I've given this restaurant multiple five-star reviews after today I'm changing them to one star. My wife has severe allergies and has always enjoyed their food so tonight she ordered her usual favorite meal minus the allergens that often irritate her at other restaurants. She has a severe allergy to dairy and so requested that her meal not contained dairy. When I went to pick up the food they had clearly forgotten to place the order and rushed to make the order...No big deal. When they brought the order out the container was clearly not marked as "no dairy" as it always is and the ticket did not say "no dairy". I asked the gentleman if there was dairy in there and he said "oh clearly this was made with dairy I'll go make you another one" this was now approaching an hour after the original order. He returned shortly with the same container now with "no dairy" written on the top and assured me that he had "removed" the dairy. When I challenged him on how dairy would be removed from a dish I was told that it was actually made with no dairy and they had just forgot to write it on the container even though it was not included on the ticket. I explain the severity of lying or being mistaken and I was told that's all they could do. Food went in the trash after determining it wasn't safe to eat. Apparently customer safety and long-term loyalty is not a big deal for this institution. I would find it hard to go back.

My wife and I are foodies! And I cook Indian food at home. But my food can't come anywhere close to the food in this restaurant. The food was absolutely mouth-watering excellent. It was not overwhelming not overspice, perfect blend of sweet sour and cream sauces. Great balance of textures and flavors. And the service was excellent. You couldn't ask for more. Absolutely love this place I can't wait to go back

In love with this place. Best Indian food in the area in my opinion. Will almost always chose this place when I want something that I can be sure will delicious when im in Southlands. Whenever I'm here I'm tempted by every single dish I see on other tables. Definitely want to try the whole menu at some point. Those vegetable Samosas are TO DIE FOR. My favorite Samosas out of any Indian food location. 5 stars all day long. DELICIOUS.

First time here! The service was the absolute best. Walking in we were greeted of course, asked our preferred seating options, the staff walking by greeted us, multiple people checked in our drinks and cleared dishes. The server Leeander was amazing. If the food was terrible, I’d still go back just for him. He educated us on options, he tended well, and brought fresh rice for our Togo bag leftovers. He’s the best! His genuine demeanor and gentle touch was just prefect. As for the food, we eased in but flavors were amazing! Restaurant was clean with a sleek design. The black uniforms just confirm the crisp environment. Loved everything.

I’ve been here on two different occasions once back in 2021 and now today again it’s just as delicious and spicy as the first time I remember it, I always grab mango lassi it’s the best mango lassi in aurora! Good prices and friendly service, been open since 2013. Very good food establishment. Will be back. Garlic naan to die for.

We enjoyed lunch at Monsoon on a cold winter afternoon in February 2021. The food was outstanding! We began with Garlic Nan. My wife absolutely loved the Nutty Korma, and I enjoyed the Monsoon Tikka. Everything was fantastic! We’d already started eating when I grabbed these photos. There was a lot more in the order of the garlic Nan than I show here. We brought home about half of our main courses to enjoy later tonight. Thanks to our waiter Ajay for some extra rice and masala sauce. I felt like I splurged a bit to go to this restaurant for lunch, but it was worth it! We’ve been locked up too long because of Covid19, and this was a treat!

The best Indian food I ate after several years! Travelled from Houston to Denver and this restaurant was our first stop! So glad we chose this place. Really enjoyed every bite of food, from Samosa to Biryani! Soooo good. Not only delicious but also presented very nicely in the dishes. I wish we had Indian restaurants like this in Katy/ Houston.

We had the best waiter ever, Keishawn! He was so attentive, friendly, and got our food out so quickly! He even got us a free dessert and brought my husband out a new meal when he ended up not liking the taste of the lamb (personal preference only). Probably best tikki masala I’ve ever had. And I would eat their garlic cheese naan bread until I had to be hospitalized. We will be going here a lot!

If you're looking for amazing indian food, look no further. The food here is INCREDIBLE. Their menu isn't overwhelming and their staff is polite and knowledge. I haven't left yet and I can't wait to come back.

I had heard a-lot of great reviews about Monsoon and my first experience wasn’t too bad but i had to visit second time to be sure. The food was done well, but quantity of entrees you get here is very less. Paneer Tikka wasn’t as great. Baingan was done well and much better than paneer tikka. Naan was not baked completely so felt like chewing into raw half cooked flour. Ambience was great. Coming to the price, i believe there are better restaurants around with more food, better taste and much lesser price per head.

