We had an amazing time at the Birdcage Tavern where we held our daughters 21st. Phil was the most attentive host and kept us informed throughout the night regarding the bar tab, food, cake etc. It was so easy for us to organize and on the night the staff were awesome. Highly recommend booking your private functions here. The carpark is also a huge bonus, one you won't find anywhere else in Auckland Central! What a fantastic night, I am so grateful to the team at the Birdcage! The food was great, the service was phenomenal everyone had a fantastic night. The whole process from going to view the space to booking in my event was so smooth and the communication around the event was top notch. Great value for money for the food, my guests were raving about the quality. Being able to have our own playlist playing and the bonus of the video screens for a few funny photos was a real bonus and helped personalise the space for our night. It was above and beyond my expectations, thank you so much. Will definitely be recommending to others.

After doing two 21st birthdays myself we decided to book a venue for the last 21st - Phil and his team at the Birdcage made the whole process so easy. The venue is excellent and the food and the service was great. We put up a few of our own personal decorations but it is already well decorated. We had so many lovely comments from our guests about the venue and the night that we easily give the Birdcage and its Team a 10/10

I was lucky enough to secure The Birdcage Tavern as the venue for my birthday party on 18 December 2021. I would wholeheartedly recommend booking your function here! The process was made super easy by quick and efficient communication from Phil. The venue has a great feel and vibe to it, it's in a beautiful historic building! The restaurant area is spacious and already had decorations up that worked well with my theme of pink and yellow. It boasts fantastic indoor and outdoor spaces, perfect for large events! Their staff were super helpful, incredibly friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The food was delicious and received rave reviews from my guests!! The sound system was great and the ability to play my own Spotify playlists meant I could tailor the evening's music exactly how I wanted it to go. Oh, and can highly recommend their cocktails!! If you are thinking about booking this place, do it now so you don't miss out!! 5 Stars!!!

Wow what an amazing 40th my twin and I had at the Bird Cage. This is my local and Phil and his team are always amazing with their customer service and just general awesomeness but the night exceeded our expectations. The food was delish, drinks were flowing, great atmosphere and vibe and amazing staff. Slick operation from booking, food platters and drinks menu to pick from, doing our own music on Spotify etc nothing was too much trouble. Our guests had the best night and all commented on what a mint venue the Bird Cage is and how fabulous the staff were. Thanks heaps team for making it such a memorable party. On Saturday we celebrated my son’s 21st at The Birdcage. What a night! Everything was perfect and Phil and his fantastic team made sure we could all just enjoy our night with no effort on our part. It was just ok. Felt like we were being rushed to order, we were asked if we wanted our desserts the second we finished our main meals, the drink I ordered (Swallow martini $19) was delicious but the quantity of drink for the price was ridiculous. Asked for my steak medium rare, got served rare steak, luckily my partner was happy to finish it. Quality of the food did not match the prices. We had a voucher which is the main reason we came here but we most likely won't be back.

We recently held our daughter's 21st at The Birdcage. We absolutely could not be more happy with our experience or with our choice of venue. Phil from the beginning was approachable and helpful, especially with his extensive experience of running these events. He was not overbearing or pushy in any way and we were able to choose from lots of great options, how we wanted our event to run. In the set up we were supported and helped, nothing was a problem and the venue looked fabulous on the night. During the event the staff were fabulous, the food was great and Phil was supportive and friendly. Helping with a few broken glasses, spilled drinks and gently ushering people away at closing time. Thanks so much for making what could have been stressful, a relaxing and enjoyable event!

All we basically wanted was a place that was close to Auckland City and accessible with food options the ability to work with the Manager, definitely minimal work and effort. We got a great Manager in Phil he helped with my Nephews 21stand provided a natural flow including great communication before during and after. He gave positive feedback on our audience too. The food was superb in reality the amount of options supplied meant we needed time to decide also having the options on subsidised drinks made the tab last. We couldnt flaw the set up either, everything looked great and all our kids, adults and older whanau loved the venue, it was definitely a full family event which was just perfect especially having the whole area available to us. A huge Thank you goes to Phil and the team, your crew were spectacular. If you are looking to book a great bar with a wide range of family members call Phil he with help you beyond what you want.

Their daily specials are of great value, especially Thursday (burger) and Friday (fish n chips) specials, $24 + a beer/wine. I love how they have a panfried option for the fish and chips as well. There are tables to accommodate for large groups as well, both inside and outside are a vibe. Service is welcoming and attentive, the place feels well organized!

We had our daughters 21st at the Bitdcage last weekend. Was a huge success, great venue, platter food was awesome, subsidised bar and the guests thought it was the best 21st ever. Phil and his team were fabulous to work with, nothing was a problem, happy for us to decorate the Birdcage on Sat afternoon and the staff were very accommodating. Awesome venue! But pizza was expensive and only average. The grumpy waiter also took my drink away with dishes when it was still a quarter full.

The restaurant was perfect for our social gathering! The staff were very attentive, had everything planned out for our large group, and the food came out super quickly. I"ll make sure to book with them again when we have large groups to accommodate for.

Incredible. Hosted my 21st here in March and everything was so smooth. I enquired about hiring the venue and got a response the same day and was booked in immediately. The event ran so smoothly on the night, the staff were super lovely and helpful and Phil was amazing to deal with! The venue was decorated so beautifully, can't recommend enough!

I can't recommend this venue enough. Phil was so detailed and made the booking process so seamless and the planning & communication just spectacular. The venue already has some really lovely decorating, that meant I didn't have to go overboard on adding things myself, with just a few balloons added to for the specific occasion plus the existing decorations, it's just lovely! Staff - so attentive and friendly!! Best I've every experienced! Food - the platters I got were amazing! Everyone loved everything, so much so not one item was left over. All was devoured and so many compliments from everyone on the food. I would happily have another party here.

I had my 30th birthday party at the Birdcage on Friday. The venue is fantastic for a birthday party, with a large bookable space. The whole night was super smooth and easy. Staff were very helpful. Doing music, photos, videos, and speeches were really easy. Food and beer were excellent. They even supplied candles for the cake. Definitely recommend.

My sister and I had our joint 40th at The Bird Cage last Saturday night. We had circa 100 guests and booked the whole venue. Was an awesome party - great location, parking for sober drivers, friendly helpful staff, great food, drinks were flowing and we just an AMAZING night. It was a costume party and even the staff were in costumes! Decorative backdrops already at the venue which were great for photos. Our guests also had a blast. Would recommend, A+ from us!!!

Took hubby there for birthday lunch with the family and a couple of dogs.... Also attended a works xmas function there last December. Both times food was very tasty and enjoyable, promptly served by efficient, friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Booking process super easy too. Would definitely recommend!

Great venue for hosting your next event. Phil the manager is very lovely to deal with and super accommodating. They also have a large amount of decorations they set up for you free of charge. Food was delicious and a huge range of drinks to choose from.
