Amazing place to eat if you want to try southern Indian cuisine. We tried a few different dishes and everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. It was very exciting trying new things and the staff were very helpful in helping us pick what to try. We enjoyed everything. The place is also very tidy and spacious and looks quite cool too. I only have one tiny feedback. The drinks would be more enjoyable if they were cold. The water was warm and so were our mango drinks, they were very tasty but would have been so much nicer cold. Other then that we enjoyed everything.

Where to start. Easily my favourite Indian in Auckland. Great food, amazing prices, close to the central city where I live. It's unassuming brilliance, talking through its great food. The owners have a clear passion for traditional Southern Indian food, and it shows. Completely and absolutely recommended.

The concept is similar to Satya Chai Lounge. Looks like the owner intended it to be a beer lounge with an assortment of tasty tapas and bigger plates if you’re up for it. What plan B lacks in service, it makes up with the food. Really tasty, well seasoned and properly spiced. Well stocked beer fridge too with a few craft options (mostly behemoth). Be aware though that front of house staff was all over the place, they weren’t rude or anything, just lost (?) and did the bare minimum. We saw at least 2 tables left uncleared during the entire 2 hours dining, a good 45 minutes of which was spent waiting for our food by the way. Also observed more than one lot of pre-ordered takeaway customers waiting for some considerable time before getting their food. Unsure how long this place will last if the service keeps up in this fashion.

Awesome craft beer lounge with fantastic Indian food. The place is great, it has well over 100 craft beers as well as wine and other beverages. Had a lovely evening. The bamboo cooked chicken was the highlight for me. I would recommend this place for craft beer lovers and fans of South Indian food.

The worst ever food. Food smells like cooked in old oil. They say garlic bread and serve a cheap frozen parotta. Don't ever try this place. They didn't even say that it would be a frozen one. When we asked for explanation, they said we give only this frozen.

I booked a table at Plan B through First Table, as the review was 4.4, I thought it should be an ok meal. I am writing this review to rectify this false rating. The restaurant is dingy, the service was terrible, the food was average. Each time we wanted service we had to go up to the front and ring a bell for them to come from the back. Then a the end of our below average meal, served in what seemed to be water trays from terracotta pots, a cockroach ran across the front desk when I went to pay. The man serving me swiped it away with his hand and said nothing other than oh no. I don’t usually write bad reviews for hospitality as I understand what it can do to a business but I don’t think 4.4 stars is a fair representation of the business and don’t want anyone else to make the mistake that we did of going to dine at Plan B.

The food's great and so are their cocktails. A good alternative to Sathya lounge. We did every starter on the menu and I must admit that some chicken dishes tasted extremely similar, probably because of a same-sauce-glazing issue. Nevertheless, good place and I'd visit again.

Heard a lot of great things about this place. And it didn’t disappoint. The deco is not that good but food was very yummy and staff are very friendly. Would definitely go again . Would recommend giving it a try

Dine-in, Delivery & takeaway available. I ordered Hyderabadi chicken dum biriyani and cocktail samosas for dinner. The Biriyani came with raita while the samosa came with a dark dip that went well with it. Taste was great! Good amount of chicken inside it though a bit too oily. Samosa was great too, packed with potatoes and peas and other vegetables which went well with the biriyani. Came well packaged. Good portion sizes, will fill you up. Price was reasonable considering portion size. Student budget friendly for some popular dishes!

Despite being hit by the extreme and unprecedented weather over the weekend and yesterday, Plan B Lounge and few other restaurants their owners are kindly offering free meals to the residents who have been affected by the floods. My kitchen and garage got flooded on Friday, so I was really grateful hearing about this from the neighbourhood page. I had a busy day at work I was exhausted at work by 8pm and with a leaky kitchen at home - I decided to go and try this place. As I walked in and asked them regarding to that the friendly lady and the guy by the counter asked me what meal options would I like for takeaways. I asked for vegetarian.. After waited for short periods of time the guy came out with a bag of warm meals. While I was waiting, I had a small chat with the lady by the counter. After she heard about my experiences over the weekend, she told me that they are doing it to supporting the locals whom been affected and also told me they will be having it again for tomorrow night as well. The vegetarian curry was well balanced flavour, the fried chips surprisingly tasted great - must because of the spices they had with it as well. I would like to extend my gratitude to you and the teams for making this initiative, thank you so much, and I'll definitely come back for the dining experience! The photo of the takeaway meals doesn't do their justice, as I was too hungry to plate my dinner.

