I was so happy to find this coffee shop! We aren't vegans but my mom and I were looking for a nice place to drink coffee and chat. The atmosphere was so nice and the lady at the front was very pleasant (I am assuming the owner). We took a chocolate muffin, a cinnamon danish and we especially liked the pumpkin muffin. Coffee was interesting (we are used to cow/goat milk)! Everything was paper cups and boxes (no dishes), probably because of Corona. Will be back!

The owner is super friendly and desserts are to die for! Also a great selection of vegan grocery items (vegan cheeses, just egg, etc). A little pricey but worth it for a special treat, our favorites are the Boston cream croissant and black forest cake!

A visiting family was kind enough to bring some goodies from VDB for dinner. We weren’t even of the existence of this bakery so we were pleasantly surprised as well as the gesture by family. The Tiramisu Cheesecake (10 out of 5!) was sublime and was amongst the best vegan cheesecake we have ever had. In fact it would be right near the top as well even compared to non vegan cheesecakes we have ever had. The Chocolate Biscotti (10 out of 5!) was again a grand slam. It’s been a while since I had a biscotti since we turned vegan and this just hit the spot. With coffee - OMG! Although we got to eat half, it was very satisfying. Danish Rum Balls (10 out of 5) - my favourite ice cream flavour at one was Rum Raisin and this DRB bought memories of those days. Perfectly flavoured with rum, and the raisins were a bomb with rum flavour. Just mind blowing. Butter Pecan Tarts - (5 out of 5). Very good tarts. Not too sweet, the pie shell, very well done and baked to perfection. The Danish Pastry (3 out of 5). They are not my favourite and this didn’t change my mind. Mind you nothing wrong with pastry itself. Please let this be my last desserts if I had my way!

This place is a gem! 💎 Delicious Vegan eats and an abundance of options. We had the Vegan meatball sub which was superb, and the pizza baguette was tasty. The Bombay Chai Tea Latte was the best latte I have ever had. It was smooth, full of flavour and just the right amount of sweetness. My partner had the Matcha Green Tea Latte and it was super creamy, apparently the froth to tea ratio was A1. Last but not least, we also had the Tiramisu cheesecake and it was decadent. A must visit for delicious vegan treats! 😋👌

Great vegan food!! Not only the baked goods are delicious but also the savory foods. Like the "meatball" sub, or the "tuna" sandwich, or the "ham & cheese" croissant. They are all so so good. The baked goods are incredible. Turnovers, muffins, cupcakes and "cheesecakes" are such a treat! It's nice to go somewhere if you're vegan and be sure everything there is indeed vegan. But, the food is good and I'd recommend it to non-vegans too. Why not right?! They also have a nice espresso machine and make great coffee and lattes (oat lattes). Decor and ambiance wise, it's such a cozy little place. Beautifully decorated and nice place to sit and enjoy some great food and conversation. I'll definitely be returning.

I will travel far and wide just to get my cake from here! Worth it. The strawberry shortcake is to die for!! It even impresses my entire non vegan family and they asked for seconds. Everything I’ve had from here from sweet to savoury is so yummy. 11/10 recommend.

After living in the area and driving by this place for over 10 years I finally decided to give this place a try. Everything here is absolutely incredible. I literally want to try everything. And most of the baked good you can’t even tell that they are vegan. They have a nice cozy space inside to sit down and they also have a fridge that includes many none baked vegan products for purchase such as frozen foods. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

What a lovely heaven for vegans and vegetarians! Pastries, non-pastaries, everything is so delicately displayed and served. It's worth going out of your way if you're not in the area to get a real taste of it.

I got a cake for a vegan relative's birthday. The taste was decent considering it was a vegan cheesecake - i.e. without milk or eggs. Albeit having a texture more akin to "mousse cake" or some sort of "flan". The issue is the price was outrageous. $95 for a 10 inch cake. I would have been comfortable paying $50 maximum for such a cake.

