It's a great hole in the wall for cocktails. Come early though if you want a seat. Yummy food bites. Dog friendly. Seasonal themes

Small neighborhood dive bar with surprisingly fun and yummy cocktails. The tiki cocktails are always a hit, but the fruity pebbles was a stand out. It does get pretty packed in the evening.

No wonder this place just won best bar in austin. We’re visiting from detroit and haven’t loved the bars downtown. We ventured a little out and discovered this gem. We’ve gone back almost every day. The bartenders are so kind and fun to chat with. The drinks are delicious and strong. The food is so delicious too! This is a bar for down to earth people. Will be missing this place when we go back home. Get the frozen Irish coffee!! 🥳❤️

Can I say this is the best place ever?!? Absolutely hands down one of the best neighborhood friendly bars in Austin! The bartenders and staff are super friendly and always willing to answer any questions. They have amazing food from the food truck and the spirits/cocktails are always superb. If there is one place to go in Austin, this place is it. I love coming by as it is always a memorable experience.

Good little joint that has the feel of a dive but with fun craft cocktails and frozen beverage delights. Good liquor selection and the food truck feeding the bar ways puts out good eats. Tater Tots, burgers, etc.

I went with expectations of good holiday cocktails, but nothing on the menu was enticing. I defaulted to an old standby and was happy with my drink. The bar is nicely decorated for the holidays to put you into the proper spirit.

The whole place is set up as Moe's for Halloween. Great night. They really put a lot of effort into it. The food truck right outside was selling Krusty burgers which were absolutely fantastic, too.

Nickel city was in the list of best cocktails places on google so went in there to give it a shot. I tried the alabama slammer from the well known section on the menu and it was really well made. Flavorful and gave me a slight buzz as I was expecting

Awesome bar with great cocktails and whiskey selections. The bartenders (Joey and Dan) are great guys who'll answer any questions you may have. I enjoyed the Irish coffee (frozen and liquid) as well the blue Hawaiian! If you like whiskey, I strongly recommend the single barrel picks, they're about ~$6/1oz, or stop by Wednesdays for 25% off 2oz pours!

Absolute must if you're visiting Austin. Dive bar feel; however, serves elevated cocktails and a surprisingly excellent selection of whiskey. Food truck on site daily serves up the typical bar food needed while enjoying multiple libations. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and friendly staff. Thanks and cheers y'all!

Dark + ancient + cheap = glorious. Bartender super on top of his game. Good crowd/vibe on Friday night. Tons of interesting drinks, and cheap non-interesting ones. Dense and heavy “sliders”, quotes because they’re big enough to qualify as a burger ✅

Went during Moe's Tavern! Do'h!!...I mean, WooHoo!! Great drink selection and got the food too - Krusty's double smash burger was great. Duffman approves! Ooo Yeah!

I have nothing bad to say about this bar. The food truck is killer, the drinks are killer, the happy hour is incredible value and the vibe is all time.

Yoooo, this place was dope! My wife loves the Simpsons so I surprised her with a date night to Nickel City (themed as Moe's Tavern). The staff was extremely helpful with helping us make drink choices. They also stayed in character which I thought was a nice touch. I can only imagine the service is just as superb on a regular night. We will be back!

The Simpsons pop up bar is nice Food was okay everything is separate fries not included. Fave drink was the coffee donut espresso martini. Subbed the bourbon for the old fashioned

Best bar in Austin. Genuine local pub, great staff, and incredible food (I'd recommend the cheese curds and sliders, or loose burger). Chilled outdoor patio area where you're bound to make a friend every time you go. If you like genuine pubs with relaxed people, Nickel City is definitely worth checking out.

Nickel City is a great bar! Highly recommend if you enjoy good whisky and relaxed atmosphere. They will make you an excellent cocktail or a shot and a beer and there’s no judgement or fuss either way. It’s a big locals spot so you know it’s good. The wings are great and they host a variety of events and features all of the time so there’s always something happening. Staff is friendly and talented too!

Nickel City is the place to go! I love this bar because it’s casual, laid back, and has great tiki drinks. Don’t forget to try the food truck they have on site. I recommend the coney dog & loose burger 🍔

The atmosphere was great, they had beautiful Christmas decorations all over the place. Me and my friend were excited to get a drink, even though it was crowded. After waiting for 10 minutes for a bartender to acknowledge us, we asked him why he was skipping us when he made drinks for people who came after us. He said he had a system of taking drink orders that didn't make any sense because we were standing right in front of him. Ended up leaving as two other bartenders had a long line of customers. Never coming back.

Nickel City is an awesome little neighborhood dive bar. They've got really fair prices on drafts 4.50 to 5.50. there's a really great food truck with sliders and other fare, including 99 cent wings on Mondays. The people in here are friendly. You can strike up a conversation pretty easily. Great place.

One of our favorite bars in the world. Great drinks, the frozen negroni is 🤌🤌🤌 not to mention the dope holiday events they put on. Most importantly, the staff are kind and wonderful at their jobs. Austin isn't exactly known for their hospitable bar tenders (avoid Casino South at all costs ) but NickelCity is basically perfect.

Great dive bar with exquisite cocktails and extensive liquor selection. They have some excellent bourbon choices for this unassuming joint. Tiki Cocktails were great, and the food options feature delicious classics like hot dogs, sliders, and onion rings, to name a few.

Recommended by a friend, Nickel City was my favorite bar to do some weekday drinking on my last trip to Austin and was definitely worth the walk from my downtown hotel (got a little liquored up and had to Uber back) No gimmicks, cheap and strong drinks, as well as a cool bartender are all that's needed. I'll definitely return on my next visit!

Fun out of the box kind of night on the East side of Austin. You can tell they spent the time & effort into naming & whipping up concoctions of food & drinks to reflect the long running legendary T.V. show, The Simpsons! If you love the show and want to feel like your drinking it up inside Moe's Tavern, grab your real life drinking buddy Barney Humble, bc this is definitely the place to go. & If you get a little hungry for bar food they have a food truck right outside the gated patio area to try out what The Simpsons cast would probably be eating. Overall, it was definitely a fun experience! Would go again. Parking wasn't the best so be prepared to walk a little.
