CityMed

Medical clinic

🫤 I have been a patient here for ten years. The service has generally been good enough (3 to 4 stars), but has noticeably deteriorated recently. Phones, voicemail and emails are not answered; script renewals require chasing up. My message to the owners and management of this clinic is simple: wake up... People often mention appointment, service, doctor, reception, medical, good, phone, years, receptionist, nice,

It is imposible to get hold of the reception over the phone. I tried about 7 or 8 times in the last two days. In the end I walked in imediately after trying to call and there's three of them and no patients, still not picking up the phone. That's a very bizare system they've got. It has to be deliberate and it is also a health hazard. I am trying to get a Covid test done as a close contact to a positive case and want to avoid walking into the medical centre. Please start picking up phone calls to reduce the spread of the virus!

I had an appointment for 12:45, it's been 2 hours waiting... and I am still waiting.. After paying 130 dollars for just a check up, I expect the doctor to visit me on time. This is ridiculous. I don't think they even care about these reviews, but it's better you guys read them and chose somewhere else for your own sake.

Spent an hour and a half in the waiting room. When I went to speak to receptionist about possibly rescheduling my appointment was greeted with a rather rude older woman who basically yelled at me to get back to my seat, waited another 20mins until the doctor came out and asked us all to leave as he was to busy entertaining a Medical student who I hope was taking notes on how not to run a clinic. AVOID THIS PLACE SERIOUSLY

Poor receptionist service. They don’t also want to see you if you have a simple sickness. Bunch of scared people, who are only looking to get money and stay far away from patients. No place to make a complaint and no one to listen to you. No weekend hours. Probably only suitable for immigration medical check. NOT RECOMMENDED

First point- THE PRICE. $82 for an enrolled patient is CRAZY. Around $20 at most other doctors. Secondly, reception staff are impossibly unhelpful, can't book appointments, and don't answer phones. Doctors here are great, but incredibly unfortunate that they're being let down by front of house and their prices. Many other good GPs in the Central city who don't rob enrolled patients blind.

I had an appointment this morning for my 8 months old daughter, she’s had a runny nose for about 4 days, ever since she started teething she’s been having this symptoms whenever a tooth comes up, . Upon arriving after filling the forms the receptionist asked if we had any cold or flu symptoms, and I was honest and said that my daughter’s been having the runny nose and cough, but no covid, we’ve been daily testing because of daycare since she has contact with more kids and still has these cold/flu like symptoms we just want to be sure, and the last test was done that morning. After that he took us to a room where we were supposed to wait, 5 minutes in and a really nice and sympathetic nurse came and said that the doctor did not want to receive us, but he tried to help so he asked about what did my daughter had, I told him and as any normal person he just replied “oh that’s normal”, and we showed him the test we did that morning, so he went back to the doctor to tell her about it, and a minute later came with the same answer, she doesn’t want to receive us, but I think one of the worst things were the wording chosen for the moment “she wants to remove the baby”, me and my wife were thinking like what? So I asked if I could just let the doctor know about the teste and that we’re happy doing another one, but the doctor said no she did not want any os us anywhere near her, so I went to talk to one of the receptionists to maybe try to get another doctor to receive us as I can understand how one can be worried or even kinda paranoid about covid, but she was as rude as she could be, did not want to listen to anything, we said that we could do another rat test or any other right there, would only take 15 minutes, the answer was still the same and with the same rude and unprofessional manner. Anyways, we left there, called Doctors109 on Queen St, explained the situation and even though the clinic is not as fancy or nice as CityMed, everyone from the receptionist to the doctors were very sympathetic and reasonable, much for professional way of conducting business, would strong recommend going there instead of CityMed. And just to wrap it up, if the doctor came to us and like 10 feet away told us her reasons and said that even with the rat tests, she couldn’t do it because of a protocol or something like that, I could totally understand, but the way they decided to act was just disrespectful and inappropriate, the nurse was very nice and tried to help, but the others were the opposite, especially the receptionist she was so condescending and rude that I believe fuelled me to give this little contribution in Google reviews and hopefully will help other parents thinking on taking their kids there to understand the kind of treatment they’ll have.

My husband ringed them for an appointment for me as I couldn’t use phone during my working hours, the lady from the reception who answered the call was really rude, the customer service from the front desk we expecting is not this , really disappointed. She might need some training how to be nicer with people.

Went there for a hernia operation, found the reception was knowledgeable and efficient even when busy. The surgeon was professional yet friendly, operation done as arranged with no problems. Healing beautifully. No problem with awarding 5 stars.

