very unpleasant dining experience. The steamed fish was overcooked. Although the food quality was reasonable, the management and advertising were the worst part of the experience. Additionally, the restaurant charged for condiments such as chillies, which I found to be unreasonable. To make the experience worse, the staff asked if we would like to split the bill or pay for all, which I found unprofessional and unnecessary (Tips: don't initiate). I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Food: 3.5 out of 5 Service (waiters and waitresses): 4 out of 5 Service (management): 1 out of 5

Staff members are friendly, courteous and helpfull. Some are attentive and some aren't so much. We ordered glutinous rice dish, and we waited for 1hr before being told that the kitchen forgot to make it for us; this is after our attempts to to asked about the dish earlier and we were only told that it'll take 10 minutes - every time we asked, without any follow up from their side. Food is a bit too bland for me. The dishes are going towards fusion rather than pure Asian.

Food was fantastic! Peking duck, fried rice, Squid ink Dumplings the pork belly.. cant fault it! yummm Service was extremely average and there was a huge issue with getting drinks to our table. My Cocktail arrived almost 1 hr after i ordered it, we were well into our food by then.. i thought id get a head start and order my second drink well before i finished my 1st, only to be approached by the waiter 20 min after to tell me that the bar is actually now closed and they are not serving any alcohol! there was no last call or clarification straight away that the second drink is not possible to be made. We genuinely raised our concern about the service and communication of the waiter, they just shrugged their shoulders and didn't really care. Kind of left a bad taste when we left.. Spoken to a couple people about this since and they had seminar experience...

Finally had a chance to try Huami. Light taste, not oily. Peking duck was great, although the skin can be crispier. Dim sum comes in three pieces. The truffle prawn dumpling was good. Service can be a bit better.

One of the most fancy Chinese restaurant in town: Baiju ice cream is a must try (it has the pleasant Chinese white wine aroma but taste totally like ice cream; love the lamb, soft crab and scallops; rest are average

All in all a really good dining experience. We got the clay pot eggplant, xiao long bao, yangzhou fried rice, tabasco prawns, whole peking duck and for dessert the mango pudding and green tea brûlée. All the food was delicious! I will say though that I’ve had food of similar quality at other eateries but it’s rare that everything is at such a high level. Although everything was good the peking duck, eggplant and green tea brûlée are must tries in my opinion. The duck was perfection and the ratio of meat to wraps was perfect! And the service was great, our food came super quickly and the staff were attentive.

Awesome place. Friendly staff. Had the marinated jelly fish and it was way better than I thought! Such great service. Enough on the menu for cheaper meals and upper class meals

Good experience with my family for a birthday gathering. Amazing location and interior. Not sure if the dishes are best in Auckland though.

Thank you for the personal touches added to the service. Much appreciated. And thank you to the young lady who provided much of the service throughout the night. She had a very pleasant nature and paid close attention to detail. Service from beginning to end was exceptional. We had the Nectar Menu and it was divine with just the right amount of food. The clear crabmeat soup was my favourite. Wide range of drinks on offer. I love rum so had the Jade Dragon. Well worth the price and would return to have it again in a heartbeat. Husband had the House Beer which he enjoyed.

Beautiful restaurant... Absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very efficient. The plates were a large serve which I'm not used too. Is a bit pricier than other yum cha options, but the serving sizes and quality of food explained that away. Would highly recommend as a must.

Great food and services. The private room is quiet and spacious. The scallop, prawn and duck are amazing! Great for a special occasion.

Food was good here..service is excellent. We ordered a variety of dim sums and happy with the quality. The dessert was amazing with the right balance..the only issue is probably the kids meal as the fried chicken lacked flavour and crisp. Follow for more @cloverbakesnz

Very yummy traditional Shanghai Style Chinese food. The seasoning is not too strong and the portions are moderate, so you can enjoy many dishes. I particularly recommend the xiao long bao(小籠包), which is the best Chinese restaurant in the CBD.

Huami truly exceeded my expectations! Their extensive menu offers something for everyone, and the food was absolutely amazing and lived up to the hype. My personal favorite was the Steamed Pork Ribs, and the Duck was divine as well. Their drinks were not only beautifully crafted but they were delicious. While both the food and cocktails were ridiculously good, what made the experience even more enjoyable was the exceptional service by Eva and Eli. They were unbelievably gracious, kind, and attentive. Eva's sweet and lovely personality and professional approach were impressive, and Eli's welcoming demeanor put me at ease. Even when I accidentally spilled my drink, they were incredibly understanding and replaced it promptly. The combination of awesome food and spectacular service makes it a definite Win-Win, and I can't wait to return!

