😠 I went to this place on Sat. I understand they are busy in the weekend. However you guys charged 5 dollars for a small coffee but make the worst coffee I have had. I even couldn’t drink. Coffee was very watery and no milk foam no coffee oil at all. It’s like a left over coffee shot and then pull in... People often mention coffee, good, cafe, service,

Coffee was very watery and no milk foam no coffee oil at all. It’s like a left over coffee shot and then pull in warm milk. I just chucked away my coffee when I walked out of museum. If you guys want to serve coffee, please find someone can make coffee.

You will most likely be welcome by the host who will show you to the right size table according to the number of the guests. I am then shortly presented with a menu. My choice for today were Chowder and Fish& Chips. Chowder tasted well balanced, with medium sized mussels and plenty of shrimps floating in the creamy sauce. Fish on the other hand smelled like a fish and tasted like a fish, you will make a decision of how you want it. Chips well done , not too crispy and not too salty which again makes even most demanding potato connoisseur smile. Garlic bread in my opinion would look and taste different when served on the side of the plate rather than inside of your chowder. Service - menus , hello’s etc all there . Checkup as we had our first bite into the food also appreciated. Order was repeated back to us which is a good practice. Maria was looking after us with a smile today Food arrived ALL AT THE SAME TIME. !!! Which given the location (NZ) is quite rare Atmosphere: not a specific feeling to the place as per neutral design (it’s a museum) generic music could. I would also want to thank …(name withheld).. another person working here today, for blocking the door showing her superiority and making me walk around everything just to grab a coffee that was sitting literally 2meters away. Anyway it wasn’t apparent to me Not to walk back where I came from.

Very decent cafe with a great selection of little bites for $5, and good coffee. Highly recommended if you're visiting the museum.

It’s not what you expect when you spent 6 bucks for your first morning coffee, is it? Unfortunately, the coffee we had was not good, and I have no clue why would they call themselves espresso bar. Single shot coffee start from 5 dollars…. But a bit too much for a long black… one dollar for extra shot… one dollar for some pouring cream…the coffee was over extracted, foam was separated. So a bit sad and disappointed. Would not recommend it. Sorry guys!!

$13 Sandwitch, Service took almost 30 minutes to toast this. I thought they forgot my order, I went back up to just confirm. Tastes disgusting, bread squashed into a cookie. Jam inside the sandwitch was horrible combination. Do not reccomend anyone to come here, slow service, overpriced, disgusting food.

Had a decaf iced latte and a chocolate slice (brownie). The brownie was a bit stale but the center was fresh. The coffee was good but I recommend stirring as it was a bit burnt towards the bottom but otherwise was quite tasty.

Very nice double shot cappuccino for a decent price. Not sure what the other reviews are going on about, I thought it was fine!

Staff were lovely and food and coffee was good. However $5.50 for a can of coke and $6.50 for a cupcake is just insane. How places like this think it’s acceptable to rob people blind is disgusting.

Beware of attempted double charging at 1929 cafe!! I visited the museum today we ate at Tuitui Museum cafe then hours later we decided to have another coffee which we purchased at 1929 cafe. I paid $16 via eftpos for a small Moccha & an afghan biscuit & proceeded to sit down. The asian lady who served me came rushing over to me announcing very loudly you have not paid come back and pay, come back and pay. I jumped onto internet banking & i could clearly see that my card was charged $16. I had to rejoin the queue & when i reached the checkout i promptly showed the same asian lady my phone showing i had paid. Rather than apologise to me she checked their machine & discovered that it was out of paper which is their problem not mine. I would have appreciated an apology instead of an accusation. I will never spend my $$$ at this cafe again. Go and brush up on your customer service skills

The coffee was great but the service needs to be improved. Seemed like no one wanted to be there on a public holiday. I understand the staff are under lot of pressure when it gets busy but just a smile would help to improve the whole experience.

Staff was polite but could be a bit more efficient especially on a busy weekend. Kids meal portion was tiny and expensive for the price.

Very expensive for very basic food, was given a kids platter which was stale and the display one took it back and the waitress lied and said this is fresh. The bread was like cardboard. Service also needs to be improved

Cold coffee & tastless food. A cheese scone should have cheese in the mix not just a sprinkle on top. Totally over priced as well. So dissapointed.

A $6 cinnamon donut... outrageous but I thought it has to be fresh and might offer a twist - the description did say vanilla. My hopes weren’t high, but in saying that at $6 I did expect fresh if literally nothing else. I think it was an old burger bun - I’d estimate a week old. Cut into a donut shape. Savoury, dry, well preserved, old bread. Yuk. And the service was painfully bored.

The food was barely average, definitely not worth the price. Don't recommend...

Food here is really nice with a reasonable price. It’s a good place to have a rest after the museum tour.