The old reception lady was not nice. I think because Im Asian. I asked her kindly about something but straight away said no. Her tone and how she said it was not nice and it put me off alot. She doesnt even sound friendly and welcoming, so I’m pretty sure she wasnt happy nor smiling when attending to me. It wasnt a good experience. The other receptionist guy was nice and accommodating. I believe Receptionists should always sound lively and friendly. they are the face of the company to welcome people. So just letting City Med know that you do have not so good reception staff. Especially the old lady with the white short hair. Didnt get her name though

Dr Gerald Young preformed my husbands Vasectomy reversal in July 2021. He was incredibly knowledgeable with great bed side manner. He had us both feeling relaxed going into the procedure. We flew up from Christchurch for it as it was alot more affordable even with accommodation and flights. My husband liked Gerald so much as a doctor he said if we had the money he would just fly to Auckland whenever he needed to see a doctor as it would be worth it to have a doctor he felt comfortable with. Gerald said all going well we would be pregnant in about a year. I am turning 14 weeks pregnant tomorrow 9th December 2022. My husbands Vasectomy was 9 years 6 months old so we were fully prepared for it not to work. Yet here we are and our 11 year old daughter could not be more excited that it worked. Thank you Dr Young and the City Med team for making this experience simple and low stress for us.

I was so grateful to be able to get an urgent appointment last October in the middle of the covid lockdown drama (my previous doctor could only see me at the end of the week and I was feeling really sick). I had incredibly professional and caring service from Dr Lidia Novak and she was awesome in getting me admitted to hospital a few days later when things kept going downhill. I know the last few years have been hard on everyone in the medical world which might explain the reception issues over the last few months but I have really great service and care every visit since....Great to have a pharmacy & physio in same building. Parking is scarce in the city but there is a good central park about 5 minutes walk... Overall very happy. Thanks Lidia.

Let's add another , 1 star review, to the list ( I should have checked it before deciding to book an appointment with city med) Where to start? Well. The phone seems not to a priority at City Med. If you are lucky you will.waste 30minutes of your life before somebody can answer. But when u finally managed to get an appointment, that's when the real fun start! 2 different times were sent: email said 12.15pm Phone messages says 10.15am ( it's ok can happen) Arrived there, went to the lady at the reception and kindly said: Hello, I am here for an xray appointment. She didn't move her eyes from the computer, not a good.morning or a smile *( the fuel pump at z station is 100% way more friendly)her limited answer was: bottom right. Pointing at a corridor with 10 doors ( all on the right side) Since I've understood the total disinterested about what she was doing, I've decided to walk and " try my luck without asking again for direction ( this is probably my bad) After walking for roughly 5 minutes around the massive building and without finding the specific office? Doctor? Chair? ( I have no idea because she did not say) was looking for, I've decided to come back and ask again. She didn't even remember me( 6 minutes passed) clearly because she didn't even recorded my face for a milliseconds when our previous conversation took place. Explain the situation again and the problem seems to be that I didn't mention it was an "immigration "appointment" which is different from a normal one apparently. So her now magical full of direction informations were: walk till the end of the corridor then right, then left...( amazing step by step we will reach the full information ). But still, not mention of what I was supposed to look for. ( it could have been another desk, a doctor, I still don't know) Finally arrived to the xray receptionist which was extremely nice and told.me that she couldn't not find.my name and so I would have needed to go back at the main receptionist to ask about my case . At this point I was laughing inside about the total disorganization of this place. Went back to the main reception and again asking information to the lovely lady . She turned to be pretty rude making me feel like if it was me that I wasn't understanding , totally ignoring the fact that not everyone work in an "hospital" and if u work as a receptionist your main job is to assure to deliver clear informations to customer and you are supposed to start with a smile every conversation you have with them.engaging with them and LOOK at them when they are in front of you. You are not working in construction, building walls in concrete, you are dealing with people working in " customers service" That was the time when I decided to tell them how useless and lazy they are and decided to bring my money next door to E Medical Where within 30.min I've booked an appointment and did the test, with lots of professionalism from the whole stuff. Check.the review about city med. Don't waste your time and go somewhere else. .

Does anybody answer a phone? Does anyone ever call back? Looking at past recent reviews this seems to be an ongoing issue that is not improving. Why are we waiting days for the answer to a simple question? Paying $80 per visit I expect a hell of a lot better service.

I‘ve seen some negative comments about service from google, so I was worried before I actually came. However, my experience was awsome. Most staffs were nice and patient. Nurse Louis and Dr Donna impressed me. The staff working on X-ray was nice too. I will come back again.