First just trying to get into this restaurant was a mess. Their front door faces north and outside was super slick with ice and slush. There was no salt down to stop people from slipping. Then once we got inside they didn't have menus, just QR codes that not all phones can read. The guy did help me get to their website, and that was when we discovered that they were way over priced. Most other Indian restaurants you can get food for $10-15, but this place had most of their dishes at $17 and up. We decided to just go elsewhere. Bad experience all around.

It had been ages since i had real Indian food. It was really great. They do not use food coloring and the taste is really good and the fact that they use an actual coal tandoor to make the chicken tandoori was the cherry on the cake

We love the food here. It’s a bit expensive for Indian food, but a great place to eat and one of the best places this side of Aurora.

Great place! Amazingly delicious food! Great and friendly staff! Every single thing my friend and I ordered was delicious! The staff and the owner are extremely friendly! Eating here felt like I was eating at a friend’s house! Every time I’m in town, I will eat here!

We received their flyer in the mail, offering 20 pieces of baked bbq chicken wings for $20, saying "your new favorite wings", so we called and placed an order. I arrived in their parking lot and pow!, a worker came out the door and asked for our name, then made another round trip and brought us our order. Great service. But when we got it home and started eating, we were greatly disappointed. Right away, we both thought the dish was undercooked. On top of that, it appeared that they had just baked the wings, then put an out of the jar bbq sauce on top of it at the end. We think the wings weren't marinated at all since the meat had very little flavor. The taste of the bbq sauce was quite underwhelming. We're taking all the remaining 16 pieces, marinating them overnight, then we'll re-bake it for lunch tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be a total loss. Perhaps their Indian food is great shakes, but their bbq wings are quite disappointing.

Incredible food, awesome service - two different employees (Preet and Ajay) reached out to ensure that my order was properly fulfilled after a particularly hectic and last minute situation. Will definitely be reaching out to Monsoon again for any kind of catering needs! The mattar paneer was tasty, both the veg and chicken biryanis were wonderfully prepared. Had more than enough to go around.

I'm writing this review after having been to Monsoon's for at least 3 years now. I'm an Xgen'r and a little slow to writing reviews. Anyway, I wanted to take a moment to write this review because in my travels over the last 3 years I have yet to find a better Indian food restaurant in SF, LA, NY or Chicago. The food is diving and the wait staff is very good given their youth.

This place never disappoints! We love coming here. It’s expanded and always seems to fill up still. Prices are reasonable and some dishes could be easily shared. Yum!

Upscale, modern, Indian restaurant with a bar, facilities were very clean. I was skeptical at first as the place was run mostly by non-Indian employees but the food was presented well and delicious, definitely great quality Indian food.

The food was excellent but google is wrong, it is not dine in. You can go to the nearby brewery & have it delivered though. Also, go to their app to see their full menu.

  • 5/5 Paula A. 3 years ago on Google
At first I was taken aback from the lack of sauce/cream, but realized later that the curries are more oil & spice based, so a little goes a long way. The flavor was just as robust, if not more. Also, the delivery arrived in half the time estimated by the yelp app (grub hub). Will try again next time I'm down there.

Monsoon says its traditional Indian food but I would say its a contemporary take on Indian dishes. And their take on it is amazing! Great food and neat atmosphere. Give it a try and I feel confident you'll love it!

  • 5/5 Matt H. 3 years ago on Google
Not enough stars to rate Monsoon, always high quality, always fresh. And no drop-off in quality if you get pickup/curbside service. Highly recommended. It is a gem amongst the otherwise typically generic and boring suburban chain offerings around Southlands.

A treasure. We had an errand in the area and wanted to try something different. The samosas as an appetizer were well prepared. We enjoyed 3 types of naan bread, the tandoori chicken and the Tour if Tandoori. Blissful food coma. Everything is cooked fresh and the tandoori ovens give the food that extra flavor. It may be a 45 minute drive...but this Monsoon is on our favorite list.