So happy beyond belief to have found this place! The sweets are absolutely yummy and they are safe for families with various food allergies, like eggs and tree nuts. We loved our chocolate angel cake and we will definitely be regulars here 👍🏽

Love the pastries here! Top tier flakiness and so delicious. The ice cream is also solid. Great menu for vegans and non-vegans alike! The service is also fantastic. Always greeted by a smile and helpful staff who make great recommendations. Bonus anecdote: When their ice cream machine was acting up and the cone came out just a little bit messy, they gave us a second one free. Love that!

Everything here is excellent! My personal favourites are the tiramisu cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, and the Boston cream croissant. The carrot cake, danishes, turnovers, and brownies are all really tasty as well. I got a whole blueberry cheesecake for my birthday and everybody who tried it (non-vegans) loved it!

I purchased this phenomenal black forest cake for my son's birthday! The cake is authentic with taste, texture, and appearance. The service was excellent, and the cake is exceptional.

This place is part of heaven. The classical music gives you the mood of relaxation, and the smell of fresh vegan bakery gives you the feeling that you always wait for. The people are so nice and everything is smooth.

I ordered the strawberry shortcake and it was delicious! To me, the whipped cream did taste like almond milk but I think most folks wouldn't know it was vegan unless you told them! Family loved it too. The chocolate plaque was hella sugary (and not as rigid as normal dark chocolate) but who buys the cake for that lmao. Would 100% order from here again 😊💕💕

As you enter it feels like you have entered a mid century European bakery, the aesthetic just take your breathe away. The taste is out of this world , the tiramisu sundae , crossiant , what’s not to fall in love with this place . would definitely recommend .11/10 ❤️

First time trying a vegan cake given the high number of favourable reviews. Ordered the 5-inch Strawberry Layer Cake for a birthday, but was quite disappointed. The presentation was nice: it had the normal translucent plastic that lets you see through the cake layers filled with strawberry and custard. It looked pretty delicious! However, on the first bite we noticed how overly sweet the cake was. We had first thought there must have been too much syrup or something on the strawberries but it was definitely the cake itself. The middle and bottom of the cake was also so soggy that in cutting and lifting the slice, the entire bottom was dismantled. The strawberries were so mushy that my family thought the strawberries were cherries. We all agreed that this cake definitely didn't taste fresh....maybe at least a day old? To be fair, it could have just been this cake specifically.

We have been ordering our birthday cakes here for numerous years. We love the work and most importantly the taste. Some people can't even believe it's vegan. So delicious! Also all of their pastries are delicious. Must try!! Thank you for always making our cakes for our special days. Beyond 5 stars!!!

I've been to a lot of vegan bakeries in the GTA, but this is by far my favourite. They have a surprising variety, and I always have a hard time deciding what to try next. Though I'd give 5 stars for the croissants alone! Not only is this one of the few places with vegan croissants, but they also come in a range of flavours - regular, chocolate, almond, cheese, etc. The cheesecake and pastries are also incredible. Besides the obvious desserts, they have a lunch menu with savoury options. All of the soups and sandwiches are delicious! The pea soup, ham and cheese croissant, and Danish Pâté sandwich are some of my personal favourites. They also have a beautiful, cozy seating area to enjoy your meal, wonderful staff, and a refrigerated section with grocery items to go. It's pricier than your average bakery, but reasonable considering the absence of animal products. Not to mention the fact that their products taste just as good as, and in some cases actually better, than the non-vegan versions. The quality is worth the price, and the location is worth the trip if you're not in the area. Highly recommend to vegans and omnivores alike!

Vegan Danish Bakery is a hidden treasure of York Region and close to the GTA for those on the north end. A very cute brunch date spot with a gorgeous interior design. They're serious about coffee as you'll be able to tell by their giant espresso machine behind the counter and offer several milk-alternative latte offerings as well. I'm not vegan by any means, but after you visit this place, you'll realize that doesn't matter. Hands down the best cupcakes I've ever had. Waffles? Also fantastic. Any baked good in the building? Incredible. Seriously, this is one of the few places I will label as a show stopper for certain baked goods.

Have had their birthday chocolate cakes for the past 2 years and they are the best. They don't last long because we eat it up. Very glad to have this bakery. The breakfast food isn't the best in my opinion but desserts are top notch. The cheesecake I had this year was great also but chocolate cake was ultimately the best. Definitely give it a go..a bit pricey but once or twice a year not bad for the best quality and quantity, they are very filling cakes per slice.

