Staff is friendly, room is clean and fantastic. Water? Dont use the tap. There's a mini keurig but you cant use it without using a bottle of water which is frustrating. The staff will fortunately provide this at seemingly no charge but thats a silver lining to a situation that feels bad. Also. The tv's didnt work. We had a 3rd floor king suite and neither the living space tv or the bed television had any signal. There was no visible way to fix it and we couldnt even use our devices to at least cast something to the screen forcing us to just sit on our tablet to watch something before bed. I love going here and have many times before. A big part of that is the perfect location across from the mall and the wonderful staff. But the room issues have gotten worse every time we have visited. I hope this gets fixed.

It began with reserving room, as I was traveling by UHaul truck, I needed room to park the truck and trailer which I was assured there was plenty of room. Upon arriving, I find barely enough room for the truck itself, unless I want to park in another businesses parking lot. I requested a 1 hour early check in which was denied. I request my upgrade, as a Diamond Elite member to which I am again denied and put in a motel style room that a guy can barely turn around in. The outside of the rooms in this area are littered with cigarette butts and have a constant flow of young people, that checked in with their belongings in clear plastic bags, milling around. The bed was comfortable but when I went to shower in the morning, the bath water ran brown as rust for a good 4 minutes leaving me not feeling overly clean after my shower. As I didn't fly out till 6:00 pm, I requested a late check out to which, low and behold, I was denied again. Now I would be disappointed in my stay at a normal price but to pay close to $190 a night after taxes, this stay verged on one of the very worst stays I have ever experienced....and I travel for a living and stay in approx. 75 hotels per year. Now I have read others' reviews and noticed the manager always uses the term "embellished" in his replies which tells me that this review will not be taken seriously either but take the comment for what it is. You could read my history of comments on Google and find I am not a generally negative person on my reviews. Will not be back!!

We stayed recently because we had medical appointments nearby. The location is great. We had a room in the hotel tower section. The room had clearly been recently renovated. Bathroom very clean, grout was pretty clean, fixtures all looked pretty new. Furniture in the room was all new looking, not worn. Even the carpet looked pretty new. All good and we appreciated the cleanliness. Beds were already dipping where people sit up - maybe rotate them to even out the use. We witnessed other guests standing in the stairwell on our floor, smoking next to the little window that they had opened. That was disappointing. Our big concern was the lack of mask wearing. Half the front desk / office staff we saw just never wore masks. Not pulled down. They did not have one on. All the housekeeping staff we saw in the hotel hallways / in rooms (4-5 different people over our stay that we saw working on rooms) had no masks. Not just pulled down, but *no mask* while working. People walking in and out of the restaurant had no masks. Not sure customers or staff, but no enforcement there either. It is currently the law in Ontario that masks are required. The hotel had signs up everywhere reminding people of this. Yet many staff in customer facing positions just did not wear masks. This blatant disregard for the law, for the customers (many of whom stay here due to its proximity to the large regional hospital), for their coworkers, was very concerning. Ontario has indicated that there are very few medical conditions that justify not wearing masks. I find it doubtful that all the housekeepers we encountered and the front desk / office staff all have these medical conditions exempting them. That would be a very high number of people working here with serious medical issues. I believe it is more likely a management choice to ignore the law. It makes me wonder what other hotel bylaws and what food service bylaws, etc they decided just didn't apply to them either so they were going to ignore them. Who knows what else they are not doing properly? We choose to not eat in the restaurant as we had no faith in anything being enforced. Despite the rooms being newer, we will stay elsewhere if we have to return to the area.

My clients recently booked a hotel block for their guests at this hotel. Since I was coming from out of town I decided to also stay the night instead of driving home that night. When I arrived for check in I was directed to the back portion of the hotel outside to my room on the lower floor of the "motel" portion of the hotel. From what I understand, the couple had specifically asked that their guests be put in rooms inside the hotel rather than in the back motel area. While the room was clean and to the same standards as the hotel portion of the Best Western, I found the motel to be very off-putting as a single female arriving late at night. As soon as I walked outside I noticed a crowd of men smoking on the upper level of the motel looking down on the parking lot. There was a strong smell of weed in the area and I felt very uncomfortable when a man started walking directly behind me as a I approached my room. I personally would not stay in this portion of the hotel again on a solo trip and would instead double check that my room was located inside the hotel itself.

We stayed at the Best Western Voyageur this weekend as we were in town for a wedding. We stayed in the motel section which was great as we were able to park right in front of our room. Our room was very clean. The bed was comfy so we both got a good nights sleep. The next morning housekeeping came and tidied up a bit (made the bed, replaced the soap we had used already etc). We also had breakfast at the restaurant on site (The Buttery) and it was absolutely amazing. The breakfast was delicious! I recommend staying at this location if you are ever in New Market.

