Recently signed up at Jai Thai after not doing Muay Thai for a couple of years. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Price is good for the amount of classes offered and the location is fantastic. Classes are fun / beginner friendly and the instructors are hands on and helpful. Have been to a few kick boxing / MT gyms around Auckland recently trying to find a good fit to work on fundamentals and found the class sizes at JT preferable as the instructor to student ratio is quite favourable. The gym size is good and everything is cleaned frequently. Recommend the free trial for anyone unsure as it was more like an hour long PT session than an introduction. Can't comment on the sparring or higher level classes, but this a really solid gym!

I didnt like it i went to a beginner class was matched with this giant guy 4x the size of me, learnt nothing new and trainers paid no attention or motivated me, think its more tailored around people who already know what to do

Jai was the first gym that I tried Muay Thai at, and till now, I haven’t really found a reason to change gyms. The training facilities are great, the classes are interesting, and the community at Jai is really welcoming! I have had friends that tried other gyms around Auckland but all of them came back to Jai for various reasons, that there weren’t enough time slots available, weren’t enough members of a similar skill level, or weren’t enough variety in the classes. If you’re looking for the best gym to try out some Muay Thai or to train with a community that will likely match your skill level, Jai is the gym to go to!

Jai Thai was recommended to me by a friend when I was visiting from Australia earlier this year. I got in touch with them for private sessions and they accommodated my needs with no fuss! The gym is easy to get to and has a welcoming vibe to it. The trainers are great and professional - got straight into our session, you really got value for every minute you paid for and I learned a lot. The owner also checked in with me after my first session to see how it went which was a very nice unexpected surprise. When I had to come back to Australia they happily refunded me the balance of my sessions. I highly recommend this place for any skill level (I am a beginner however saw some professional fighters also training there) and will definitely be coming back when I’m in New Zealand again.

Jai has been amazing for this total martial arts newbie! I had always been too unsure of myself to walk into a martial arts gym of any kind - what if they're all psychos and want to kick me in the head? Hahaha! After going along to their free into class I made a great discovery - the instructors are the nicest people (except when they're pushing you to do a drill with 100 kicks, that's just evil ;) Jokes aside, couldn't recommend the team here more highly, even if you're just looking for a fitness class that's actually useful (I'm looking at you, boxfit classes at places that rhyme with Mez Thrills :P )

Jai Thai Boxing is a great place to get fit. The instructors are really good, the facilities are close to the city centre, are well maintained clean and designed well for the building. There are plenty of classes for beginners, those wanting to learn more advanced moves and for those wanting to spar with one another. You generally get matched up with a suitable partner and all levels are catered for. The app to make bookings is easy to use and is very handy for checking what classes are available. I enjoyed meeting fellow members, instructors and staff and the obvious benefits of getting fit and how good you start feeling.

Trained at Auckland gym for around 6 months. In 6 months the owner never had the courage the tell me “good morning “. The gym are big, 2 big rooms with good number of punching bags. I got 7 years boxing experience and the training was repetitive and didn’t show any evolution. Some of the teachers used to use some movements for warming up that we use in Jiu Jitsu (completely useless for boxing). Left the gym cause I think they dons really train hard.

A great gym with an awesome feel! Been coming here for over 4 years. Beginner friendly so you can learn in a fun way without pressure, and you can progress right up to technical lessons, some with clinching and sparring which get quite detailed. Theyre a passionate bunch, you'll have a great time no matter your skill level. The environment fosters teamwork and youll even pick some buddies up along the way. Also to note a martial art like this is a great life skill to have. Trainers are the best and very knowledgeable! Keen to pass on knowledge and have a good time doing so. Good range of classes and it's quite affordable. There is some kit there for everyone to use, but good to get your own once youre settled, they sell quality stuff from Thailand at a good price, my gloves and wraps are still going strong. If you're like me and a regular gym just doesn't cut it, look no further! 🥊🥊

This gym has a real family vibe and has been a place where I have met many awesome friends. But more importantly I now have a good understanding of how to defend myself properly. I’ve done other martial arts in the past and nothing compares. I am excited to see what more Jai training brings to me.

So many good things to say... Jai is a fun, friendly and safe training environment that is perfect for beginners or the less 'athletically talented'. However the competitive aspect is also there for those who are seeking that. I have made several lifelong friends from Jai. They have always had a few carefully selected trainers brought over from Thailand for the specialised skillset they bring, and they are supported by experienced local trainers. I also know for a fact the owner is awesome.

an awesome gym! the staff are competent and welcoming, and it's a great place for anyone, regardless of where they are in their fitness journey - suitable for beginners, intermediate, advanced, and fighters. they have a wide variety of classes, including classes for kids, women-only, boxfit, and sparring. i recommend jai to all my friends who are interested in trying out a martial art, especially because there's a free trial - perfect for those who are unsure whether to take the plunge.

Great place to train. Love and supportive community. This is my third month training and I'm loving it. Not only learning the basics and training, but also learning to take hits, hold pads, which develops a sense of mutual respect for your partner. Highly recommend!

Been coming to this gym for over a year now and I love it! Awesome community and great trainers that encourage and push you to do the best you can. Great for beginners and as you graduate to higher levels there's a variety of classes to do so you never do the same thing twice. Highly recommend!

Jai is the best Muay Thai gym in Wellington. Spacious, well maintained and most importantly, very experienced trainers, which all thoroughly explain the drills and check you are performing them correctly. I have lost 7kg in 6 months, and love coming to Jai.

The first trainer we had was very nice and encouraging but I thought the female trainer there was just derisive. As a complete beginner she was very rude and demoralising when I didn’t get things right, and seemed more interested in criticising than teaching. Not an encouraging environment and definitely won’t be coming back.

Started my Muay Thai journey with Jai back in February this year and can honestly say, I've loved every minute of it! I was nervous to begin at first as I have never done anything like this before but everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Big shout out to Su-Lin, Tee and Falan for being the absolute best and creating an awesome atmosphere to train in, pushing and encouraging everyone, all while having a laugh along the way. Highly recommend Jai Thai boxing gym to anyone and everyone thinking about starting Muay Thai, whether it's to learn the skill or just for fitness. Your guaranteed to come out dripping in sweat, with a big smile and a bunch of new friends! 10/10

😐 Overall, it is a good gym, but they always give the customers a "we want you to leave now" vibe, even before the gym floor closes. During summer time, the staff usually come up to the woman's section and close most of the windows 15 mins prior to the closing time, and it got absolutely hot I just ha...
