I ordered a delivery 22/07/22 for my child's birthday. I had 4 items missing from that delivery which came to a total of $10. I rung countdown quay but the online team had finished for the day. Left my details to be contacted with the manager on duty. Have not heard back from them since.

Nice Countdown market open 24/7 so it’s perfect to go late at night and do your shopping... a little messy because the alleys are always with unopened boxes but it’s fine... they have good bakery and grocery section... prices are ok and they always have good deals especially on snacks and frozen items... staff is always kind and polite too...

Friendly & almost enthusiastic to help I rate the customer service 6 - 10, and presentation & hygiene 9 1/2 - 10. Thank you for being on your toes and not just standing there and talking to colleagues or friends; like what many a franchise do, do. Your CHK out are very polite and your reception front counter always willing to offer service & directions, flawlessly. Well done.

Big supermarket in the center of Auckland. They have literally everything from fruits, veggies, bakery, fresh meat, cosmetics and others. It was perfect for tourists like us, all the shopping we did there.

This is the 2nd time I’ve gotten home and found out that the product has expired (and no I don’t check every single thing I buy before I pay for it because I should be able to buy products that didn’t expire WEEKS ago). Lotatoes have started sprouting. Considering how much they’re making us pay for food we should be able to buy fresh vegetables.

Location is not ideal. Very scary as a lot of weird people patrolling down there, following customers and stealing. Need more security or covered/restricted access. I used to like going here to shop for my snacks for work however now I do not want to step foot in there because I’m scared.

Unbelievable...closed carpark enterance because of sat night event..got caught in event traffic to get in other enterance to then witness a man leaving with cart full of groceries including wine beer fancy cheese without paying..and very disinterested security and staff saying oh well we can't touch them. What about us who have to pay.

Amazing diversity engaging on a domestic scale. From the homeless in the car park to the backpackers scoring a feed to the lady alledgely shoplifting for the third time that day. And everyone in between. Just AMAZING. Good parking and pretty good access.

Other than running out of mangos the day I came into shop, they were wonderful. They have very nice meats and cheeses. I'm sure if I wasn't a tourist passing through with no cooking facilities and just a mini fridge, I would enjoy doing full grocery shopping there. Oh, and they have wonderful chocolate chip cookies!!

Got a shock at some of the prices for local produce. Small head of Broccoli $4.99 each? What the heck! Isn't it a winter vegetable? And will we ever see NZ Beef and Lamb available at a reasonable price locally?

This countdown is amazing it's my local and the staff are beyond helpful. As I am a regular they greet us whenever we go over and always friendly and polite. I always use my manners especially at the deli section and you just get a much smiler happier worker to deal with

Meats are usually in good condition. Clean, not too crowded with good selection of item including Whitestone cheese. I was looking for venison and I'm glad I found it here.

The absolute worst. The largest physical supermarket in the inner city is wasted with the most basic selection of a corner store. Quintessential NZ supermarket ripping off customers with exorbitant pricing and minimal variety. These supermarket chains influence how and what we eat as a nation, a responsibility to which they are doing a disservice. You only have to look towards what is considered standard fare used in recipes from overseas to understand how limited and uninspiring our supermarkets really are. Not once have I walked in without having to move the towering stack of baskets from the self checkouts back to the entrance so that myself and others have baskets to shop with. What are we paying these retailers for.

It’s a great store, pretty huge. They have great variety a huge selection. Most of the things are in stock. Produce was fresh, amazing options. Great meat options too, bread, snacks. Kitchen needs, household stuff, laundry, detergent. You name it and they have it. They have fresh mussel’s. Amazing different flowers and plants. There were some herb plants too. Found some really nice deals, they have most of the items that are on promotion. Staff is nice, super quick to assist.

One of the best grocery stores in Auckland, the location is massive and has a large wine and beer selection as well.