Was very clean. Service was better than average. The restaurant was privately owned but the atmosphere was nice and service was good. Had to return the under cooked pancakes. Food was good. I like that this place is located with several stores and restaurants within walking distance. The price was fair as well.

The Hotel was more like a Motel, with detached rooms around the back. No pool on location. The pool is apparently across the street (4 lanes and around the bend, so you would need to drive) at a rec center which at the moment is being used for Covid purposes and not available to utilize. No breakfast, there is a restaurant attached to it but you still don't get a discount or coupon for the inconveniences. I gave it a two because the staff, you could tell are trying their best with what they are given with at that location. We only stayed one night, but it was enough to notice.

We stayed here during our trip to Toronto for my cousin’s wedding at the nearby Madison Greenhouse Event Venue; we were visiting from New Jersey, USA. Extreme value and bang for the buck! The room was extremely spacious and we had no complaints at all about the quality of the room and also the superb service at the front desk. Parking was very convenient and we would highly recommend this Best Western if you are doing anything in the Newmarket area - great value!

Been staying at this hotel for years and put thousands of dollars into it, yet, despite booking for a week and paying in advance, I was called by the front desk and told I had to vacate the room because someone else was taking it over. I tried to explain that I had booked the room already and even confirmed my reservation with THREE different staff members, however, I was told that their night staff took my money but “didn’t extend my stay on their computer” — it was the manger who booked me in for a week and yet she’s the one who told me to leave in order to make way for the new guest. After that whole fiasco, I was then told to pack up my room and be gone by 12:25 or I wouldn’t be refunded my money. Once I made it to the lobby, I was made to wait 20 minutes while the manager chatted on the phone because apparently calling someone else to help me was asking too much. I tried to discuss the issue with the GM who was rude and extremely condescending. Trying to fix the issue didn’t help though because I was told I wasn’t welcome back to the hotel. After leaving the hotel, I was approached by the GM in the parking lot who told me to either sign a receipt or give her back the refund she issued me. Now keep in mind that this was MY money that had been refunded by the hotel after they kicked me out despite me having paid and being booked. I told her I wasn’t giving her MY money and she then attempted to grab my arm and then stand in front of my car. I’m not even sure why I chose to come back to this hotel because they don’t clean the rooms. I stayed here for 3 full months back in 2022, and it got so bad that I had to go out and buy a broom, mop, mop bucket, and cleaners. In the end, I ended up spending $150 to clean the room. Housekeeping entered my room once and a pair of diamond earrings that I had sitting on my end table went missing. I practically tore my room apart searching for them because I didn’t want to believe they would steal from me, but they were gone. After that, I just took anything of value with me when I left the room. Some of the staff are extremely sweet people but the majority are rude.

My stay was short for only one night but it was still great. I had asked front desk for an earlier check in and they were very accommodating and friendly. The room was very clean and I had no complaints. I was a little worried about my vehicle as it was such a busy area but I found parking nicely and everything was great. Thanks Best Western! Will definitely be back when needed :)

Stayed here while away for work. It's an older hotel that has been updated. The room I had was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The room itself was a decent size, with a sofa, chair, mini fridge and microwave. The front desk clerk, whose name I didn't get when I checked in was very polite and friendly. There is an onsite restaurant, but it is only open for breakfast and lunch. Overall, a pleasant experience.

We have stayed here several times. The front desk staff are always welcoming and accommodating. Rooms may be a bit dated however they are always clean and the beds are very comfortable. Management follows up on any questions or comments. The attached restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and is very good.

For an older motel, it's had one of the better remodel jobs I've seen. Rooms are clean and quiet and the beds are comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the restaurant is hard to beat. Highly recommended. Good value.

My husband and I stay here a couple times a year. The building is dated but the rooms are clean and the service is excellent. It's located right across the road from Upper Canada Mall so I can shop while my husband is at work. The attached restaurant is nice and has a good all day breakfast.

As a physician who works in a hospital near by I have stayed in this hotel plenty of times and for a duration of 5-7 consecutive nights at a time. Today when I asked them for a pre-mature checkout at 3:30pm - they insisted to charge me for a full night price (even though they charge half price if someone checks out before 3pm). I asked to talk to the manager who kindly did speak with me. “I will not mention her name - to be the bigger person!” unfortunately she was not receptive, and insisted on charging full price (even though I am just 30mins late to checkout). She claimed that I had done this multiple times in the past!! Which I corrected her that I only had it done once! I reminded her of me being a regular customer, and that did not mean anything to her. When I told her that “you are loosing a client this way”, she said “you are a bully and you are threatening me”!!! She also mentioned additional rude comments such as “you are disrespectful”! I told her that I would ask for this phone call to be audited as phone calls are recorded! Absolutely a bizarre way to deal with customers. To be honest, this is a nice hotel, and the front desk are super nice and helpful at all times! The rooms are also clean and well priced. From all the previous times I stayed here, this was the only bad interaction that I had! I did hang up the phone at the end, because it was too much and I knew had I stayed longer I would have said things that I would regret. Its extremely upsetting that managers who are supposed to be well trained how to deal with all types of customers, actually escalate things rather than de-escalate them. This conversation was at around 3:30pm on May 11th.

