This is the best pet store i have ever been to! I saw a listing on morph market for a day gecko and sent a message. I got a response almost immediately, my questions were all answered in less than 10 minutes, and we were able to pick up the gecko in about 30 minutes of conversation.The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, and the owner is spectacular! In addition, they have great prices and very healthy animals. All of their reptiles are kept in spacious bioactives. My new gecko is super healthy and eats like a champ. If this store wasn’t an hour away, i would go here daily! Highly recommended for any animal enthusiast!

I absolutely love this place! The staff is amazingly helpful and knowledgeable, and their selection of birds, reptiles, amphibians and small animals, as well as supplies, is miles ahead of any chain pet store. I love that all of the animals are properly housed (something else you don’t see in chain stores), and how clearly the staff really care for these beautiful creatures. All of the animals are so comfortable and well socialized! They have become my new go-to for supplies, and I will definitely be buying my next critter here. I would much rather support them than the chain stores.

This is the kind of pet shop I remember as a kid. This is not a franchise and customer service and great product greatly caught my attention. The staff is knowledgeable, they greet every customer that walks into the store. There are a few furry canines that walk freely throughout the store that are just as happy to see you! They have so many birds, reptiles and assorted pets and pet foods to choose from. Last but not least, their prices are very reasonable and the products offered are of excellent quality. If you need a change from the franchise type pet stores that are expensive and lack knowledgeable staff, do yourself a favor and give this business a try.

Came here with my sons a few days ago and what an experience! We had so much fun. I haven't seen a pet shop like this in a long time. I've literally been talking to people about it ever since we left. When we walked in, we were greeted by a 3 friendly dogs and super friendly staff. I believe one was a German Sheppard that could easily rip me to shreds but don't worry, totally chill dog. The birds are cool too. My kids were talking to them! Yes, you get hit with the smell of "pets" the whole time but that's to be expected. Its a smaller store. I love to shop at local stores so we will be back here for sure. Especially to see the snakes and other reptiles! Some of them I didn't even know existed. Hoping to convince my wife its ok to get my son a snake one day ;)

Garden state pet center is one like no other I’ve been to. I’ve recently purchased a bearded dragon and the staff is so knowledgeable of their animals. Everything is well kept and clean. I highly recommend you give them a try for all your animal needs. Feel free to ask questions because they really know their products inside and out. Plus made a fun experience for my daughter.

It’s the absolute best place you could ever go to for your animals. It’s run by true animal lovers who genuinely care about the health and wellbeing of our babies. They will open your eyes to holistic and natural remedies and foods galore that will not only change your baby’s overall well-being, but give you a sense of peace knowing your animal is eating as clean and serene as can be Id leave a constellation of stars if it were possible. Could not recommend enough.

The cleanliness of the shop was impressive. The thought to every product purchased for the store was to give your pet the best nutrition. The knowledge to every product and the benefits to the health of our pets was the key concern to them. The personal touch of service, the knowledge, and clear concern over the care of what you want and need will keep me coming back always. It’s truly a pleasure going to their shop.

Everyone is phenomenal here! I purchase all food for my cat, and added a snake (Daphne) to the family from garden state pet center. The entire staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the products are of excellent quality, and the animals are obviously well cared for and in great health. So grateful to have them in the neighborhood!

I was driving home with my son at night when he told me he needed food for his rabbit. It had been a long day, we were only 2 miles from home and the complete opposite direction of any of the usual places we get rabbit food when I remembered this little pet shop we had never been to before and pulled in. My son and I went in and were glad we did. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable and they had a great selection. We took a look around the rest of the store and were surprised at the selection of pets they had for a small independent pet store. They had ferrets, chinchillas, an impressive assortment of lizards and snakes and an even more impressive selection of birds. We will definitely be going back.

