We ended up at Lovebucket in K Rd in search of well-endorsed cocktail buckets or so I believed, and I was instantly taken aback by this dark brooding cocktail bar with a lounge DJ and tables full of patrons in this back-of-the-way bar. The vibe was evocative, relaxed, somewhat clandestine and heady. We ordered a round of cocktails and were immediately impressed. It was only one round as we were expected elsewhere. This was a return visit place!

Stopped by for post-dinner birthday drinks. The place is located behind curtains at the far end of the K'Rd Food Workshop. We managed to get a table for about 12 without booking. After being seated and given menus, the staff took our order from the table. The place was fairly quiet, compared to the other places. It had a good ambiance so a good place to enjoy a few drinks. The menu had a selection of beers, wine and cocktails. Edit: We tried to do a gin tasting session but they booked the wrong date. Ended up getting other things but it was nice.

Great barman, great atmosphere, not too busy. Lovely cosy place to enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail. Will come back for sure.

We attended Ethan’s cocktail master class tonight for our early Valentine’s Day celebration and it was absolutely a blast! Ethan was very informative, friendly, and supportive throughout the whole class. We learnt new things + had so many great conversations with Ethan himself while drinking our cocktails! 10/10 will recommend!

Wow. Caught up with an old friend here. We wore matching outfits by accident and that was a bit strange - how often do you see two people in brown dungarees and white sweaters? I don’t drink gin. Nice vibes. The lights came on.

Loved it. Nice quiet atmosphere, great drink selection, some food available but you can also get food from the Vietnamese joint out front delivered to your table. Staff are really nice and let you sample if you can't decide what gin to get

One of our favourite bars on K Rd. Spacious and ambient with an amazing range of boutique gins plus a decent selection of craft beer and non-alcoholic beverages .

Good Music. Nice cocktails. Would have liked a little more kick in it. Great place to grab a drink and catch up with friends.

Based on other reviews, I expected more from this place. I had two cocktails, one of which was not great and the other was pretty good, although I had better versions of it elsewhere in Auckland. A nice touch was the vegan foam on one of the drinks usually made with egg white - I think that is really smart to cater to more people. The selection of beers on tap did look pretty good. Service at the bar was decent, but service at the tables was pretty much non-existent. Someone came by to collect empty glasses after maybe 60 to 90 minutes of us being here. The tables were dirty and sticky when we arrived, and were not wiped once in the time we spent there (2-3hrs and multiple rounds). As for large groups - the tables cannot be moved, so they cannot comfortably accommodate large groups. The beer tasting pallet advertised online is to be found nowhere on the menu. Same thing for happy hour offers. I would say the place is convenient for its location and variety of drinks to suit most. The drinks are quite expensive, so overall it is not a great value. I likely would not go again.

My favorite spot tucked away on krd with the best cocktails, cheese toasties, and cozy atmosphere!! Staff truly go the extra mile to make u feel welcome and have great banter. Perfect spot for a quiet date night during the week or a big night out during the weekend, and huge variety of drinks with something for everyone. Great vibes plus has iconic kiwi snacks (e.g. chips&onion dip) and drinks (only bar I've seen that offers purple goannas) plus the asahi on tap is better than the bottles. Hats off to Ethan, liana and madi for their excellent service!

Lemme paint you a picture. It’s a quiet Thursday evening. I’ve just purchased my negroni at the bar. I find my seat. My friends have their beers. 5 minutes pass. And no sign of my drink. I wonder up to the bar, I’m reassured that my negroni is on the way. They don’t seem That busy. It’s been 15 minutes, it’s still quiet, and I’m yet to get my drink. HNF xx Edit - negroni was nice

The cocktails were good. But quite pricey, and also they were clearly understaffed (no discredit to the staff that were there). It took a while to order.

Sadly not a pleasant experience from a group of South Island travellers Short staffed, Staff reccomendation of the 3 different gins were bland and tasted the same. Food average. The manager was unfriendly and disinterested. The female wait staff who had been there 3 days was pleasant and helpful but required training . Would not reccomend this bar. Sandra Lamb Nelson

Such a vibe. A little on the warm side, but the drinks and throwback nibbles make you forget that. Cute lighting and decor, stay and chat for hours.

Been twice and had a great experience both times. It’s a cool atmosphere and they play good music (hip hop ish?). Either way, I enjoy it! The staff are super friendly and attentive and they make a MEAN negroni. I’m looking forward to my next visit

Staff and space are lovely, the design is thoughtful and the drinks are solid, but unfortunately both cost much more than what we were expecting (she paid $33 for a negroni and I paid $39 for a tasting paddle). Not sure how this happened but it took away from the experience.

I had the most awesome service from my girl Liana, top notch with service on the drinks and extremely hospitable. Can’t overstate how incredible she made our night, highly recommend a pay raise for this lovely lady
