Took a while for the food to come but it was very good. The elk meat was tender and the dry aged bone in ribeye was done just right. Have the seat with the fried onions. The flesh fried cauliflower with mustard sauce is a must order. Probably one of the best steakhouse in Auckland.

Great service and yummy food! Everything was presented so beautifully and the service was great. The first table we went to though, there was condensation dripping down from the pipes above onto the table, but we were able to switch tables with no issues. The ceviche was beautiful; it was quite strong with citrus flavors, but a nice light meal to start the evening. The Wapiti Elk was very yum, not for someone who doesn't like the game-y flavour, but was seasoned and cooked well to medium rare. The bone in ribeye wasn't anything too fancy, it was quite a hefty portion. The star of the night was definitely the creamed corn brûleé, delicious! Desserts were also a hit - the rhubarb was delicious!! Not too sweet either

Can't fault this restaurant. Food is extremely delicious, the chefs did an absolutely amazing job with the seasoning of everything. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. The waitstaff were super friendly and charming. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend you give this place a visit even if it's a bit of a detour from your plans.

Today at @wynyardgrill142, I have to rave about it! In my over a decade in Auckland, this is the restaurant where I've encountered the highest level of service from the entire staff. Regardless of the dishes, all the servers are exceptionally attentive, proactive in recommending dishes, confirming orders, and displaying a fantastic attitude. They noticed when our napkins dropped and promptly replaced them. They actively engaged with our child, greeted us warmly, and constantly checked if we needed anything, from water to clearing plates. This place truly stands out as the epitome of exceptional service in Auckland. Their sincerity shines through, unlike the forced smiles you might encounter elsewhere. Now, let's talk about the food. We ordered: 🍴 New England Clam Chowder: Rich and piping hot, a delightful departure from the usual lukewarm soups. Sincere and satisfying. 🍴 French Onion Soup: Braised onion, crostini, gruyere (my husband's choice). 🍴 French Fries (truffle-free for my child): Noteworthy for their crispiness, even though they were slightly thicker. My child, who usually prefers thin fries, loved them. 🍴 Tuna Tartare: Highly recommended! The layers and textures complement each other superbly, especially when combined with the fried seaweed. 🍴 Black Tiger Prawn: Decent, but I feel it's optional. 🍴 Main Course: Eye fillet for my husband and son, lamb rack for me. The meats were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender inside. A definite thumbs up. Shared sides included mushrooms, grilled broccolini, lemon garlic wilted kale and spinach, and fried cauliflower. The standout was the kale and spinach – warm, salad-like, with a hint of hot oil and a refreshing vinegar-like taste. Highly recommended. If you're in Auckland, I strongly recommend trying out Wynyard Grill Steakhouse and Wine Lounge at Shop 3/142 Halsey Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010.

This place is absolutely one of our "Rave Faves" when we visit Auckland. Is it expensive, YES but you get incredible service and even more incredible food. I challenge anyone to fine a place that treats you like your one of the family and your glass is never empty. And did I mention the drinks and wine!! Seriously, before you die, go here and check it out, you will NOT be disappointed!!

Wow. What can I say. Tonight’s meal was simply amazing. I had the Japanese Wagyu with grilled broccoli and potato gratin whilst the wife had the MZ Eye fillet, potato gratin and wilted kale. To drink I had two old fashions whilst the more sophisticated better half had a wonderful Pinot noir from Central Otago. So the wagyu is bloody expensive and so it should be. It will change your views on steak forever more. Now I didn’t want to be a heathen so asked the chef for a recommendation. This was a wise move as medium / medium rare was his advice so medium was what I elected. I was not disappointed. The sides that accompanied the main was perfect. Added with mushroom sauce and to be honest I felt guilty until I eat it 😂😂😂. It was delicious!! Now as our custom I gave the wife done of mine while she did the same. Her eye fillet (from Te Aroha) was good. For her she doesn’t deviate to far from Eye fillet either, she enjoyed it immensely. For me her Eye fillet was great snd a contrast from my wagyu. But I enjoyed the difference. Wynyard Grill Steakhouse is an easy ride from the centre of town. The restaurant was comfortable and though not high end, let’s the food and drinks speak for itself. The staff are eager, diligent and amazing to talk to. They made us feel welcome and our service staff, Dillion and Sumy are active. The bar manager Co was one in a million. A true French master that knows how to connect with his customers. The old fashions that he poured for me was wicked. The first was smooth whilst the second completely different from what I’ve tried before but in a good way. If you ever want somewhere to enjoy a steak amazing sides and drinks come on down to Wynyard quarter and meet the staff whilst enjoying the wonderful kai. 10/10.

This is a really excellent steakhouse. The meals were very nice. We can recommend the Elk, Salmon and Blackened Prawn starter.

Had a nice dinner on Sat. Relaxed atmosphere with good service. Ordered the Ribeye and Grilled Tiger Prawn. While the Ribeye was so-so, the tiger prawn was awesome.

The food was delicious. Especially recommend the tiger prawn and steak. The front-of-house team is professional and friendly. Upon your request, a manager provides wine recommendations with a detailed explanation. However, the food preparation time is a bit on the longer side, but overall, I was satisfied.

Food is tasty and very well presented. Our waiter (lovely French guy with lots of tattoos) was very friendly and attentive. He saw us exchanging gifts and asked if it was a special occasion. Even though I told him our birthdays were like a month ago he brought over shots for the table. We had a really lovely time and will definitely be back. Thank you so much x

Mouthwatering delicious lunch. I had the steak sandwich and the meat was juicy to my liking, and the fries were perfectly crunchy. My friend got the chowder, which was given high praise. Will definitely return!