Garden state pet center is the absolute best! I am so happy to have a local pet business in the area that actually CARES!!!! I was driving over 30 minutes to get my dog’s food since it is only carried by a limited amount of stores but now I can get it only 5 minutes away! I love that everything in their store are products that they stand by! Every time I go into the store it is always a pleasant experience. Victor and his staff are so pleasant and knowledgable. They always have the best recommendations and suggestions without being overly pushy (like a lot of those big stores) and truly have knowledge of the products on their shelves. I love that I can trust and truly consider their opinions when it comes to my pets because they truly do care and value their customers. I also love to come in to talk to the birds. My girlfriend has been wanting a bird for years but we decided it is best to wait until we buy a house. When the time does come to purchase a bird you can bet I will be purchasing from Victor! I was in about a week ago and purchased a baby rabbit. When we got the rabbit home, I noticed he wasn’t eating and his poops were infrequent and very soft. I chalked it up to nerves. After two days the rabbit had completely stopped eating and pooping, which I know is a deadly sign in rabbits so I called the vet. After examination, I was told the rabbit was malnourished, very bloated, and showing obvious signs of stasis. He also tested positive for a parasite that is a common killer of rabbits. So after paying $250+ in vet bills and medication, the rabbit is still not in possession because he is slowly being nursed back to health. My bigger issue with this store is that not only did they sell me an extremely sick pet, but now the owner of the store refuses to take accountability for the situation and won’t even give us the courtesy of a call back. My husband called the store twice asking for a callback from the owner. Both times he spoke to the manager who relayed a message to us (after the second phone call) from the owner, which was basically that they’re not willing to do a thing. They also went as far as to tell us that they had just gotten the rabbits in the day before and didn’t know they were sick, thus letting me know that this store doesn’t check the health of all pets before sale. I read in previous reviews that their pets are vetted and that they can provide records on the animals… I’d like to see them. A store that wishes to uphold their reputation should be able to ensure the health of all of their pets, or at least take accountability for those that are not. I’m looking forward to the completely unprofessional response from whoever it is that responds to these things, calling customers “Karens” and dramatic. I will be sure to spread the word, letting people know to stay away from this store. The only good thing to come from this experience is that we (hopefully) saved this baby’s life.

This pet store is a must! The employees are very welcoming and kind and will help you out through every step of the way. They have such nice exotic animals that you never heard or seen before. The food options for each and every pet of yours is also a GREAT and awesome variety. There’s foods here that are so nutritional for your pet, you will not find them in a basic pet store. So if you want to visit to try something new or see some new exotic pet, this is the place!!

Great new pet store! Very welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very friendly but not overbearing. They gave great recommendations. Huge variety of pets for sale and I loved seeing their little dog walk around. Overall great experience and I look forward to shopping here in the future!

I got a baby cockatiel less than a week ago, and she (actually no idea of the gender) is already totally hand tamed and so sweet, loves to sit on my shoulder and is beginning to chirp. I never imagined that she'd be out of her cage hanging out so quickly. I imagine she misses all of the sounds of the store - there are so many birds playing in there. But I'm just really impressed by how used to people she is, and I'm excited for her to get better at flying and climbing. The store is great, everyone is super helpful and nice, and there are a ton of good toys for sale. update: pics... she likes music.

I’ll never go anywhere for pets, supplies or boarding ever again! Exotic pets is a one stop shop for all things birds, reptiles, dogs and supplies! I am in and out and I never walk around looking for help. The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. I love walking in and they know exactly what I need and remember my animals. This is NOT just a bird store. If you’re lucky you’ll be greeted by the two most beautiful baby French bulldogs. Prices are far better than Petco or any of the large chain corporate stores.

Victor and Nick are fantastic. I bought a bearded dragon from them, and he is now thriving with the advice they gave me. Also, I have a 15 year old mini daschund that is very old, and struggling to get around. Victor gave me a sample of a cbd product to not only calm him down and give him some relief, but also to strengthen his joints, on top of better holistic food. Since beginning the cbd product, my dog is getting around much better, and seems to be in much less joint pain. I have since bought the big container of it. I have nothing but fantastic things to say about this place, and it is very obvious how knowledgeable they are, and how much they generally care about their animals.