I went to Plan B for a first table dinner. There was a basketball team in just before I got there which meant they seemed a bit overwhelmed. However, just to grab a seat took about 10min, then we ordered and it took just over an hour for our food to come out, I went up to the counter to remind them at a point thinking they may have forgotten. I was happy chatting away to the person I was having dinner with and server just seemed to be doing his best on a busy night. I got the wrong order, but wasn’t too mad, the food was pretty tasty and being first table it was well priced! It seems like they have good potential just need something to reinvigorate the space!

The food was fresh and tasty. Needs the floor and tables neat and tidy. The food was awesome. Reasonable prices and quantity.

Heard a lot of great things about this place. Not sure why there is so much love coz it felt like a cheap knockoff of Satya. Service & food was also very average. Good place for drinks, music could be better. Left feeling very disappointed but I will definitely try again.

I came here by a recommendation and I was not disappointed. Everything was great. Food flavour, portion sizes and price was fair. Also great customer service too. I will most definitely come back here whenever I need my indian food fix.

Finally, I got to find a place where I could enjoy the proper South Indian Dosa with number of Varieties served with my favourite Peanut Chutney and Allam(Ginger) chutney. I tried 3 varieties of dosas so far and they taste extremely good. I have tried planB chicken and egg Noodles too, they were Amazing…Pani-puri and Masala Thumbsup are must try….

No complaints about the food, prices were very good with first table. However service was very slow, we ordered four dishes with rice and the restaurant wasn't very busy but took over 90min for everything to arrive. Rice especially took quite long, almost 10-15min after we ordered a second bowl.

Great idea. Little "tapas" style dishes, all Indian style. Everything is quite spicy, so make sure you can handle some heat. I love the idea of xx different kinds of beers, mainly from NZ. However 1 can will workout for $12 (ouch). But then again, fun to try different flavours and support NZ local beer. The food was lovely, we tried char-grilled chicken, prawns, venison and masala fries. Very tasty! But despite the fact everything had different time, it felt like all the proteins were marinated at the same sauce. So nothing really surprise you.

I ordered the chicken biryani combo through UberEats. The chef added salt like there’s no tomorrow. Even the raita was unbearably salty. And I love to eat and cook Indian food and my partner is Indian… Last time he got a prawn curry and it was good. That’s why I thought I’d give it another try. Unfortunately I was deeply disappointed. You were really too heavy-handed with the salt, chef.

Had my husband's 50th birthday party. Everyone who came in enjoyed yummy food, excellent service and good atmosphere. Highly recommend PLAN B Restaurant!!!

Worst experience ever. Poor management. We have ordered kaju paneer masala, they just gave paneer masala with tomato paste . The receptionist took the gravy to check but gave the same bowl back saying the chef forgot to add kaju, didn't even bother to add some extra kaju , forget making a new one . We ordered the plan roti specifically mentioning no butter / oil , but they gave us butter roti again. Afte sending it back the receptionist was giving silly reason like " I said no butter to the chef that's why he added oil" , also asked if anyone else would like to have the same one from the reception didn't even bother to finish the conversation at the table. The lady just walked out and now there is no one to serve the customers. We waited for more than 30 mins just to pay for the food . No wonder they had any customers except for us !

Really good food. Loved the Plan B chicken and Southern style chicken. Good service as well.

I have been twice. Service is bare minimum. Food isn’t as good as my suburban Indian. Went with a coupon and the first time paid quite high. Smiled non existent. Economy drink. Has put me off coupon dining. The entree was the only food of any interest.