Good service and food as it is a little pricey. Some dim sum are very tasty like shaomai and baked bbq buns. However, some dishes are quite average like spinach dumplings and fried turnip cake. Congee is satisfying. In addition, the table was too small for Yum Cha!

  • 2/5 Alex T. 9 months ago on Google
A whole duck is small. Not a real Chinese food, more western style. Once is enough. Service is good!

The Yum Cha flavor is decent, but the Peking duck's quality doesn't quite measure up to what it used to be years ago.

You win me back! When huami ooened a few years ago with media exposure in almost every corner of Auckland made my expectations built up high into the sky. Sadly, my first try was a total disaster. Ever since that I say no to any occasion that hosts there. I have lost all my confidence. A couple of weeks ago because of business dinner I stepped into that door again after all these years. This time turns out to be a great experience that I ever wanted since it's opening. Service is good Food is good Taste is good Atmosphere is good Nothing is complaining Thank you Huami, you win me back.

Huami serves the best Chinese cuisine in Auckland. Everything is just perfect. Ordered the set menu this time and it was such a feast! Can’t wait to visit again!

Me and my partner decided to eat here just to find a place to eat dinner together. The service was lovely from the beginning - seated within 15 mins, and the restaurant and bar has a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious - we tried the beef, lamb shanks and stir fry vegetables. The lamb was absolutely the highlight, marinated perfectly and just melts in your mouth. I think the price was worth the food. We left very satisfied. Highly recommended chinese restaurant and bar

Felt “so-so” after dining at Huami for there Yum Cha service. The food was good, but the experience was lacking. Service was quite poor, which when dining at a restaurant positioning itself as “premium” Chinese food, I would have expected the service to match. The dim sums were served with only three portions compared to the usual four at other Yum Cha places (although they were larger than usual Yum Cha restaurants), this made it awkward to split in a group. What I found most egregious was the dumpling with “truffle” - it came with only the tiniest bit on top. Better hope it the wind doesn’t blow it off the table! This was funny to me, as in an instagram ad they showed this dish with a decent slice of truffle on each dumpling. I understand truffle is expensive, but why advertise it this way if it’s not what I will receive? I drop the rating by a star based on that alone…

We had a great Mother’s Day dinner at Huami. Thank you Jamie for the attentive service and friendly smile. Definitely will come back although food can be improved 😊

Amazing Peking Duck and other genuinely authentic Chinese dishes. Located across from the Grand and next to Sky City, this is an easy place to find and dine at. The service was snappy and friendly, and our Singaporean friends were really impressed with the quality. Enjoy!

Took my daughter here for dinner. Restaurant gets very busy. They were full..Lucky we had a table booked. Service was very nice and friendly and food was just great . Menu has a variety and a very well organized drinks menu too. We parked in skycity carpark. Present your ticket while paying the restaurant bill and receive parking discount. Was a good night of Dinner for us.

The roast duck was good, every piece of the meat was soft and melted in your mouth, skin was crispy wo fats. Black pepper beef was good , tender meat and not too over powering with pepper. Fried rice wasnt oily . All the dishes were good. Limited photo to show as we were busy eating , but I have a recipe to prove. The wine was good ,taste fresh despite a long period of lockdown. The manager mentioned everything starts fresh .

Very nice atmosphere and Chinese cuisine. Their lamb was very tender and so are the other dishes I've had.

We came for the restaurant of the month menu, the food is on point! The dim sum is okay but I do love the Peking duck and the yangzhou fried rice. Atmosphere is quite nice, staff are really friendly. Worth the price, definitely would come back again!

Beautiful service tasty well presented dishes 10/10 food Good value for money/ big portions Recommend booking in advance because it’s nice and busy Only thing is not having 4-5 different waiters serving the table next time would be preferred Very multi cultural staff team which I really liked Excellent attention to cleanliness with cutlery beautifully polished Great place for cocktails

We came as a group of seven to celebrate June birthdays on a wet Saturday evening. Apart from the photos, we also had quick-fried string beans, free range chicken, Shanghai 'xiao long bao' and dumplings, chicken strips and wonton noodle from Kid's menu and sorbet selection. The dishes are nice and the services superb. I like the duck the most, but the portion of each dish is not big. It works out about $40 per person, but more importantly, we enjoyed our family time together. Booking is essential to avoid disappointment over weekends.