So the place is great! The store is new so if you haven’t visited yet, I recommend you do so! The staff are fantastic and knowledgeable of the animals on site. They make your visit personal and one of a kind. They currently specialize in exotic birds, with a small area for small animals, and some aquatic/amphibians onsite. Place isn’t huge but they utilize the space well. Prices are great and I return time after time to continue to support local small business! Thanks for the two english budgies! See you soon!

Great little store and even better experience. After two visits, both my kids can't wait to go back. Knowledgeable and caring employees who made the experience memorable for my kids and pleasant for the parents. Who needs to visit the zoo when you have a pet store like this, a wonderful time and you can pick up some great stuff for your pets and see some really cool animals.

I recently visited the new store in Audubon during their Grand Opening. I must say I am blown away at the staffs knowledge of all my animal needs. They have something for everything and knew what to recommend. I also walked around and visited with the animals they had in store. With so many animals I was pleasantly surprised with how well kept and well taken care of the animals were in. Even let me interact with some of the birds. I will be going back again!

So excited having a great pet store close to home! One where the staff actually helps you and knows what they are talking about. It was a wonderful experience to get not only the items I needed for my special needs dog but overall visiting and interacting with the animals they had in store. I currently have 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 bunny, 1 bearded dragon and 2 African dwarf frogs and they had everything I needed to care for these animals and things I didn't even know existed that could help my animals stay healthier. Now I am considering which animal is next for me since I will be returning to this store for my next animal purchase. I just recently bought the most beautiful ball python there and the man that helped me and my partner was so helpful and knowledgeable. Will definitely be coming back here if I ever need help with my snakes in the future, great experience.

Went in today after passing by it for a few months. Very happy I did. Staff were super friendly even introducing me to a few animals that were on location and the store is chock full of food, treats, toys, and equipment for all types of pets. Staff were openly playing with and talking to the animals on location in an endearing and caring manner which is certainly a positive to see. Def going back highly recommend.

I had an absolutely brilliant experience with both owners. They were informative, allowed us to spend time with the birds and were extremely helpful. Both owners are beyond knowledgeable and true animal lovers in every sense of the word.

Such an awesome pet store! I boarded my two lizards with them for a week! It was about 150$ in total which is affordable in my eyes! Especially since they board small animals! It was a small local pet store and their selection of animals was awesome! I’ll definitely be coming back! They took great care of my animals and even let me hold their boa!

Run to this store !! I The owners have a wealth of information on the best needs for your pet. They helped be switch to a raw food diet for my dog, Bella, and she is 13 and thriving! My husband found this store online. We were in search of boarding for our parrots and chinchilla at the end of August. They were so helpful and accommodating. It’s so nice to see a local store with parrots, toys, and supplies…and supplies for our chinchilla, too. We will definitely be going back very soon for parrot grooming, food, and toys. My nephew and his girlfriend told me about this store. They couldn't wait to bring me there. I have to say, I was impressed. I have never met nicer, more knowledgeable group of employees. I asked them about an issue my dog was having, and Victor, one of the owners, knew right away what the problem was. He told us what to do, and my dog is doing much better. Everyone there is friendly and eager to answer your questions or educate you on the animals. My fiance will definitely be repeat customers like my nephew and his girlfriend.

Just what we need, another seller of deliberately-bred animals. Please consider shelter animals. Every one you sell removes a space in a family for a rescue animal/bird/reptile. It's great that you sell supplies, but please, no animals.

Nick is amazing with handling all the pets, especially when they are not well. I count on him for times when in need and he always go the extra mile. This is wonderful little store! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The store was clean and stocked with a variety of wonderful high quality options for all variety of animals. The animals were clean. They all seems healthy, it’s not everyday you walk into a small store and you don’t smell the animals. Staff was knowledgeable on supplements and helped us get what we needed. The store also had a really nice layout. For as small as the store is it is packed with great options. I would recommend this store hands down!