  • 5/5 Constance E. 3 years ago on Google
Delicious authentically prepared dishes. The lamb samosas, served with three different fresh chutneys, were among the best we've ever had; and the mixed biryani and lamb saag were seasoned perfectly to order. Staff is friendly and provides just the right amount of attentiveness for a pleasant dining experience. State mandated safety measures currently being followed. Thanks for helping us celebrate a fantastic Father's Day. You made us feel like family. We'll be back! :)

Put in an order thru doordash. We were told the time for PICKUP...would be 605pm. Then we got an update to 615pm. Then to 645pm. Here it is 7pm and the restaurant says they are not even sure they have our order.

Picked up some food yesterday 4/15 it was my first time having Indian food very spicy and very good definitely will be going once this quarantine is over highly recommend it.

  • 2/5 Madeline H. 4 years ago on Google
Maybe I went on an off day, but the chicken was DRY, and there is nothing worse than dry chicken. Beside improper cooking, the food lacked overall flavor. My masala sauce was oily rather than creamy, the naan was unimpressive, my dish was not even spicy... And the tandoori oven entree did not come with a vegetable medley like many Indian restaurants. Why pay 16 for dry, poorly seasoned chicken and worthless masala sauce? If you want good Indian food, plenty of worthy spice, and PERFECTLY cooked chicken go to Zaika in Broomfield. The whole staff at Zaika in Broomfield is Indian and they obviously know how to cook authentic Indian food... Just saying. Zaika also offers amazing lunch specials. TRUST me, you will NOT be disappointed. Entree, rice, naan, side soup or salad, and a drink for under 15 dollars... DO IT.

This is consistently my favorite Indian place in Colorado. Everything I’ve tried has tasted fantastic and despite my best judgment I can’t say no to the naan, it’s amazing. If you enjoy Indian food look no further

  • 5/5 Tom F. 4 years ago on Google
Very well spiced and flavored cuisine. Their naan is tasty and goes well with masala. Curry, korma, tandoori , and vindaloo all taste great. Try the spicy wings for a starter if you like hot hot. Best to go on a week night as this place fills up on weekends and parking is tough then.

I ordered an hour before they closed and asked for my tikka masala to be spicy, since it's usually not as spicy as I would like. I love how subtle they made it without compromising the original taste, absolutely perfect! I might even go spicier next time for that extra kick. We used to dine in occasionally, but have been enjoying their amazingly quick service through delivery. I couldn't recommend this place enough, the delivery drivers are courteous and make sure you know what they're handing to you. Quick, professional, delicious option for your late night dinner! Thank you for taking care of us during this unsure time!

Stopped in for lunch while visiting our son in Aurora. Being from a state that's not doing so well with following covid guidelines, I was very happy to see the steps being taken to keep patrons safe here. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic. Thank you!

  • 5/5 Evelin K. 3 years ago on Google
Just wow, wow, wow. I love Indian food in general, but this place beats them all. I ordered for pick up, the portions were generous size, had leftovers for the next day. I orderd samosa minis, lamb korma, which was just so delicious , honestly the best. Only suggestion, to have something authentic but not spicy for kids, as the chicken appetizer, forgot the name, was still spicy for my kid.

Ohh I really like this spot! I guess they remodeled the interior but this is my first time actually going in, that said it's pretty classy. Good food, good atmosphere, great service. This is definitely a place I recommend!

  • 5/5 Shannah W. 3 years ago on Google
Literally THE BEST Indian food I've ever had. The only complaint I have is every time I have been, our waiters are all very awkward but they still get my order correct and out fast! I love their chicken masala and their specialty naan. The specialty naan has cilantro, garlic and cheese on it and it is the best naan I have ever had. I do think the prices are very high/pricey especially for the portion sizes. The portions are fairly small so there's not much left for leftovers. However, they do always send you home with extra rice with your leftovers which I LOVE! I will probably keep coming here and only coming here for my Indian food cravings!

I love Monsoon and eat here regularly. The sauces are definitely heavy on the cream but to me, that's not a bad thing. My favorites are: samosa chat, vegetable pakora, saag paneer, mattar paneer, and korma (shrimp or lamb), and ras-malai. We are lucky there are several good Indian restaurants in our area (unlike most cuisines), but Monsoon is my favorite.