Air conditioning was loud and the room was stuffy and a bit aged. Carpet was not properly cleaned but the staff quickly took care of that. All of the staff was great!

was an all around fantastic stay. We especially loved that out room was the last one on the end. Also, we loved the shampoos, conditioners and mouthwash. Another super added bonus was that phenomenal Italian restaurant in your building. We had a fabulous breakfast before heading home. We will definitely stay here again and request the same room.

I had reserved over 20 rooms for my daughter’s wedding. All my guests had a wonderful experience and were full of praise for the Hotel. Great service, very friendly staff, rooms were clean and breakfast had a great selection. Miranda the AGM who was my contact was simply awesome to work with as she went above and beyond with her attention to detail. Definitely the place to be and enjoy

As far as hotels go, it is basic but serves its purpose. The tower rooms are more updated while the motel-style need to be done. We had this as our wedding hotel and while the staff were pleasant enough to deal with and did what they could, there should really be a bit more collaborative effort between the hotel and the wedding that brings them business. If we are bringing you multiple rooms of business, you should: offer guaranteed early check-in, breakfast vouchers, a suite to get ready in free of charge, welcome baskets, a discount on shuttle, something to share in this collaboration where the wedding couple can benefit as well. it's easy enough for people to find a hotel-- if you want us to work for you, you need to work with us as well.

We had a nice time staying here for a wedding recently. Tidy and comfortable place to stay while you’re visiting Newmarket. Parking is a bit busy/crowded, but other than that, nice! Ritu helped us at the front desk and we really enjoyed chatting with her! She made our experience special and went out of her way to chat with us and give us a personal experience.

My family and I have been staying at the Voyageur for some time now. It's become our go-to place whenever we are in the Toronto area. If you drive, it's far more affordable than staying anywhere downtown, even if the commute is a fair bit longer. The front desk staff are exceptional. Any request or questions I've had are answered amazingly, and the customer service is nothing short of phenomenal. The breakfast is delicious, has a ton of variety, and is reasonably priced for someone on a bit of a budget. Rooms themselves are well maintained, clean, and often very accessible if you manage to snag one up against the parking lot. Beds are comfortable, and the wifi works very well. Nothing bad to say at all. Will be staying there again real soon!

Don't be fooled by its looks. I have stayed in many hotels in North America because of my job and this one was by far one of the cleanest and biggest rooms I have stayed in. They even provide a microwave on top of everything else and staff were super helpful with providing us with some necessities like utensils, plates, and cups. Beds are also very comfy and the air conditioning works great!

The gal that checked me in (she had a beautiful name that I can't remember) was very friendly and accommodating with changing the room she'd offered me. My Fitbit told me that I'd had the BEST sleep in over a year which was quite something (maybe I should move in there?) The room was clean and my one night stay comfortable. I would return.

I enjoyed our stay but the one thing I can't get over is the terrible toilet paper. Even in the nice king bed suite with a jacuzzi tub in it, they had the worst, thin toilet paper than just sticks to you. So gross. Is it an unspoken rule now to just bring your own to hotels?? Anyway, the room was great and the staff were very nice. The location was across from Upper Canada Mall. We were there for a wedding and the uber driver found us easily.

It’s a hotel. One of the only places in the area to stay for a wedding. If you are ask for the room in the basement to get people together.

The rooms are spacious, clean and the staff is just amazing (Rachel, the receptionist, you are the best). I travel about 200 days per year, and I felt that my needs were addressed in that hotel. I also felt safe, as the room and the common ares were clean and Desinfected. I really liked its location as well. Close to gyms, supermarkets, pharmacy, etc. Such a great location. I do recommend this hotel, for sure

Great hotel. Clean room, comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were not planning on staying somewhere so we had nothing with us. They were able to supply (free of charge) the necessities that were needed. Only down side, which was not huge was there was no continental breakfast, which normally is a big thing for us as we don't normally eat a full breakfast. The restaurant was really good though. Good location.

We booked a queen room which was a standard size for any hotel room. Lots of space was available for storage and seating. The bed was definitely not queen size, more like a slightly bigger double bed. Pillows proved to be quite comfortable and the temperature of the room was easily controlled. The TV had most cable channels available. The washroom had a standing shower tub and was clean. I was most impressed by the size of the mini fridge in the room - it was easily double the size of most hotel rooms that I have stayed in. Beverages can be found in the lobby throughout the day with coffee and tea being offered in the evening. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is not a swimming pool on site despite there being many photos. However, there is a restaurant on site that provides breakfast and lunch. The hotel is conveniently located on Yonge St and is within a few minutes drive of many amenities (e.g. restaurants, shopping centre). Overall, we had a good experience staying here - better than expected!

