I’ve
already
written
about
how
Emmer
&
Rye
is
my
favourite
restaurant
in
the
country,
so
I
was
chomping
at
the
bit
to
check
out
Henbit
when
I
heard
it
opened.
They
have
a
limited
menu,
with
a
lot
of
the
items
that
are
almost
direct
copycats
of
some
E&R
staples
(like
the
short
rib
with
sweet
potato).
I
opted
for
the
pork
sando,
a
ham
&
cheese
kolache,
and
a
monster
cookie.
Let
me
start
by
saying
the
kolache
was
life-changing.
I
did
not
know
a
kolache
could
taste
like
that.
They
use
some
porchetta-like
meat
instead
of
your
standard
deli
meat,
which
really
elevated
it.
The
pork
sando
was
great,
but
the
acidity
of
the
slaw/kraut/pickled
carrots
almost
overwhelmed
the
fattiness
of
the
pork
and
chorizo,
and
the
sourdough
roll
made
it
difficult
to
eat
the
whole
thing
without
it
falling
apart.
The
monster
cookie
was
good,
but
too
similar
to
Levain/Chip
in
NYC
to
really
impress
me.
I
really
enjoyed
my
meal
here,
but
will
probably
stick
to
E&R
in
the
future
and
only
return
for
that
bomb
kolache.
