Flex Fitness Newmarket

Gym Fitness center

😠 Has gone massively downhill since new ownership which is a huge let down! Some new equipment which is good & new vending machine but other than that current issues: 1. Squat rack is round the wrong way ie: not facing the mirrors 2. The toilets/showers are not as clean 3. Lack of hand towels & wipes... People often mention equipment, friendly, staff, clean, members, fitness, parking, machine, great,

Has gone massively downhill since new ownership which is a huge let down! Some new equipment which is good & new vending machine but other than that current issues: 1. Squat rack is round the wrong way ie: not facing the mirrors 2. The toilets/showers are not as clean 3. Lack of hand towels & wipes to wipe down equipment 4. It’s a mess - equipment is never put away & the general gym is not as tidy 5. It has turned into an ‘influencer’ gym, new members constantly videoing themself making content, there used to be a rule around this??? Ie: videoing is fine if not including other members & making them feel uncomfortable - especially when they are making grunting - off putting noise for the camera when they are actually lifting less than most of the women in the gym… 6. Using cardio areas to practice posing during the busiest time in the gym ie: between 4pm & 8pm - not really fair on members trying to train - taking up space that we would like to use. Maybe build a shut off area away from the gym for this. The gym is for members to train not for selfies & instagram content 7. The gym is now far too busy you can’t get onto equipment & enjoy your workout like you used to be able to 8. Need bigger dumbbells & more weights for barbells 9. Equipment is FAR too close together ie: the pec/fly machine is too close to the leg curl you end up bumping into each other 10. As the gym is now too busy, there is not enough benches for bench press. Pretty disappointing after being a member for so long that it has changed so dramatically. Should be a much cheaper membership now that it’s so busy, it’s on par with city fitness in regards to busyness & mess!

This little gem is amazing, Luke who is the sales consultant is so lovely to deal with easy going and a pretty cool dude. Really like his approach to his role and his attitude sealed the deal and joined them. Craig the owner is friendly approachable and easy to chat to as well and makes you feel welcomed to the club. Would recommend stopping by and having a look.

My absolute favorite gym. It's clean, well equipped and attracts some fantastic members! Also there's parking around the back which helps out quite a bit. There's a little something for everyone here, there's great functional strength equipment as well as cardio, and a good amount of free weights gear. Truly the diamond in the rough gyms of Newmarket.

The most premium gym I’ve been to thus far. Gym floor is always immaculate and has every equipment I’ll ever need. Craig is a top dog and the rest of the staff and members included are super friendly and respectful

After spending 3 years at my previous gym I simply felt like a change. I have to say I’ve only been there for 3-4 weeks but absolutely loving it. Super friendly staff, parking is easy and everything you need in a gym. There is only ever about 10-12 people there after work and some times it’s feels like you have your own personal gym. The gym is kept immaculate and you’d struggle to find a single fault. The owner is super friendly and helpful and so glad I went from the big facility of Next Gen to a small boutique gym. Super cool atmosphere with a super friendly ego free clientele. Stoked 🙏

excellent gym and great customer service. In Auckland for a funeral, needed to keep training for the week. Craig set me up with a great weekly rate. the gym and changing rooms/showers are always spotless. Kettlebells, good squat/DL area, dumbbells/barbells and all the machines. Plenty of parking as well.

Awesome gym. Even though it's more busy during the peak hours of 5-7, there's still enough equipment so you won't need to wait around. Bathrooms are always clean and the staff is always very friendly. I wish they had more machines like hip abductors but i haven't found this machine in any of the flex fitness locations. There is always free parking too. Highly recommended!

I just started at this gym and love the place. It's clean as a whistle. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The equipment seems to be all new and pristine. The gym is not as big or comprehensive as NextGen but it has everything a serious fitness freak wants. Lots of barbells, dumbbells and plenty of the machines you actually use. I've never had to wait for a piece of equipment like I did at NextGen. And the clientele seems to be very high quality. My personal trainer convinced me to start working out here after spending 18 months with him at NextGen. I'm very satisfied with the move. If you're serious about fitness, this is the place. Oh and there's always plenty of inside parking.

This is a great gym with good quality equipment. They've brought in some new equipment (abduction machine, hack squat, lying leg curl) and a vending machine. However, it has recently started to become a bit cramped. - The new layout means it's really difficult to move around and use certain machines. - Machines have been put in the functional space (which is already quite small) which means only 3-4 people can fit in the space comfortably. - There is not enough parking during peak times which means we need to park in spaces that belong to other companies and risk getting towed. - The gym is at the perfect capacity during peak where you don't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a machine but it could become crowded if more people join. - There used to be 3 sets of the smaller dumbbells (1kg-10kg) and now there is only 1 set of each. A lot of people use them so sometimes you will have to wait for a set to be free. - The gym is starting to seem a bit overpriced ($26/week) since Fitness Portal is cheaper ($22.50/week) and has more equipment, more facilities, and more space.