Doctor Lidia + CityMed Pharmacy= 5 stars The Doctor is Real Professional Doctor with all exellent qualities. CityMed pharmacists Maree Barry and Tina all the time offer High level of the Customer Service. They have very good culture of communication with customers. They are just simply friendly and warm. Although the administrators are absolutely opposite. 1. For example, on the 26.05.2023 at 2.30pm 5 (!!!) administrators could not book my appointment. I asked them twice loudly. Nobody turned. What is the point to have 5 (!!!) administrators while they are not professional? 2. Judy never turns her head to the customers. I was observing her during last 4 years. Why my + taxpayers money should go to this sort of Customer Service? 3. She must be very good "Role model" if other even new administrators now behave like she. Good Luck!!!

Absolute rort. These guys have an absolute monopoly over the US medicals and charge a whopping $400 for just a few tests. Then, they charge ADDITIONAL costs for collection fees, samples, vaccinations and xrays. I was gobsmacked when the lady at the desk had charged me almost $1,000 altogether on an immigration medical which shouldn't have been more than $500. There's no justification for such steep prices, and I know firsthand that the costs for the medical examination in itself is unreasonable.

I was doing a medical check-up here and found an information error on the form that I wanted them to correct, but the staff passed the buck and blamed me for not being attentive enough and they didn't help. It was a bad experience.

Been a patient of Citymed for 27 years. The new online booking system is diabolical. Leaving a voice message has been removed. Useless.

Our Drs are nice, but administrative side is awful. You can book an appointment far in advance, and yet are forced to wait for ages. No apologies received, neither any notices in advance that the appointments are running late. Just a waste of time. Also it is very hard to get through the call. Nurses never pick up, receptionists are also not available.

Citymed website is very disappointing! Anytime when I try to book an appointment there is a problem. For instance, there are some available times but with some unclear errors we cannot book them or when I had booked an appointment then I waited online, no one showed up and when I called them they said probably this time has been booked by two persons!!! I was wondering why I did not receive any cancelation notification or message about it! and some other cases. This website really needs re-design!

Dr Lisa has been my GP for the last three years. She has always made me feel heard and always takes the time to ensure you get the best treatment possible. I see her on a regular and she is always happy to see you and make you feel that you can be honest about anything.

I have been with this practice over 30 years and the 'service' is non existant. New online service has lost my details and no one is returning phone messages or emails.

  • 1/5 pelepelc 1 year ago on Google
Reception, phone calls, communication is absolute ZERO. I am coming here for about 4years now, and the service have now fallen under any normal expectations. For a private practice with way over a 100$ 15min GP visit this is unacceptable. I have found out last visit I was paying full “enrolled” price since day one, as they did put my insurance in. So I asked for the statement since day one, and am still battling with insurance to pay me back, Soon as I am done with my current concern I am enrolling somewhere else. Only good experience I had was with my first GP I used Donna Marshall.

Clinic is good as long as you don’t need to call reception. They never pick up the phone.

  • 1/5 Felicity H. 10 months ago on Google
Be warned about the online booking system which often doesn't work. I recokmnend you dont use it but ather call the reception to book any appointment. If you dont call reception and choose to bok using the online system, you are highly likely to arrive at CityMed and they have no appointment for you. Highly annoying.

On holiday in Auckland I unfortunately face planted on the streets of Remuera! Next morning I presented at CityMed and the service I received from the moment I walked in was 10/10. From Liam at reception to Jessie the nurse and then Dr Morton I couldn't have received better care and attention. Thank you to you all.. I know what great service is... before I retired I was a medical receptionist for 28years and none of its easy! Thanks again I'm sorry I messed up your appointment book! 🤕🤕

Had to wait 45 minutes for my appointment that only lasted 6 minutes. The doctor was okay, but tended to jump to conclusions and tried to put me on steroids fairly quickly. They came into the room thinking I had an ear infection which was completely wrong. They charge an insane amount for their service.

I have been with this CityMed for over 30 years, yes the phones get very busy but I have to say that my Doctor Donna Marshall, Dr Gerald Young have always been there for me no matter what the issue is. This is a amazing practice from the receptionists, to the nurses to the doctors.

This clinics does my request very well! Asking them to do a pre-employment medical check up for applying a job in Indonesia, and they did all the necessary check and produce the documentations. No hassle, quick reply, all done neatly. Perfect!

I have found citymed to be very well equipped to carry out both Australian and NZ immigration medicals. The staff is patient and understanding, the instructions are clear and the all tasks are carried out in time.

I was apprehensive after reading all the reviews but my Australian medical checkup went very smoothly. Recommend calling as soon as they open at around 8:30 to get an appointment. The doctor as well as radiology staff explained everything in detail and were excellent.