  • 5/5 Tony R. 3 years ago on Google
Great atmosphere, helpful and friendly server along with excellent food. Great flavors and attention to the details shined through in the well platted dishes. Portions are a good size and priced fairly. I am looking forward to returning and trying a different dish. The chicken vindaloo I had this visit was one of the best I have ever had. I like my food spicy and I ordered the extra spicy, it was enough to make my head sweat and noise run but not melt your face off. Again I was very happy with the heat level. The Mini samosas are delicious and the lentil soup with the buttery naan bread very tasty. We will be heading back as soon as we can dine indoors again.

Food was really good taste. Best I had so far in Denver . Kababs were well cooked and sides made it more delicious. Service was really good . Passionate servers. Some feedback, If Naan’s are served in bamboo basket or any other basket with thick kitchen towel under , it will not make naan soggy. Portions of main dish can be little bigger. Overall nice ambiance and clean place. Social distances were practiced well. Regular bar. Monsoon kababs were delicious. Spicy level was well under control.

Good Indian food! We've eaten here many times and are never disappointed. The food is delicious and the portions are fairly good. It is still a little pricey, but I think it's worth it. The food can be custom made to your spice level and the levels are fairly predictable.

What can I say that is different from other 5-star reviews? The only reason I still try other Indian places is the cost at Monsoon. I know Indian food can be found for cheaper (except Lamb) because Monsoon is on the higher side. But in this case the old adage, "you get what you pay for" could not be more true. High quality all the time. Now I do consider it Fusion (specifically the appetizer options) BUT it has the authentic taste - to me the best of both worlds. Many menu options!

I never ate much Indian food until trying Monsoon on a co-worker’s advice. I now regularly crave their Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan. My only complaint was the tight quarters, but they have since expanded and updated. Help support this local small business while treating yourself to Indian food so good it may expand your palate as it did mine.

Hands down best Indian in Aurora, maybe even Metro Denver. Selection is great, quality is amazing. Worth the drive to pick up if its out of your way (and delivery is usually slow, so worth the drive in that case too). Bonus points for food coming in more eco friendly containers as well

One of our top 2 Indian food restaurants in Denver area. Food and drinks are always fantastic. We have met the owner, and talked to our friends that know the owner better, they shared his dedication to fresh, quality ingredients. We've tried other closer places, but Monsoon is still worth the extra drive.

We first came to Monsoon about a month ago and have been back every week since. The food is delicious, plentiful, with great side sauces. The staff is great. They're so friendly and polite and competent. We got take out and they check the order before you go in case something is missing. The guys behind the bar are great!

Wow!!! This place is fantastic!! We have ordered delivery from them a dozen times or more! Every time they are delicious, hot, and large portions!! In side, the service, which we have enjoyed many times as well, is amazing and friendly, and they were very friendly to our baby as well! :) I can’t recommend their food enough!

Had the Indian dinner a couple of weeks back when we strolling around the Southlands Malls area. The ambiance is quite alright at that time, not many Indian vibes inside it’s more blended American restaurant vibes. We ordered Chicken Tandoori which is chicken in boned and served dry marinated and sauce on the side with race at the same time. My wife ordered lamb tandoori kebab which is alright and I would say Turkish restaurant might have better flavors and presentation. We love garlic naan, mango lassi, and samosas. The server was pretty attentive but he forget to bring a small spoon for our little daughter and forget to bring paper napkins for us. He is nice and kept checking on us but he kept forgetting to bring things that we requested. I understand coming from NYC with more authentic and decent prices like moms and pops shops compared with the restaurant here in Aurora, CO. We’ve had a better one but we would like to open our minds to try something different especially with not much selection in the area.

great atmosphere, great food. the veggie pakoras were great, especially with their mint chutney. then we ordered family style and got saag paneer, korma lamb and masala shrimp! portions were a lil on the small side, but the flavor made up for it! especially the lamb, I'm not a huge lamb person but monsoon lamb is divine. my non gf friends liked the speciality naan too.

Service was great! I don't know Indian well enough to comment on quality of dishes, but we enjoyed it. The Fiery wings really are fiery! We eat spicy food pretty regularly; so don't order this if you like your heat medium, these are definitely in the hot category! Quite a few notches above the vindaloo. Some dishes can be vegan.

So, so good! Smells amazing right when you walk in. Extensive menu, including lots of vegetarian options. Loved every item we ordered and took advantage of the full bar with happy hour specials. The service was warm and personal. Truly the best overall dining experience we've had in a very long time.