Heard many nice words and passed by many times till finally had a reason to check - and was astonished with a variety of pastries!! I always thought that vegan options are limited for baking which they proved absolutely wrong.. additional 5 stars for customers service and ambiance inside - flowers, cleanliness, décor and if you add subtle jazz music and extend your summer hours even an hour longer - I will be your frequent client! Believe some others will do the same!

Love them so much! All these 4 years we're here in GTA. We moved 3 times. Now living 13 km from this cafe. But still come here every time we have time for rest (we're parents of 3 😁). Best tasted vegan cupcakes, cakes (all the Birthdays celebrate with them), coffee and hot chocolate!!! Soups and sandwiches. 'Meat' Ball Sub is really perfect and is enough to fuel my body! Thank you very much, Vegan Danish Bakery. Love you 😍😍😍😍

Vegan bakery with incredible fresh desserts and baked goods! As someone who struggles to find dairy free products, I really extra appreciate this place. If no one told me it was vegan, I would have never known. The tart was really exceptional. I can’t wait to come back! My only note is be prepared for longer wait times.

Where do I even begin? This place has the best vegan deserts ever. They have the best vegan cheesecake I’ve ever tried. Even my non vegan family members love it here!

Always a treat eating here. Such delicious vegan food and great service, as always. We can't help but get a lot of desserts haha. Their expanded area is great, as we were a relatively big group - 7 people. We had ample space to sit and enjoy my 3 year old's birthday festivities with family.

I can’t believe it took me so long to visit this lovely bakery and cafe! We tried the bagel with cream cheese, ham and cheese croissant, raspberry turnover, almond croissant, Boston cream croissant, and a lemon cupcake. Everything we tried was quite good, though I’ll admit I was slightly disappointed by the cupcake and the bagel (the cupcake was a lot denser than I hoped for, and the bagel didn’t seem house made). The standout items were the flaky pastries. The Boston cream croissant is one of the best vegan desserts/sweets I have ever had— it is a MUST try. The turnover and croissants were also very tasty. I think this is what VDB does best— the flaky pastries! I hope to try their danishes one day, as they didn’t have it when I visited. The service was also fabulous. The woman helping us was very patient and helpful as we made our selections. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Can't go wrong with any choice at this amazing place. Delicious baked goods and fantastic ice cream... all vegan. Lots of gluten free options too. Great service. Highly recommend!

The Cupcake was delicious and the almond croissant was light and perfect. Also tried the vegan hot chocolate which tasted like regular hot chocolate but without the animal by products. Four star just because it was a bit expensive, but then again good eats are not cheap. Def going again!

Tried their pastries today. Grest taste and flavours. You can't tell it's vegan at all! The staff was very welcoming and helpful

Wonderful kind owners and staff. Friendly service. I have known for 50 years that food when chosen and prepared great and the chef knows what they’re doing is always delicious, vegetarian (if you choose the dairy farms, when dairy included, that manufacture the dairy products cruelty free) or vegan, and the fact that it is horror and cruelty free makes it utterly appreciated, enjoyable and fulfilling. Everything I have tried here so far is scrumptious! Thank you!

I just love this place! Food, pastries, coffee, and the environment were incredibly good. I enjoyed it immensely. This bakery became one of my favorites and for sure, I’ll go there whenever I’m in Toronto.

We were on a lookout for a good vegan nut free cake our kids birthday and tried vegan nut free cupcakes etc at various places and we were disappointed. Finally, we reached here and the bakery seemed so cozy and the lady was calm and friendly and the cakes they had were not only amazing but the best value for money. We ordered a cheesecake and the light double chocolate cake and received the cake on time and the lady made the icing and color to suit our theme and it tasted delicious (almost heavenly). Both were so fluffy and savoury even days after the celebration. The light double chocolate was one of the best cake I’ve ever had. Now I like vegan cake more than regular cake lol. Don’t follow the hype train. Cakes here are better than you get in downtown. Will definitely visit many more times.
