It's a very wide and open park. We'll maintain. Walking track, playground, BBQ facilities, toilets, tables and chairs all available.

The bush walk is nice, not too busy but have some joggers on it. Very friendly neighbour hood and a couple good scenic views along the way. Best enjoyed in the rain

A really nice park. The soccer fields are quite good, being nice and level. They have a path that goes around the park so a nice place to walk around. They also have a playground at one end.

Excellent local facility. Saturday morning it was buzzing with children and their families, participating in sport. Parking is an issue so try to find street parking nearby.

Shepherds Park is on the Northshore region of Auckland in Beach Haven and is named after the Shepherd family who farmed there for several generations. This large park consists of a native bush, bike riding tracks and sports facilities such as tennis courts. It provides multiple recreation facilities including tramping, walking, fitness equipment, learn to ride bike trail, sports fields and facilities for football, futsal, squash and tennis. The park is home to the Birkenhead United AFC, Beach Haven Bowling Club, Beach Haven Tennis Club and Shepherds Park Squash Club. There are occasional campaigns in the bush where locals come together for native re-generation, planting and cleaning programmes on a voluntary basis. There are also structured environmental programmes for kids and adults which take place frequently at the park. A large playground, toilets, a barbecue, picnic tables and seats, and a great network of paths are inside the park. Follow Shepherds Park Path for a short run under 30 mins or bike ride around the park. There's a short 'learn to ride' path that loops around the playground. It's ideal for kids developing their confidence on bikes or scooters.

Great park for playing sports, walking dogs, kids to playground. Like how the walking path is lit up at night too. Would just prefer some more lights especially around the road an maybe the path leading down from sports club down to road, there are no lights. Dangerous at night

A nice place to walk around, particularly the bush walks out the back of the reserve. Good playground and sports centre as well.

Before driving into the car park my shitzu dog sniffs the air immediately with excitement knew where's he at & cries for joy. My dog really enjoys doing 2 laps around the field and gets very buggered when he gets home zzz zzz. The most I like is there are seatings around field. When there's soccer games, was it 3 fields I watched played at the same time.. oh it was colorful on the field... much better than watching sky sport. Fitness gym exercise equipment around the field, that's what you get for free 365 days a year. This park also has playground for children too. There is public toilet. Also, an outside tap and a bowl of water for all dogs, I love that. Also little community house for function. Daily random tin food and bread and meal package and some books on shelf outside the community house just small stuff for those who are in need and struggling and this so great to swap too, a great gesture for the community. Definitely recommend.

Love the shade over the playground! Great place for kids to burn some energies. The bicycle tools provided are very rusty and not reliable though so this should be looked into.

Very tidy, but the bins were full to overflowing. Needs more parking for football season, it's traumatic, most likely for the local residents as well.

Played darts on Thursday at Birkenhead United club house. Had a great night and I recommend this dart club for any player who wants a great night.

Beautiful playing surfaces, walkways and playgrounds. A real safe public space, great for humans and walking your dog.

I took my 3 grandchildren to the park to use up some excess energy. It is close enough to walk there and back. The equipment has been updated and the shade sail eas great to keep the full sun off the children. There were groups of people there, some having a picnic and others keeping an eye on playing children. I would highly recommend this park.

Plenty of room for outdoor activities, a nice bush pathway, a good playground, bbq, tables, clean toilets... you only need good weather to come and enjoy a picnic.

Great playground for all ages under colourful shade sails. 2 picnic tables, water fountain and a bbq are handy. Shady areas available under large trees and close to large fields for ball play or even kites. Only issue is the public toilets are on the other side of the fields. Also has great little bike path around the playground to help get the kids confident on their wheels.
