This bridge is fine. It helps cars cross the water. BUT; it doesn't help enough cars. It should help more cars. The exposed metal is cool. We like to see it. Engineering is nice. The view of the city is very very nice otherwise this review would be a resounding 2 stars.

Auckland Harbour Bridge is a critical transport link and a national icon, carrying up to 180,000 plus vehicles a day. It was constructed in 1959 and an additional 4 lanes were added in 1968. Not only is it the largest steel arch bridge on the planet, but it also spans one of the globe's finest natural harbours. Affectionately named the Coathanger by locals, it's an intrinsic part of the city; you can walk or cycle across it and even climb to its peak for incredible views.

Excited to have a chance to closely look at the bridge at the Auckland Marathon event on 30 October 2022 particularly it was on a rainy day adding to it a very special feeling and experience.

There is no way that this bridge is more than a collective 3 star. It's an average bridge at best. Auckland needs an entirely new bridge, one that supports a rail line, walking and bicycle path and perminant 3 lanes north 3 lanes south at minimum. If they can't upgrade the bridge then build a subway underground to elevate traffic and to offer an alternative. This bridge is ugly, lacks lanes, and has an ugly concrete divider that needs moving during peak rush hours. It's also boring looking, nothing unique about it and isn't very high.

The view of Auckland City sky line from this bridge is stunning. If you can book a tour to scale the bride I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

Somehow it doesn't seem so famous or as spectacular as Sydney Harbour Bridge and we didn't climb it, but it's still a super structure and it felt all the more impressive as we rode under it in the Harbour Cruise boat trip.

My favorite thing about the Auckland Harbour Bridge is that it helps me get to the other side of the city. Very useful. Will use again!

The bridge is always nice to visit. A good stroll along the water. Great views. Plenty of people around walking biking fishing bungy jumping or doing the bridge climb. Havent seen the bridge light up at night yet. A must do

Nice bridge & hard to fault it as a tourist . I drove across the expanse in both directions and the Saturday flow of traffic was quite relaxed in contrast to the Sydney harbour bridge . No unexpected merge lanes or trains , just a great bridge with awesome views of Auckland Harbour & beyond . The engineering behind the bridge is quite remarkable considering there are two actual bridges with 43m of clearance below deck . The complete span across the bridge is just over one kilometre & the bridge was commissioned on the 30th of May 1959.

I mean, wow. Its a great link from the North Shore to the city...or city to the North Shore. 8 lanes in total...and i have no idea what the hell else you can say. Its a functional bridge, that you can alao bungy jump off, or do a walking tour of. Ooohhhhh, you could sail under it on a boat...

Walked under and jumped off this bridge with the AJ hackett bungee team. What a beautiful view of if Auckland and the harbour. Sail boats all over the harbour. Very windy so make sure to wear a jacket or windbreaker. I don't think you can go on or under the bridge or then with the AJ hackett bungee team.

The bridge is fine but the traffic management for it SUCKS. Also no pedestrian access from the shore to the CBD.

Beautiful bridge, lots of history and hard work put into this bridge. The lights on display in the evening bring me here frequently. The viewpoint is near the sky tower and you can see this in certain points in Auckland.

It’s been refreshing to see the fantastic light show displayed on the Auckland Harbour Bridge over the Waitemata Harbour every evening on the half-hour for 5 minutes. We’re currently locked down in an Auckland CBD hotel for managed isolation, and this show gives us something beautiful to look forward to seeing from our vantage point. THANK YOU.

Nice place to see the sunset when clear sky and no wind. Sometimes you can get a good fish.

Lovely view of Auckland central's skyline amd wharf. Since there is no walking path on the bridge, you can take a double decker bus NX1 to see this beautiful view.

Gutted the public bait boards have mostly been removed, sadly. Unsurprisingly, sadly, given the filth left behind by revolting visitors/disease. Perplexed as to the purpose of the employees of the council & what their $50000 starting rate job description actually consists of? As I saw NOTHING done by TWO of them, apart from telling some other ignorant to turn their music down but WHAT is tax payers getting from this?? RULE OF THUMB # If, IT, comes with you, IT, leaves with you!!!! 💯🖕🤬 Such a BEAUTIFUL spot that NZERS take for granted, wake up muppets or f*** off💯🖕🙏❣️

👍 Nice hidden away beach discovered after living on the North Shore for 30 years. It was small but a nice lunchtime stroll in the sunshine to this upper harbour beach.
