I was hoping for a relaxing stay after the stress of pandemic times and a year of long days of physically demanding work. What I found with Eric and Mel was a beautiful welcome in a truly gorgeous oasis that they lovingly created on the property. Set within the tall trees of the Eastern Townships they recently groomed some little trails in the woods and installed directional signs to show you the way around but to make you smile as well. While the birds chirped their songs the frogs in the pond croaked their stories. Floating around on their beloved Lolypop (the giant water lounger) I let go of the control that served me in the city to truly relax. That was a great gift in itself. I believe I was able to do that because of how welcome and comfortable I was made to feel by these genuine people. I also took the time to use the meditation deck and try out the singing bowls. Mel made sure to explain why one worked for me while others didn’t. I also read in a comfy hammock and toasted marshmallows one evening with the duo who offered some company. We got to know each other, shared songs we loved, and after dark enjoyed the fairy lights, twinkling stars and glow of the active fireflies. I had prepared food at home to bring and warm, but also used the kitchen toaster oven for morning toast, kettle for my tea, and the two burner stove plate to cook up some tasty omelettes. The mini fridge was plenty of space for me but they also have a full fridge to fill if needed. I ate outside by the pond a few times as the seats have nice roomy armrests that fit my plate and the bugs didn’t really bother me. The bed in the Hummingbird room is firm and very comfortable, with extra blankets available; I used one to get cozy since even on these really hot days this lowest level of the house is super cool. No A/C needed here. The shower is so roomy, gets nice and hot, and pressure is perfect. And when I thought things couldn’t get any better I found out that Melanie offers massage with an Osteopathic approach since that’s what she’s finishing up her studies to do. I took full advantage of her expertise and time to get on a new road to healing years of life and sports injuries. I will most definitely return for everything this stay blessed me with. Thank you more than words can say, Eric & Mel.

100/100!!! You will not regret if you chose to stay here. We spent only a night but we were able to do stargazing during the night and spent a nice morning near the pond just next to the house. Mel and Eric are very warm and welcoming and they made us feel like home! Very clean and comfortable room. Will definitely come back:)

The Hummingbird room at Eric & Mel’s place is very stylish, cozy and clean. It had everything we needed for a calming getaway from the city. The retreat itself is very quiet and beautiful. Sitting by the pond in the back was very relaxing. Although we did not make use of it, the option to sit by an outdoor fire is very welcome indeed. The Mansonville/Potton area is quite beautiful in its hilly landscapes. If our stay was not scheduled during the thaw period (check trail websites prior), we would have been able to hike a few trails. Mansonville itself is a quaint little town with a few interesting businesses to visit. Spa Bolton is just a short drive away and, with its waterfall and river-dunking experience is well worth the visit. All in all, the Couple’s Retreat is a great place to stay and Eric & Mel are sure to make you feel welcome!

We had a great stay at Eric and Mel’s in the Hummingbird room. Place was clean and we slept very well. Bathroom was en-suite also which was very nice . Eric and Mel were very responsive and accommodating. There’s also a little harbour overlooking a pond on the property . We didn’t have time to take full advantage of this harbour but it looks like It’s an Amazing place to unwind and relax in the woods . Thanks again Eric and Mel!

Lovely, quiet, wooded, setting. Very comfortable bed in a unique, nicely finished, spacious room. The blackout drapes on the window were GREAT! The mini fridge and microwave are in a small foyer just outside the room itself. The room had a small table and chairs set with dinnerware, cutlery, and wine glasses. Also, there was a small, comfortable, couch in the room. We stayed one night and left pretty early in the morning for a race. There’s not really a place to “cook”, however there are restaurants very close by. We brought rice and beans and an avocado for our dinner and had overnight oats with blueberries for breakfast (along with Starbucks instant coffee) , so the microwave suited our needs just fine. The tap water is non-chlorinated and amazing for drinking! We met Eric upon our arrival and enjoyed chatting with him for a bit. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about local hiking trails! There are lots of brochures in the foyer highlighting endless activities. It was refreshing to stay in such an eco-friendly Airbnb! We would definitely stay here again in the future.

My family and I stayed at Eco Zen Retreat for Christmas and it was a wonderful stay! Despite the power failures due to weather, our hosts were generous, kind and very helpful. Thank you so much for the restful experience, we appreciate it! Sandra and Family
