Did my research as not all parks are “pet friendly”. So we decided to stay there. We were going to have been there for 5 months but only lasted a month. Thank goodness we didn’t have to pay for the whole time upfront. When we checked in we made a point of asking where you were allowed to walk your pet. The people in the office and they were the managers told us anywhere in the park as long as you don’t go into the memorial park or onto residents areas. Oh and please pick up after your pet. Got it....most of it is common sense. All is good for the first week until one day my husband was walking our Miniature Schnauzer and a gentleman in a golf cart is driving towards him shaking a piece of paper asking had he read this. Finding out what it was he said yes (rules as to where you could walk your dog). When he told the gentleman that we had also asked at the office to make sure and told him we were told anywhere except the memorial area and residents area. This gentleman told my husband we’ll see about that. As we were going to be away for a few days we stopped at the office to let them know and also to ask again about where to walk the dog and what had happened with this gentleman. Again we were told they would check into it. When we got back about 4 days later there had been a letter sent out to everyone regarding where you could walk your pet now. Option 1 was from your unit to the dog park and back or Option 2 from your unit out of the park. Well the out of the park was fine in the daytime but in that area you didn’t want to be out when it was dark. Fine and dandy they had a canal area right beside the park but the gentleman who live right across from us was walking his dog there and it was attacked by 2 dogs. One other thing walking the dog in the park was also a great way to meet the people that lived there. People there very friendly except for one. So we spent a day and drove around Yuma to find a “pet friendlypark and we did find one. So if you don’t have a pet “Friendly Acres” is fine otherwise you may w@nt to go somewhere else.

Our plan was to be snowbirds. Neither my husband nor I want to go back home. We are making this our year-round home. The summers are HOT but everything else more than makes up for it. People 55+ loving life and having fun.

I visited a friend, who is quite happy living at Friendly Acres and has been there at least 20 years. I know my friend has been involved over the years in the many events at the community building, including line dancing lessons and community potluck meals. The park has done several improvements since the beginning of the pandemic, all of which make it a better looking park. The new Pickle Ball court seems to get plenty of use. To my knowledge, there are no rooms and no "service". As far as I know, this is a trailer park that has long-term residents and accepts some short-term RVs and 5th Wheels.

In my view, this is the best park in town. It is clean, gated and large enough to offer a wide variety of activities. The rules are sensible and the guests are generally friendly and cooperative. It's close to everything Yuma has to offer but you could never leave the park and still have a great time. It is a block away from Walmart Marketplace, and a short drive to Old Town, shopping, and the casinos. It is less than 15 miles to Los Algadones for dental & optical services. Residents ride their golf carts or take their wagons to the grocery store. The streets are paved, so you can get in a good walk without leaving the park. Pets are allowed and the rules around pets are enforced. There is a great place to let the dogs enjoy the outdoors along the canal where they can get some exercise. People are expected to be considerate and keep their pets contained, and they do. This is one of those places that really does offer great activities throughout the park as described. Dances with live music, pool, card games, pickleball, shuffle board, bocce ball, potlucks, bingo, a swimming pool and spa. I haven't yet seen the craft room, but it's there. It's really hopping during the season but the nights are quiet. The park has a lot of brand new park models that are really beautiful. The spaces are small, & well maintained. Rules are enforced and the park is staffed year round. The prices can't be beat for all the park has to offer. Most people are returning guests with trailers set in place year round. A few are year round residents. Despite its age, it has a fresh look and neat and tidy spaces. With annual lot rent at $3200, many find it more economical to park their rig year round. Year round renters are allowed to put storage units on their space. It is a good idea to have the shed approved prior to purchase. There are some size and placement restrictions. Wi-Fi is available at specific locations near the clubhouses and game rooms. Spectrum offers cable service at each site guests can purchase for cable tv and Internet service. Residents are allowed to rent out their units during the season. The office keeps a list of properties for sale and for rent and can help get you connected. For some, this is a great option but planning ahead to secure a rental is necessary. The place fills up every year. Another unique feature is the offerings range from pull through RV spaces up to single wide mobiles. People generally start with an RV and decide to keep their rig in place. Some will opt to purchase one of the beautiful park models or a single wide if they choose to become long term residents. Single wide spaces are much larger and the lot rent is higher, but still reasonably priced. In my view, this is the best park in town. The location is ideal for enjoying good restaurants, sightseeing, finding great bargains in Mexico, and just enjoying the fun with other friendly winter visitors. The lot rent is still reasonable and the location can't be beat!

Advertised Wifi, but it was only available at the office or clubhouse. Advertised cable tv, but each site had to order their own from the cable company. The trailers were crammed in between permanent residents. Laundry was inexpensive and the showers very clean.

You can't walk your dog in the park. It's mostly trailers. It's located in a dangerous part of town, and under airport flight path If you make a reservation and change dates, lose your whole deposit. Best to stay away.

We visited the park for the first time during the winter of 2022. The residents are great and the owners and their staff kind and accommodating. It is pet friendly but they stick to strict rules regarding pet behaviour and owner habits. I love walking our dog Ava along the flower lined canal. We liked it so much we bought a park model and we are making life long friends. The premises are kept clean and the facilities are constantly being upgraded. The owners survey the residents to ensure they are providing the best experience while at Friendly Acres. A recommended place for snowbirds.

Its a very well kept RV Trailer park. Looks nice. Was quiet but most Snowbirds were probably gone. A Trucker friend of mine from the Company we work for lives there, I was visiting

Yes, Friendly Acres is friendly! The pool is small but there are two spas. Lots to do. Walmart Neighborhood Market right next door. Major hospital 15 minutes away (excellent care). Mexico about 20 minutes away.

Hi Owner Jim W. This is Johnny, a previous tenant of four years from spots 263, 254 and 215 at your UNfriendly Acres RV park, in which you have managed by Mr. Old Grouchy Jimmy C- who thinks he owns the park. Well owner Jimmy W, it’s one hell of a coincidence that all three of your RV parks have a pool and hot tub “pump problem” that happens every year in May and June. Why don’t you just call it as it is—your electricity saving months. My guess is, that you want to save money after the snowbirds leave. And while those Canadian guests are gone for the Summer, you also discontinue your professional pool service and leave your maintenance worker, little Jimmy, in charge of the chlorine levels. What a mess that is! If you use the hot tub you should also plan on calling an ambulance for a trip to the ER to have your eyes washed out! Let me tell you, your Lazy A** manager Jim, is only friendly when he collects the rent. I paid you $16k in rent over the last four years and thanks to your poorly managed park with unaddressed concerning issues, you will not be getting anymore thousands from me. Here is what I observed during my four year stay: Homeless people using the pool for two years. They also use the park’s dumpster-close to the main street entrance. Non-residents using the park’s laundry facilities. A homeless man found sleeping in a Canadian owned trailer for months! Oh and by the way, you should call the Hazmat crew to come clean and remove the growing cancer causing black mold located on the lower wall of the hot tub area. The hazmat crew will definitely be cheaper than a lung cancer causing lawsuit.