Had the Gin flavored snapper fillet....French Onion soup...and it was divine. Service was sharp and very well and professionally executed. Had dinner on the 31st December and the Jazz band added a whole new dimension to the prevailing atmosphere. Will definitely be dining there again. Very interesting grill menu.

All the food was delicious, it is a bit pricey, go in expecting to spend $50-$100 per person. Definitely a meat place, the sides are decent but not a huge variety.

we ordered the petit ribeye, cognac peppercorn sauce, lamb rump, grilled mushrooms & potato gratin. No ccomplaints on the qualty, all the dishes were tasty, but unsurprisingly the price to portion was not great. In the end, i give it a 3* (i may return), as there was nothing to really differentiate wynward grill.

Excellent steakhouse in the Wynyard Quarter of Auckland. Really nice service staff, perfectly grilled steak - I also highly recommend their starters. Awesome local beers on tap as well.

Highly recommend! We went here for dinner last night. The ambience was relaxing, the food is some of the best we’ve had in Auckland (the eye fillet was so juicy and tender — cooked to perfection), and the service is excellent. A special shout out to Corentin whose charisma is an asset to the industry and made the service a point to remember and come back for. We will back 10/10 from us.

Small cozy restaurant with good quality of food and service. However, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is a bit off and I find the price of food items is markedly high in general. With small tweaks, it can easily be the 5 star place to go.

We were blown away at how great this restaurant was! We ordered a few entrees, mains, and sides and all of the food was so delicious - the steak is especially tender and flavorful (we got the elk and eye fillet). We felt like we got a great value and both agreed it was the best meal we had over the course of our month in New Zealand! On top of that, the service is absolutely exceptional and the entire staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend making a reservation!!

This was our first dinner upon arriving in Auckland, and let me tell you -- it set a very high bar for all the subsequent meals of our 12-day trip! As you can tell from the photos, we went a tad overboard with ordering, but it was worth every flavor-filled bite. My husband and I are pescatarians, and our favorites were the Kingfish Carpaccio, Brie & Chives Macaroni and Cheese, Koura (NZ Rock Lobster), Creamed corn brulee (genius), and massive thanks to the chef for swapping out the braised rabbit for strawberries in the Profiteroles, which was a highlight of our meal. Great ambiance, friendly staff, innovative flavors, beautiful presentation, generous portions, and a large menu suitable for meat and seafood eaters alike. We can't wait to come back!

By far my favourite place to dine in the Wynyard Quarter/viaduct. The food is exquisite (the tuna tartare and the baby back ribs will change your life), drinks are cold and replenish your soul. To top it off, the incredible Co (he has the greatest gift of the gab and is the crown jewel of Aucklands hospo industry) along with the rest of the team offer the best customer service in the city. We're always looked after when we go to Winnie Grill. Bonus points for the tasty and great priced lunch deals, Friday fish and chips are a perfect end to the working week.

I can not fault this place at all, the service is always amazing and the food is always perfect. Went for both lunch and dinner on separate occasions and it never fails to impress. For lunch we had a wagyu beef burger which melts in your month and ribs which falls right off the bone, the kumara puree is super tasty as well. The chips are also extrenely delicious, talk about fries that you can't stop eating. This is among one of my top recommended spots in Auckland for both lunch and dinner.

My friend and I went to the Wynyard Grill and ordered the lobster with truffle fries, seafood chowder and the creamed corn brûlée! Can I just say - best seafood feast ever! We were very satisfied! Unfortunately I didn’t take photos of the rest of the meal as we just dug in! The staff were very friendly and attentive and it was just an easy going place! Perfect for dates or a catch up and even an awesome spot for a get together with a bunch of mates. Thank you!

We went there for Auckland Restaurant Month. The set menu was fantastic, good variety to choose from. We had the kingfish, eye fillet, lamb rump, cheesecake and creme brulee. All items were delicious. But as great as the food was, the cocktails were even better - tasty and a feast for the eyes, really gets your appetite going. Would definitely recommend.

A spur of the moment evening out turned into an experience that we will not soon forget but will soon repeat. From our early arrival Co was a wonderful host and made us feel welcome. Consistent, great service coupled with amazing food and drinks was just what we were after. I'd go back for the fresh bread and pesto butter but the wagyu was something really special. We're going back for sure. 9 months later we went back. Japanese wagyu wasn't on the menu, some of the staff were new, but in covid times, I'm galad it's still open. Food was great, the vanilla ice cream did taste store bought but he drinks and service was excellent. The staff we recognised remembered us which was excellent. Will go back.

Eye fillet & wagyu strakes were great. Very nice atmosphere with a live band & service was excellent. Went there for our son’s birthday & all of us were very happy.

Texan baby pork ribs $42 - tastes delicious with meat falling off bone Eye fillet $46 - average, nothing special, however you have to add $6 just for sauce! Duck pate - delicious Potato au gratin - very very salty Cremed corn brulee - delicious Service also excellent

My wife and I enjoyed our 18 year anniversary dinner, and we enjoyed the food, and fantastic service provided. Service was fast, the food was hot, well presented and delicious, would definitely recommend for an occasion dinner.

Just had an absolutely fantastic night. The food was awesome, every steak cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was excellent, live music which was amazing. Finally the service was great, waiters and waitresses were attentive and the French barman is incredible! His cocktails are to die for and his knowledge of drinks is outstanding. I can't wait to go back.
