Great steakhouse with lovely and friendly staff. We had the calamari as a starter and that was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My steak was cooked well and seasoned nicely too. Overall, a great experience if you're looking to enjoy a good chunk of meat :)

I've been to this establishment many times over the years and my father attended it's original opening in Albert St. It's always served top notch food albeit at a top notch price. That said, I've never yet had a disappointing visit. This particular instance I had a Sirloin cooked in Garlic whilst my partner had an Eye Fillet plus we shared some grilled onions & some grilled mushrooms. As always excellent. No hesitation whatsoever recommending the place.

Food was amazing, great portions sizes, decently priced. Had the t bone and scotch fillet. Service was excellent especially our waitresses.

Finally made it to the Angus steak house 😁 I got a Sirloin with an egg on top, salad & chips on the side - the perfect steak meal. That was a mean feed and I would go back again. Thank you for the food.

Our first steak house restaurant was delicious to the core. Myself and my sons had Scotch fillet steak (medium BBQd to perfection) with egg and added sides of creamy mushrooms, fried onions and fries. Desert was nice. Service was top notch.

To be honest, customer service was what really brought the review rating down. I felt extremely unwelcome as well as my other family members and the service was absolutely disappointing. I saw one of the waitress’ simply chuck the salad on another persons table. You would expect people serving you to at least be kind or smile and feel welcomed but I felt the exact opposite. It felt uncomfortable and as if I was being ignored and looked down on from their words and attitude. The beef was alright, not the best. We asked for medium well but got medium rare with blood oozing out which wasn’t very pleasant. Will probably not come back here again.

Delicious! Was referred to this restaurant by my Airbnb host and I’m so grateful! Steaks are DELICIOUS but hands down, their Beef Dip (aka French Dip) sandwich is the BEST! Staff is friendly & kind - highly recommend if you are in Auckland!

We were looking for a great place for dinner near our hotel and this place was fantastic! The place was packed but the wait was only 30 minutes so they moved quickly. And you can see the steaks in the fridge and grilling right as you enter. The meats were huge and very buttery and juicy. I had the lamb rump which was very flavorful. My husband had the Scotch steak which he enjoyed. New Zealand meat is very tasty. We topped up with garlic bread (very garlicy) and mint peas (also delicious).

We had the most amazing experience from the moment we set foot in the door, we were greeted by the Chef/ lovely owner at the grill in our own language and then the wider staff team. We felt like we were being welcomed into their home, the food was devine, we had the sirloin and t-bone, the steaks cooked to perfection. The experience of picking out our own steak in the kitchen was a experience in itself. Our sides were just as good especially the salad. Got there without a booking and we underestimated how busy it would be but we were so hyped up, we were happy to wait 20 minutes. The cooking itself is a show, so fascinating to see how the chef cooks everything and he can remember which is rare, which is medium etc. The portions are big! No miserable little piece of steak at all. At least 500gm guaranteed. The sides are just as delicious. Husband swears by the jacket potato, I am in love with the Café de Paris Butter! Kids can go there, but it's only worth it if they have a big appetite. You don't want to pay $26 for them to take one bite and shrug the old _"I'm full"_ #murder This is a place to save. Our regret is to not have visited this place before. It's lively, full of people, good music and the chef is a side show all along. Absolutely fantastic!

The staffs are friendly and the stakes were pretty good. You can ask them to have your pieces cut the way you like on requests.

This place is a hidden gem located in an alley. Whenever I travel to Auckland, I always have my 7pm dinner at Angus. The staff are wonderful and the steak selection is the best. Angus is more casual than other steakhouses in Auckland, which makes it even more appealing. My favourite menu is eye fillet steak with grilled onions, fries, salad and peppercorn sauce. With a Steinlager Pure, it is a real treat. Just don't sit at table 34, because that's my "reserved" seat :)

Tried the sirloin, the lamb rump and the sauteed mushrooms. Great price to portion and tasty. Likely to return, hence the 4*. Only reason i haven't left a 5* is i have no point of comparison, at time of writing i would consider this my go to steakhouse in Auckland.

Exceptionally loud. Full of drunk, obnoxious, misogynistic, white men. Waited 10 minutes to be seated, 30 minutes to order, then an hour for food. The meat was sub par. Sizzling stones were cold by the time they reached the table. Sides were basic and I’d make better at home. Servers all looked like they wanted to quit. Overall a horrible experience compared to the old days.

Just finished THE most succulent, flavoursome and delicious eye fillet I’ve had in about 8 years! I search out steaks all around Australia and the world but on my 1st visit to AKL in ages tried here. Just magnificent Make sure you plan your arrival time. Thought it was going to be quiet but ended up bustling by the time I left. Check google for “busy times”

1st time here, went for the 800g rump steak and got defeated. Great customer service, awesome cooked steak. A tad pricey but worth the full belly. Carparking advice only Wilson carparking.

Loved their steaks. The four of us ordered 4 different steaks and all four of us were very satisfied and happy how they were cooked. Very yummy, recommended

While I get well done steak is a challenge for some chefs in a hurry in my case it was served still definitively medium rare, and had to be sent back for a second round of cooking, which did make it end up a bit tougher. Flavour was passable, but a bit strong on both the pepper and garlic fronts for my palate. Salad was great however and kumara chips gotten as a side where quite tasty, but due to how busy the place was we ended up spending approx 90 minutes here. Steak size itself is on the larger end, so probably a good meal all told if you eat regular medium-rare steak. Price for steak, kumara chips and a beer is around $72.

The 800gm t-bone steak cook to perfection with salad and creamed mushrooms. I didn't booked only waited a short time but understaffed and that reflected in the service. I won't expand because once they seemed to get into a flow I was looked after and accepted the service flaw apology. Would I go back, yes, go if you are a true carnivore. 👍

If you are looking for a big steak, this is the place to go. Our experience was ok but it wasn't memorable. The steak was well cooked and the servers did as good as they could. I recommend you not to be seated by the rear window where drunk people wait for their burgers from The White Lady, it may be entertaining, but not ideal for a romantic dinner out.

Food was great thought you might need to ask them to season before hand or maybe they just leave it to the customer to season themselves. Wait staff was on point. She remembered my list of order (had a party of 7) that's how you know she's a pro! Props to her. Wouldn't recommend the red wine ju sauce, though. Definitely get the garlic butter! Otherwise, everything else was great!

This is a great place for anyone who love a steak in Auckland. The meat has a high quality, 100% from NZ and you are able to see how fresh each piece are before the chef cooks. The steaks are a great call, each come with fresh salad side. The sides options are very good and interesting. For this first trial, we choose the McCain 10 mm Surecrisp and the creamy mushroom. Both options were great, the chips were crispy after 20 minutes in our table. For the dessert, we choose the mudcake chocolate. Is a rich dessert after eating an amazing meal. The prices are fair since each steak has around more than 500 g. In summary, this is a place that we pretend to go back many times to enjoy the experience of eating a great streak.

We had the eye filet and scotch steak with creamy mushroom. Both steaks were delicious and tender and juicy and huge portions. You need to order sauce as extra as steaks only came with salad.

Nice aesthetic, well lit venue. There's a waiting area for those that didn't book in advance. Pretty nice thick chunks of steak of all kinds at a pretty high price point of $48 as of November 2023.

Amazing meat. If you are a meat lover that is the perfect place. Be aware...the meat portion is huge :D would recommend if you are looking for good meat and chill-relax atmosphere.