This is our "go to" hotel in the Newmarket area. It is always clean with an updated bathroom. The beds are comfortable, as well. And the staff are always helpful. We typically take one of the external rooms since I prefer to have my motorcycle parked in front of the room. Upon this visit, we were delighted to learn that the hotel has arranged for a hotel client discount for meals at Moxies just a short walk away.

If I could I would give this hotel 0 stars. Normally I’m not the type to leave a review, but this particular property almost demands that I leave one to save would be guests of being scammed. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY ELSEWHERE. Housekeeping rarely — if ever, tend to the rooms. Upon reading past reviews this hotel’s rude as hell manager Pat Lusnick will say that it’s due to covid protocol, and on another post where the guests asked that cleaners not go into the room (and ultimately had items stolen from their room), it’s because they have a certain standard or cleanliness? Which is it, and were these employees dealt with in an according manner? They say hindsight is 20/20, and if I had known what I do about this property the first time I stayed, I would have splurged and stayed elsewhere. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY! STAY ELSEWHERE!!’

Stayed Friday to Sunday 20-22 May 2022. Reception was warm and welcoming. Check in was a breeze having completed the preregistration a couple days prior to arrival. Room was spacious and clean. I had flagged one of the house keeping staff for a spare garbage bag, as I try to keep my personal dirty laundry in one but had forgotten to throw one in my suit case. The house keeping staff that I approached didn't bat an eye at this strange request.

I only stayed at this property for 1 night and it was ok..... room was nice and clean and the staff was great.... the only issue which is not a big deal for me but might be for some is there is no free breakfast.... there is a restaurant attached to the hotel but can't comment on it because i did not try it....

Nice hotel, it's not fancy at all but the staff is friendly and the beds are cozy. It has an old fashioned vibe, it reminds me of a hotel in the movies where someone would take their mistress, or hide from the law or have a pre party with friends. Cons - damp carpets, has smells sometimes Pros - great location, right across from the Upper Canada mall, mcdonalds, wendys, tim hortons, circle k down the street 2 minutes. AC was great and quiet rooms.

Rooms are well appointed. Lack of breakfast with the room (unlike many BW locations) made my rating 4 stars. Maybe this property can give a breakfast credit for the onsite restaurant.

We stayed here for our wedding this past October 2022. I worked with Miranda who helped me to book off a section of rooms for our date as well as booking a room for us and my in laws for the night before the wedding and the night of. She also mailed me cute hotel info cards as inserts for our wedding invites. She also mailed me some more when I ran out. She was so gracious, kind and patient! I really enjoyed working with her! As for the stay, the hotel was the closest one to the venue. Which we loved for our guests! Not so easy to turn into the hotel - I think there was construction? We accessed the hotel via the LCBO parking lot. The hotel room itself did not have the nicest view but we loved our room - we got a nice tub and shower. The room itself was not big but it really was great for us! We did have a lot of stuff though - not just overnight bags but a lot of wedding stuff. And I had to bring it all in as I had no idea where I packed anything! It was just overall crazy for me but we made it work! The staff were so lovely and brought up a kettle to the room so I could make tea. What kind of bride forgets her own facial cleanser, a razor and body wash? This girl! The Front Desk staff immediately offered us coffee upon checking in and made sure my in laws were comfortable. They asked me what I needed and told them and they supplied me with toiletries and I wanted to cry. I got a razor, shaving cream, body wash and shampoo (even though I brought my own, they insisted on giving me extra!). They were lovely! I did end up going to Shoppers nearby - the hotel is located next to so many things and it's so convenient! Once checked in, we were able to just get comfortable and unpacked. The bed was so comfortable and I was able to sleep for a few hours before the big day! While the lighting was not great in the hotel room and with the lack of sun on our wedding day, we were able to get some groom shots in the hotel lobby. After our amazing wedding day, staff were so nice and let us use a board room downstairs so we could mingle with a few of the guests that were staying overnight. We had some leftover seafood from our late night menu and some McDonalds and it was so nice to just sit down and reminisce about the day we had. Thank you to the Best Western Staff for everything! You made our stay so comfortable and I am truly grateful for everything! Amazing customer service! Thank you will never be enough!

My room at this hotel was on of the worse room ever. It was a motel room without the ability to park in front of my room. The room was under an outdoor stair set made of aluminium so it was 24 / 7 noise. The a/c heat pump unit by the door was very loud so could not use the room for work over zoom. Floor was weak and carpet was so old and dust. Will not stay here again
