This doesn’t taste like southern cooking. Taste like someone who came from the northern states moved here and attempted so cook southern. IYKYK. Brought my boyfriend here to celebrate Fathers Day. We chose to come for Brunch. We ordered the Fried Chicken, Catfish, Burger. The fried chicken tasted like “liquid smoke” flavor was added to the fried chicken. It tasted like it was cooked on a smoker and then fried. The chicken wasn’t golden fried, it was dark like the grease was overused, old or needed to be changed. The catfish was also dark and didn’t have that golden fried look to it. Tasted like it was cooked in old grease also. The burger actually tasted good. The restaurant is very nice and has a fancy feel to it. The atmosphere is great. The drinks are approx $14-20.

Fixe is an upscale, modern interpretation of Southern cuisine. From the very entry, it welcomes you to a dark, rustic, yet chic and vibrant atmosphere. The interior design sets you into a mood that very few places can pull off. Perfect for a business dinner or date night. The type of place you want to have fun in your business casual attire. The food in general was awesome but not without blemishes - to a degree where I wondered what happened. The biscuits were out of this world, soft, airy with substance, and flavorful. I think they're one of the best I've ever had. Deviled eggs were pretty good as well. But then the sweet corn hush puppies weren't really sweet and the lobster pot pie came in mediocre at best. It was definitely good ingredients. But chunks of lobster just didn't play well with the rest of the pie and it just "stuck out" in my mouth. Almost like placing blueberries on a steak and calling it "Blueberry Steak". Again though, it was a tasteful pot pie. The massive disappointment came in with the pecan pie. It was hefty and substantial, which was awesome. However, there was some type of savory ingredients that felt like chewing cardboard in my mouth. At first I thought it was bacon but then it should have some flavor. Whatever it was, it ruined my taste buds. Don't get my wrong. We had a wonderful time at Fixe. I will absolutely return. It was just a tad bit off perfection.

Came to FIXE for my birthday dinner with my wife and it was MARVELOUS. The Ambience set the mood and the food was delicious (even though I like some items MORE than others). We started off with a couple of Honey Badgers (bourbon or whiskey infused with honey comb and a lemon), two of those will have you RIGHT, to toast to the evening. Then we ordered several appetizers, Salt and Pepper french fries, deviled eggs, brussel sprouts, apple kale slaw, and the biscuits were so good you would slap your momma, served with butter, strawberry preserves, and honey. For the entrees we had the pork chops w/ collard greens and 22 oz bone in Sirloin. Wanted the Pecan pie for dessert but they were out for the evening =(.

Top-notch Southern cuisine in an upscale environment. They're especially good at accommodating groups. We had 11, and the service was prompt and accurate. Saw other large groups around the restaurant. Friendly staff and high energy vibes with the open kitchen floorplan. Highly recommend the Heritage Pork Chop -- not sure I've ever ordered pork chops at a restaurant before as I'm usually not a fan. They were tender and tasty and I'd order them again without trying anything else. The biscuits live up to the hype! Order them for the whole table. A must visit in downtown Austin!

This was such a wonderful meal and dining experience. Our waiter, Elvin, was so knowledgeable on the menu items and every single one of his recommendations was on point. I was skeptical about the deviled eggs, as it is an odd appetizer choice in a restaurant, but they were so delicious and delicate in flavor. The biscuits are a MUST, do not deprive yourself of these freshly baked breads and in house made fruit preserves. My fiancee and I shared the rib eye, and it came with a Gouda fondue. I would never have thought to ruin a good rib eye with cheese, but whoever made this delightful combination proved me wrong. The pair of the light, creamy fondue and the steak was heavenly. And finally, Elvin recommended the Chocolate Truffle Cake for dessert. The cake was rich and bitter which balanced the salty sweetness of (I kid you not) pretzel caramel ice cream. I loved everything about this restaurant. Thank you to the kitchen staff, chefs, and our waiter Elvin for a beautiful meal.

We actually had a really great time, the food was well cooked and the brussels sprouts were fabulous. The ONLY reason I wouldn't rate higher was because of the public verbal lashing the chef gave to a server. It was quite uncomfortable to watch. Honestly it kind of ruined the experience.

The biscuits, hush puppies, and the pecan pie were sublime! Beet salad was truly tasty. Deviled eggs were impressively tall, but nothing to brag about. The pork chop was mid at best and the Brussels sprouts somehow managed to be both under cooked and burnt. Fried chicken was more breading than chicken and the salad that mentioned green apple and kale was 99.9% kale. The gimlet was cloyingly sweet but the margarita was good. Wasn’t my first time there and it was a repeat performance. I’d go back for dessert. All was presented beautifully.

An incredible dining experience! We had a reserved room and felt very comfortable and taken care of. Our host gave excellent recommendations and definitely made the night better with some laughs. The food was excellent and service phenomenal. We'll definitely be coming back here soon!

This restaurant has fantastic ambiance and very friendly staff. We were amazed by how good the biscuits were. Although rest of the food felt okay to me. It wasn’t bad at all, still tasty but for how expensive this place it we were expecting it to at least be better than average. The coffee and drinks were also decent. I was however really impressed with the biscuits and is something I would go back here again for. I am still giving it 4 stars because the biscuits, ambience and friendly staff deserve a good rating.

I’d never had southern food before so can’t compare it to what’s authentic or not but this place is a delight. We went in without a reservation (which is not recommended) but since we went for an early dinner the hostess was able to squeeze us in. The fixe biscuits are a MUST try!! Don’t skip that and you’ll thank me later :) our server was good, the food was good and the ambience is perfect. If in the area do give this place a try.