I tend to judge a place/person on their attention to detail. Fail today at Downtown Countdown. Aisle sign reads; ‘Jelly’s’. A puppy dies every time an apostrophe is abused.

Being a central site, being biggest shop in the city, there is so much room for improvement. Their staff is just unmotivated. The nightime manager is unprofessional. But most importantly they don't even have right opening times published, they never update it so you might be in for a shock when you come in and realize place is shut down. Absolute disappointment.

Just not a great place feels off, deals are trash. Security is a joke in all regards both customer safety and staff safety is lacking. Often feel sluggish after dealing with the staff for photo id always makes me feel drained. I have face tattoos so obviously over 20...

Very nice & very tidy supermarket. Everything was well laid out & there was plenty of signage. The staff were very helpful. Will definitely shop there again.

Good parking. Good deals. Sometimes you find teenagers having fun inside the carpark which makes families with shall children uncomfortable.

  • 1/5 Teniva W. 1 year ago on Google
They were out of roast ready made chicken. Prawns over priced. Hardly any mince in a portion you have to buy two can cost you $27. They don't stock Nordic blonde only streaking. They have cheap Maybelline mascara but high price. My lashes show nothing different. They don't sell toilet paper in packs of 4. The lift is not always available for wheelchair access or for elderly with walking sticks. Though the staff that got transferred to this store from Victoria Street remember me, they are friendly

Security women straight up accused me for shoplifting without any evidence to support her claims and tells me to leave store without asking for any id at least. Imagine if she said that to one the owners🤔 definitely fired!!

I have never had so much difficulty trying to buy a SodaStream refill. I was told that the old gas cylinder, which I had purchased at a Countdown, couldn’t be swapped. I phoned the Countdown store where I purchased the cylinder from, and they assured me that they should be able to swap it. I never heard back from Countdown Auckland City, so I took my business to New World, who swapped it without an issue.

Convenient but there is always some homeless person begging for change at the entrance. They need to get an eftpos machine cause nobody carries cash on them these days buddy.

Nice store. Only one cashier. Had to go through self service which i usually avoid. Lots of under cover parking

  • 4/5 Fabian F. 1 year ago on Google
Love this supermarket. You get good deals on beers. Make sure you carry your ID. Otherwise good quality groceries. You always need not wait in cash lanes. You have self checkout options too. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because most of the items are expensive then other supermarkets and they could just cut them down. With that being said fluctuations are crazy.

A couple of weeks ago a boy named Nicholas helped me with my gift card issue after the previous supervisor was clueless about what to do. He called the customer care number and talk to them on the phone for 45 minutes for me. He was super friendly while also helping other customer enquiries with a bubbly personality. The gift card problem was an unpleasant experience but Nicholas gave an excellent service while also helping me solve my situation.

i shop at this countdown a lot because it’s the one closest to me, it’s very clean and well stocked which i appreciate. the employees also are very helpful and this one younger employee who was working saturday night made my day, she was so kind and funny

  • 3/5 Daniel R. 1 year ago on Google
It is a Countdown, with multiple items and a decent arrangement. Well-signalized and good atmosphere for buying groceries. Nothing out of the box, just a normal modern supermarket in NZ.

  • 5/5 jess d. 1 year ago on Google
Best/most stocked/ largest countdown for anyone living in the cbd. Nice supermarket woth big isles. Massive shame the store hours have been cut down again. It also wasn't well advertised so loads of people were turning up at 11pm to find out it was shut on the 1st

  • 3/5 Vevo Z. 4 months ago on Google • 1 review
The store is fine, plenty of options but employees sometimes take forever to help out - 60% chance there's no one at the front counter. Not to mention there's always homeless people outside walking around the entrance and especially the online pickup lockers in the carpark, which I don't mind but some of them have been harrassing people for money and nothing is being done about it. Not a good experience in that regard, and surely they can do something. I don't really feel comfortable doing online pickups anymore because of this. At least it's close by.