Visited TWICE while staying in Aurora for short trip(4days). I re-visited because their food was so good on my first day in Aurora, and could not forget the good memory in the restaurant. Good food and nice customer service makes the restaurant special and I do appreciate I was able to feel it here. I really wish I can find the same quality of food in my town as well. Their chicken tikka masala is so good so as the butter naan. If you like Indian food and Chicken tikka masala, PLEASE try here !! I would rate 10 out of 5😀

Do you like Indian food? Then come here and have your mind blown. What shocked me more than anything here were the absolutely insane food portions; at first, $17 may seem like a bit on the pricier side for an entree, but once it comes to the table you'll find out why. I received a plate that could easily feed me 3 times over - I have never received a bigger single entree at a restaurant in my life. Definitely encourage sharing entrees here! As for the food, it was absolutely wonderful. It is absolutely flavor packed in every single bite, and even though there's so much to go through you will never get sick of it. My pictures cannot do the food justice; you've got to come here yourself and see what I mean. As a bonus, the food holds up surprisingly well in the fridge and makes for great leftovers. Get the cheese naan!

Went there on a weekend around 2 PM and it was not too busy. Was greeted and asked to sit after scanning the QR code for menu. Ordered mini samosa as appetizer and was disappointed as it was not samosa ( and on top of that served with gravy used for panner items and not with mint or tamarind chutneys). Asked the server and he was like , chef has created this for ppl who cannot handle spices( so a made up item which has nothing to do with Indian samosas). The only other veg appetizer option was samosa chat and ordered it. It was presented beautifully and the taste was also ok ( not bland but very low on spices). For main course orders panner Khurchan ( which was nowhere to what panner khurchan is but more towards kadhayi panner) and dal makhani ( tasted great and was authentic indian). Ordered butter and garlic naan and was pleasantly surprised to see the size ( 1 naan was almost the size of 2 if compared to other Indian restaurants). Overall it was an ok affair. Pros: Quick service Attentive and friendly staff. Restaurant is clean and has good vibes. Cons: Nothing in particular but won’t say it has the authentic items or taste.

The food is great here, only slight downside is the service. I've came here several times and the service is lacking with having to wait a exorbitant amount of time to order and pay and you see the servers/waiters talking and laughing in the corner. Had a server ask our table of 6 if we would stack all the plates for him as he watched us gather everything on the table. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. Other then somewhat bad service food is worth going for.

I’d give 100 stars if I could! The restaurant is basically spotless, the bathrooms are clean and smell good, and the food was amazing. Even better than all of that was the service- my husband ordered a tea, and the waiter asked if he wanted chai or regular tea. He said regular tea, so the waiter brought that, then a minute later brought some chai for him to try….for free. Our waiter was quick on service and nice to talk to. We also had another waiter bring us drink refills, which I thought was nice since he wasn’t in charge of our table and didn’t have to do that. Over all, 100/5 stars, and I will absolutely be back!

I got the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and mango lassi. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The garlic naan was probably my favorite garlic naan I’ve ever had. It had a great garlic flavor and great texture. The mango lassi was good, a little too tart for my liking. The chicken tikka masala was delicious. Great flavor. My one complaint would be the ambience/atmosphere was stale. I’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants and this one seemed to have no theming or charm to it whatsoever. Ultimately I go to restaurants for the food and the food was great, but I think this place could use a little more warmth in the design of it.

"Despite my previous lack of enthusiasm for Indian cuisine, I've been completely converted by this wonderful restaurant. Every dish I've tasted has exceeded my expectations, leaving me awestruck by the depth of flavor and the exquisite balance of spices. In addition to their meat and seafood dishes, they offer a wide variety of vegan options that are equally delicious. Even their naan bread, which can be ordered without butter, is a treat in itself - fluffy and fragrant, with a satisfying chewiness that perfectly complements the curries. The staff here are truly exceptional, always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and catered to. They're quick to offer recommendations and answer any questions we have, and their warmth and friendliness make us feel like valued guests. On the rare occasion when service is slow, they're quick to refill our wine glasses and make sure we're comfortable. Overall, this restaurant is a true gem and I can't recommend it highly enough."
