A great place for a sunset and sunrise view. The walk up to the view point actually has two ways parallely and people who have difficulty can use the path thats less strenuous to climb however its not that bad. Also once you climb up you will have a great view of the bridge, lake and glimpse of the city. You can also do jet sking if interested. There are rentals. Also once you are at the view point theres a trail if interested.Overall a good place to have a scenic view.Parking is difficult during weekends as its very crowded however lots of street parking available.

Great view, parking along street can get crowded especially around sunset but there is a lot of parking on the street. You can go up from either side of the street and can find the path easily with the amount of traffic. Trash can is located at entrance as well, please use it and keep this place pretty! Be sure to explore around once you get to the top! Enjoy and be safe!

Very good view point from the overlook. Guess there was a photographer's reunion, had like close to 6-7 people with professional cameras in this place and add three drones including mine :). Might be good to visit before sunset and then take the sunset view.

Super photogenic bridge over the Colorado River. There is an overlook available just above on the north side. Parking is available on the southbound side just before the bridge. The bridge doesn't have lights along the trusses but the area is always pretty. Don't go during rush hour as traffic gets very bad.

The bridge is beautiful, don't get me wrong but the problem with this place is that it is apparently a known place by police that cars get broken into after sunset, so if you are planning on coming here do not leave anything of value and honestly leave your window open just in case. Luckily we had nothing of value but it just made this experience a little bitter!

Amazingly beautiful cove here next to the clearest and cleanest water ive seen outside of my bathtub, I love Barton Springs- but when I don't want to get run over by goofy heavy clutz-s of dogs; I come here to unwind and peace of mind

There’s a small trail to climb up a hilltop where visitors are allowed to see the magnificent bridge and the lake overview. Parking is on the side of the road and free but may get busy with lot of visitors. Kids have to be little carefully as there is no ropes to safeguard them. The hike itself is not that complicated and can have fun time on the hilltop.

Amazing Austin landmark that I recommend to anyone and everyone visiting us. It has stood the test of time and is iconic Austin. I love driving through it on a bike or my car and would go off to the hill to get a view or go down to the boat ramp for a view from the bottom of from the lake on a boat. Definitely check it out.

One of the best landmark in Austin. The north overlook provides a spectacular panorama of the bridge, Austin's skyline, Colorado River. Must go during sunset for best views.

The place has amazing sunrise/sunset views. The viewpoint has a trail which leads to multiple points to view the sunset/sunrise. People fly drones here all the time and the view is worth is. No dedicated parking.

***UPDATE***9.29.2023 Travis County has decided in all their infinite wisdom to only allow people who have boats or a water craft in the area under the bridge. There used to be benches and such where everyone could enjoy the lake. A nice Park Ranger came along, because I went there before the county employees arrived and noticed my Handicap Placard in my window and said there were parking spaces for handicapped people, and even moved a cone and allowed me to park there. But the next time I went, I was approached by a smart mouthed young girl who commenced to tell me that I knew I wasn't supposed to be there. I chewed her out for what she said to me and I told her what the Park Ranger told me. She also argued that point. I did call and speak to her supervisor, but the supervisor told me that the Park Ranger was wrong, and that they only allow boats and not pedestrians for safety reasons. There are pedestrians all over the place anyways getting on and off boats! SERIOUSLY TRAVIS COUNTY! THE LAKE BELONGS TO EVERYONE!!! The Travis County supervisor also advised me that soon they will be tearing up the area for construction! LEAVE THE AREA ALONE! IT IS FINE, AND YOUR JUST TRYING TO MAKE MORE ROOM FOR MORE BOATS AND MAKE MORE MONEY Love it! I drive my dog across the bridge and enjoy the view myself!

This is wonderful landscape. Pennybacker Bridge connects the northern and southern sections of the Loop 360 highway, also known as the "Capital of Texas Highway." on the Austin Lake. The landscape of the hill which seen the bridge like the marriage ring on the lake is amazing. You should see that.

I highly recommend visiting the Pennybacker Bridge for breathtaking sunsets in Austin. Designed by Percy Pennybacker Jr. and opened in 1982, this cable-supported bridge offers stunning views. With a 1150-foot length and a 600-foot central arched span, it's an architectural marvel. The north overlook provides a spectacular panorama of the bridge, Austin's skyline, Colorado River, Lake Austin, and the hill country. Parking can be a challenge during sunset, but it's worth it!

Amazing viewpoint. Must-visit place in Austin. It's a little steep to get to the point but it's not difficult. You can reach the viewpoint in 5 min from parking. Free Parking is along the road.

A very cool place to hangout. Under the bridge is a boat launch with access to the Colorada river, boat rental with ample parking. There is also a road by the boat launch from where you can take pictures of the bridge as a back drop. This is the bridge that appears on your computers windows lock screen. Cool place, apart from the summer heat this is a great location. There is also a overlook nearby, its a small climb to have a better view of the bridge.

I love this area! So many good memories by this bridge πŸŒ‰ Would recommend taking pictures before jumping on a jetski or boat because the wind might have your hair looking crazy πŸ˜‚ If you want to rent a Seadoo I would recommend my boy Mario! His Sparks are awesome! I ❀️ ATX

View from the side is pretty good and relaxing before entering you can buy some mangoes, Coconut and watermelon like that. In this summer those are pretty relaxing before going to a bit small trail. Once reached on the top view is pretty good and in evenings pics are pretty good with the environment.