It's hard to think of Southern food as upscale, but Fixe does a fantastic job of taking those well-known, soulful flavors and elevating them. We stopped in before checking out a show at ACL Live and managed to catch Happy Hour which has a set of food and drinks for really affordable prices. We started with a couple of drinks, the Deviled Eggs, and Pimento Cheese. The smoked trout roe added a fun flavor to the eggs. The pimento cheese dip was fantastic! I could seriously eat a ton of that stuff. For our main course, we decided to split the Shrimp & Grits and Lobster & Crawfish Pot Pie. The shrimp were cooked to absolute perfection, not rubbery or anything. The grits were a bigger grind than I was expecting but they were really tasty. The pot pie was probably our favorite of the night. The pastry was flaky and butter and the filling was absolutely amazing. We were really happy with the amount of lobster and crawfish inside. Outside of the food, the service was fantastic. Our server was always prompt and was helpful as we made our decisions. Thanks to some of our items being on the Happy Hour menu, the overall bill for two people with 2 drinks each, 3 appetizers, and an entree was barely over $100! I look forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

Oh, where do I even begin with Fixe Southern House? The moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with exceptional service that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The staff's warmth and attentiveness made me feel like a cherished guest from the get-go. Now, let's talk ambience – it's like stepping into a Southern haven. The cozy charm and inviting atmosphere create the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel at ease, ready to indulge in a culinary journey. And speaking of indulgence, the food is nothing short of spectacular. The menu, simple yet powerful, is a testament to culinary finesse. The waitresses, armed with an extensive knowledge of every dish, guide you through a menu that's a symphony of Southern flavors. The biscuits, oh my! They almost had me declaring Fixe Southern House my new favorite spot right then and there. But then there's the pork chop, the chicken, and the salmon – each a culinary masterpiece. Choosing the best dish is a delightful dilemma because, honestly, you can't go wrong with any choice. Fixe Southern House isn't just a restaurant; it's a Southern culinary adventure that captivates your taste buds and warms your soul. If you appreciate exceptional service, a cozy atmosphere, and dishes that leave you longing for more, this is the place to be. Biscuits, pork chop, chicken, or salmon – no matter the path you choose, it's a journey well worth taking. 🍽️🌟

We had an amazing meal here. The deviled eggs were divine- especially with the hot sauce. We asked the server to surprise us with entrees and she brought a delicious pork chop and a lobster pot pie type dish. Everything was wonderful. Really good drinks from the bar too. Great service.

A really nice dining experience! Very nice ambiance, attentive waitstaff, and incredible food! We walked in with no reservation on a Sunday night and we’re seated immediately. We got the deviled eggs and biscuits to start, both were great! I got the red fish (as it’s one of the gluten free entrees - lots of them have sneaky gluten like Farro) but it was incredible! Soft flaky fish, crisped to perfection on the outside, on a bed of grits or rice. The fried chicken looked good. The pork chop is huge but also got great reviews from my family.

Great food and the biscuits are heavenly! It seems like they make the biscuits to order and they bake them just until done so the inside is soft and you have a little bit of crispiness on the outside. The drinks are well crafted and my peach cooler wasn't too boozy or too sweet, balanced. The dessert was a great note to end on. Salty, sweet, and not too heavy. We went in at around 8 and only had to wait around 15 minutes without a reservation.

Best fried chicken and the tastiest biscuits I’ve ever had. Went for dinner and the service and food were exemplary. Fixe is ideal for a date night and the prices are reasonable for a place of its caliber.

Alex, the waiter was very nice and accommodating. The food was not as hot as I like it except for the biscuits. I had to send the pork chop and greens back to reheat but it was tasty afterwards. I would have liked a little bit more flavor to the shrimp and grits but the shrimp were a nice size.

Delicious food. The Fixe biscuits were a must. We also tried the cinnamon biscuit roll which was fabulous. The brioche french toast was very good but very rich. You definitely can split this one with a friend. And the fried pollo loco biscuit was extremely tasty. Good selection of teas and coffee as well as adult beverages.

We had a great Sunday brunch here. The food was very good, especially the biscuits - best we’ve ever had!! I had The Herbivore which was good but the grits were a little bland. The fish fry was great as was the smoked trout dip. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Austin!

Simple menu but everything we had is amazing. From the butter bisque to lobster pie, and the delicious pork chop- huge! We love it! It’s one of the restaurant you can just go and never had bad meal.

Wow. Wow. Wow. The service, the staff, the ambience, the food, the drink....alll spot on! The cook with pork and it's by products, so I made sure I asked about the menu. I was offered the chicken which I had. Yummy! The chicken thighs are fried once then soaked in Buttermilk (I think) then refried. They surprised me with Buttermilk sorbet, on the house, because I don't eat pork. Who does that???? Well, FIXE does! Yummy!

Fixe was incredibly delicious. Super attentive and kind service team. Every bite was delectable! My top marks go to the biscuits and the pork chop. Would absolutely return to Fixe the next time I am in Austin, TX. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful evening out.

I’ve been here several times, both for breakfast and for dinner. The biscuits are very good - they come with a bunch of spreads that all go really well together. The pork chop and the pot pie are also amazing. Plenty of good deserts and other items on the menu as well.

Literally everything we ordered was amazing. The biscuits are a must!! The deviled eggs were just as good as Grandma's growing up. We had the pork chop, lobster & crawfish pot pie, crispy brussel sprouts, and french fries as our main course. They were all phenomenal. After such a great meal we had to get dessert. The blackberry cobbler was spot on.

Biscuits, Biscuits ❤️❤️❤️The food was delicious, the drinks were strong and so tasty. The valet guy was super kind and friendly, he knew a lot about cars. He was fast despite having lots of people waiting. The place is beautiful, definitely an Authentic Austin restaurant!!
