DONT BUY ONLINE! These guys are cowboys. Paid $10 for delivery, invoice said 1-2 days delivery. I realise there are delays at the moment so gave it a week, then emailed asking for an update on my order. No reply. A week later, I text asking for an update. No reply. Then I called, the guy on the phone didn’t know what I had ordered. Then when I explained my order was only plants I got every excuse under then sun. Was told everything was in stock and I would receive my or Mon or Tues the following week. NOTHING! I call again and I’m told the same thing, and still. NOTHING! Now I’m trying to get hold of them and they’re not picking up…. Ironically, in their confirmation email they say they will do anything they can to make sure I have a great experience with them. Will not be using them again.

Neptune is now my go to store for all my tank and plant needs. Super helpful team, they helped me diagnose an issue with a tank. Have a great selection of aqua scaping materials and plants. Particularly helpful for setting up a new tank is the hardscape dojo, a sandpit where you can play with different layouts and materials to work out what is right for your tank. The planted tanks in store with a good selection of fish also make it a great place to visit and get ideas.

This is THE aquascape shop in Auckland. Seiryu stones, dragon stone, petrified wood, beautiful driftwood, etc… all the hardscape that’s always sold out everywhere else is here. The options and pricing for aquatic plants are superior. Every accessory or water conditioner you might need. Amazing fish options and far more variety for nano tanks compared to competitors. The team is super helpful and knowledgeable. This is where you should go if you want to do aquascaping.

Be it a weekday, but I appreciate the fact that Max was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I went in with my little boy but that didn't stop us from having a good lengthy chat about aquascaping and the rigors of the fishkeeping hobby. I will definitely be back for some stuff and get some playtime on the sand table to arrange a scape!

My new go to fish store! Amazing customer service and were so helpful. If you are setting up a new tank definitely come here. Amazing range of plants, rocks and driftwood, as well as beautiful fish. 10/10 would recommend.

I'd choose zero stars if it were an option. This is by far the most shocking service I've received in my entire life. They ignored every email I've ever sent. After a week I called them and they said they had the items I ordered in front of them and would ship them 'tomorrow'. This conversation repeated every week for a month... A month later when we were in Auckland we called them to organise picking up our products, they said "come in at x time and pick them up' when we did they didn't have the items.... They sent a !customer! to deliver some of the items to us later that day... unpacked (after saying they would prepare them for us to take on the plane) I'm still waiting on a refund for the items they didn't deliver, they are ignoring all communication. Do not order things from their website.

Honestly, I'm never the one to write reviews but for this place.. I had to. I bought fish online with $10 shipping but never received them after texting and calling them for a week. I was left on seen when I tried to contact them via facebook. The guy picked up once and texted me photos of the fish and never replied again. I had to pick them up in person a week later which was a very long train ride to and from parnell. It was such a big hassle, however, the girl who worked there was much nicer and dealt with this issue very professionally. I'd recommend buying irl, avoid buying online at all costs as you'll probably never get a response or an update.

As others have said, don't shop online with these guys. The guy will tell you everything you want to hear, but they are all lies. You'll never get your order and eventually they stop answering your calls. Avoid at all costs.

Neptune Aquatic Studio is now my go to store for purchasing fish, plants, and tank supplies. I just recently purchased a new fish tank and Max was so nice & extremely helpful when selecting everything I need to get it all set up. Max took his time explaining everything in depth and answering all my questions which I really appreciate. Amazing customer service and quality products! Highly recommend!

Definitely a shop you need to go to in person. Amazing service and very knowledgeable. There's a gravel table to place pieces of your hardscape together to see how it'll all fit together. Thoughtful recommendations without being pushy. Highly recommend for you to go in person for that extra help. :)

I have visited a few times now, and can safely say this is easily the best aquarium shop in Auckland. Not only is the service amazing(!!), the varieties of plants & hardscape etc are far better than any other aquatic shop I have been to in NZ. It is obvious that Max runs Neptune to support and improve the NZ fishkeeping & aquascaping hobby rather than simply for a profit. 11/10 business
